Nicely done, ValR. And isn't that just the best feeling when a piece of clothing just fits right (again)?!

Nice woosh!

And congrats on the losses, everyone. Looks like a lot of success this week.

When do most of you weigh?

I was getting a bit crazy about weighing myself so I had my husband hide the scale and he can only give it to me 1x a week. I chose Saturday mornings.

Gripe session...

I am at work, and I don't want to be here.
I know my TOM is coming, and I am feeling tired and breaking out with acne.

No need to reply. I just wanted to gripe.

I wish you the best on planking. I have such a weak core that when I tried it a while back I threw my back out. I think it all depends on how good of shape you're in and what your back is like. I have friends who are personal trainers and they swear by it.

You can gripe all you want.
What do you do for work?

I have to tell you a funny story about TOM. I once had an abusive boyfriend by the name of Tom. Now, when I see people mentioning that Tom is coming, it sounds so appropriate. He was just like that time of the month.

I have to report that I'm down 252.5. Finally. I shouldn't complain because that's 17 1/2 pounds gone since January 1st.

Not much to report today other than I'm cleaning and once again studying like crazy.

Everyone have a great day!

The stuff kids do to you...LOL
I try to hold in the plank position for 20 seconds, then rest for 20 seconds. I try to do 3 reps. Last night at the Y I decided to do the treadmill for a half hour then the weight machines for a half hour. I was so clueless on those machines. I have no