I would like to see 150 by the end of March. As long as I don't grow out of my new jeans I will be happy even if the scale doesn't budge. I'm trying to do more exercise videos that use weights. It really makes a difference in how my clothes fit to tighten up my flab.

Have a great weekend and keep up the great work.
Whew, you sure have been doing awesome! Congratulations on fitting into your new jeans.

Yup, it's a blood test. I requested it because I thought my potassium might be low but it was fine. lol

G'Morning!

Woowho! I'm down .6 this morning to 177.6! I've lost a little the last 3 days. It's so nice to see some movement on the scale! Staying on plan when my weight was just bouncing up and down a pound for so long has paid off!

Awesome job Phase!! Great to see that sticking to it is The way to go.
Come on ladies, March is here! One more month!

I feel a bit like this is my "confession" so here goes:
Saturday night we went out with our friends to our favourite resto in Paris with the purpose of celebrating their 16 years together and our 1 year as married (delayed from January).
And I made the conscious choice to go off plan. I agreed to half a glass of red wine but only drank about half of it! *proud*
And I had dessert ... which was a huuuuuuge let-down. Chocolate mousse with a mandarine sorbet. BUT it was served with crumbled oreo-like cookies. I avoided that part as much as possible but couldn't get away from it all. So the sugar I had been prepared for, the gluten not-so-much.
Let's just say my tummy was not totally happy with me but I also think that that might have been a good thing and it all just passed quickly.

So there. Weigh-in tomorrow will be Interesting!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend and start to March.

Down .8 this morning. 176.8! I wish I could continue losing like this until goal. I'm going to try to remember how happy I am with this plan right now when I encounter my next stall.

Thank you love2live

Amin81 Your dessert sounds delicious! I'm sorry it was a let down and that it made you feel bad.

Hello all! Still here although I haven't posted much lately. Not a lot to report. I am still working towards my goal though! Summer is just around the corner. Exercise has been good, and hubby is going to join me! Hoping that working together will make an improvement in dedication. Best of luck to us all as we move into March.

Weigh-in day!

Last Tues: 72.7 kg (160.3)
This Tues: 71.5 kg (157.6)

So so SO happy to see these numbers this week. Every time I turned down alcohol, chips, dessert or even allowed foods but outside my eating window with our friends (and they did a lot of munching while here!) was totally worth it.

Only 0.5 kg away from being in the "healthy" BMI range, woot woot!
I know BMI should be taken with a pinch of salt but still! Something to compare to.

That's great, fran! Always nice to have some direct support.
My hubby eats what he wants at lunch during the week and has breakfast but weekends and dinners he eats what I eat ... and helps cook it too!

Thanks Phase, just one of those little let-downs I needed to have, I guess.

The retreat was fantastic. I soaked in the hot springs, ate on plan, and got more exercise than usual. Still, somehow I gained weight.

147.0 today. Set me back a whole week. Oh, well.

Good morning everyone,

I am on day four of low-carb. The last two days I've had a horrible, horrible headache. Hopefully, today I am past the point of feeling like I am hungry and starving all the time and starting to get into ketosis.

My DS is coming over for dinner tonight and we are going to have fondue. Oh yummy! I will make a cheese fondue, oil, and hot pot.

Today is a busy, not so busy day. Mainly just running errands and catching up on bills. I hope everyone has a great day!

I had a good weekend although a little high on the calorie front. Managed to loose another pound somehow so down to 129lb. We went ice fishing for about 3 hours so the cold temps probably burned some extra calories! My boyfriend and his son dragged me out on the ice and we didnt even get a single bite. oh well, had a big pan of meatloaf waiting to be cooked when we got back. The downside is with being gone is that I am living on protein bars and lunch meat until there is time for meal prepping. sigh.

What are you guys eating lately.

Yesterday I made carbonara sauce which I mixed in, not with pasta (duh) but with fried white cabbage. It was pretty yummy.
Tonight we will have some kind of simple chicken variety (coconut milk and spices, either curry or maybe soy sauce and some sambal oelek), served with some coleslaw and sallad. And tomorrow will be a spinache soup served with hard-boiled eggs.

I'm collecting so many yummy recipes that I barely get around to doing them all. And that's without an oven! Once we get an oven again we can truly go wild!

Yum! But what are you going to dip in the cheese fondue? The traditional bread obviously won't work...

The headaches/starving part does pass. When you first go low-carb, be sure not to restrict your fat too much. There is a time and a place to limit calories on low carb, but the first few days of induction are not it. And you should not worry about your fat intake, unless later on you decide you need to raise fat/lower protein to get deeper into ketosis. But again, that comes later.

I really really suggest you get a blood ketone monitor. It really has made all the difference in my diet choices. For example, my blood ketones have dropped back down this week (probably as a result of all the veggies I ate on retreat refilling my liver's glycogen stores) so I know for the next few days I need to eat a little less protein, eat more fat, and exercise a bit more.

Couch 2 5k, here I come!

-----------

2/28: 145.8
3/3: 147 - gained whilst on retreat
3/5: 146.0 almost back to pre-retreat weight
3/6: 145.6 back on track

-----------
My goal for March is to lose eight pounds.

I believe this is very personal and will likely depend on amount. Some people need to stay the beep away from sweeteners and others are fine with them.

For me, no, it doesn't seem to affect. But I do keep my stevia down to max 2 servings (I use the pill variety in some teas and coffees) per day. I do take HC in my coffee but again, don't go crazy with it.

So best advice - test it and see how your body reacts.

I agree it depends on the person and amount. Some sweeteners do not agree with people either. I know someone who swells a bit from a single packet of splenda but can tolerate plenty of the natural sweeteners. Some people say they stall on protein bars/shakes too.
I personally have a high tolerance and was still putting a tsp of honey in my first cup of coffee (immune booster). I quit for 2 weeks and did manage to loose an extra pound but now am sick

You could try and remove them from your diet for a week and see how it goes. I did that with yogurt recently and found my sinus were a lot clearer. Did not even know I had a problem with it. There are threads out there talking about some diet used out there to diagnose your sensitivities and what can potentially be causing a stall. You have to eliminate a lot of food temporarily and start adding it back in week by week.

Today I will be trapped in my car in the parking lot of an Animal Rescue Center while my son does his volunteer training so he can get his necessary high school volunteer hours. I'd like to volunteer too, but instead I'm going to be sitting in my car doing my Spanish and Bible classes' homework for three hours, because I am a week behind in all five classes. I need to be held captive to force me to slow down enough to get the homework done. If I get a lot of work done in the first two hours I might go for a walk. This animal center is in my favorite neighborhood, actually, where I would love to live. I could meander about and gawk at the opulent homes.

Ladies, I am officially getting old (official age 33 but bear with me here).

Last night we went to a little party chez a good friend's and didn't get home and to bed until 1:30am.

This morning I am basically hung over. I woke up at 6:45am and could not fall back asleep coz I just felt awful. And guess what? I didn't even go off plan!!! Not a single drop of alcohol, no foods at all (it was past my eating window and nothing was allowed anyways).

And still, feeling yuck. And this is the second time this happens, the common denominator being going to bed past midnight. Apparently now a lack of sleep results in hang-over like feeling. Getting old, for sure.

Amin- I'm quite a bit older than you but have found out that losing sleep is worse than an alcohol hangover. It has the same affect on my body if not worse.

I've lost another pound this week. I've been doing lots of exercise videos instead of large amounts of walking. Challenging myself to new activities is paying off. I saw a picture of myself from last April and can't believe how big I'd gotten. Next month I'm going to take a similar picture and share them. The embarrassment of taking pictures will keep me on track with my eating, too.

I just got back from a very short notice trip. I'm glad to be home again. I didn't have access to a scale while I was away and we had to eat out 100% of the time. I managed to stay on plan and ate smaller servings but I was still worried I'd gain from the restaurant food. I woke up down 6.4lbs since the morning of the 5th! I think I'm a little dehydrated though so I prolly won't see 170.4 for long.

Awesome progress and strength with all the restaurant temptation!

------------

A good update for me too! I have a family get together planned at the beginning of April (in Florida!) so I decided to go back through my summer clothes. Most of them fit or were too big

I also have been neglecting my "goal" pair of pants since I can somewhat feel the difference in a few pairs of work jeans. Tried them and they FIT! Still need to loose a couple of pounds for wiggle room but I am floored.

Need to keep my eye on the goal though, still not bikini ready yet. May need to wear my "fat tuck" dress swimsuite I got last year for a Jamacia family trip.

What an awesome NSV! Goal pants! Even if you can't actually wear them yet, just getting them on is SOOO inspiring!

And yes, even when I reach "goal" I will always need a little support/Spanx to hold it all together. Until I complete my full body transformation: weightlifting, running, and training for a big backpacking trip. But that goal is a year away.

Thanks Val, that's so good to hear. I was thinking I was starting to go a little crazy there. I do like my sleep though, especially on pattern, so to speak.

Grats on the pound! I'd also be real shy about pictures but awesome if you can do it, total motivator for everyone!

I made goulash this weekend (and it was awesome, I have pics if you wanna see hehe) and part of the ingredients list was celery, which I could only get like a huuuuuge batch of.
So now I'm stuck with like way too much celery at home and aside from tossing it in our normal sallad or coleslaw, I'm not sure what to do with it. Help!

Good morning everyone,

I finally broke 250.

Boy, it sure is windy today. I'm at the tail end whenever nasty bug got me. Thank goodness for that.

I want to the doctor the other day just for routine checkup for documentation at my new school. I ended up getting two more vaccines. One was hepatitis A, and the other one was typhoid. Typhoid? As in Typhoid Mary? Goodness gracious.

This past weekend I spent in a hotel room in Winnemucca, Nevada. My DH attends a yearly photography symposium there. I had no Internet. Eek! Just prior to the trip, my DH cut the binding off almost all of my school books. It took me about two days to hole punch all of the pages and organize them into binders. I also watched about six movies on HBO. That's funny to me because I rarely watch any TV.

Fondue the other night was wonderful. Unfortunately, my favorite part of the fondue is dipping apples into the creamy, melted cheese. So instead I just poured cheese all over my meat, chicken and cauliflower.

Not much else to report other than it feels like one of those days where you could just hang out in bed all day. I always say that, but in reality I have ADHD and always need to be doing something.

Have a great Monday everyone!
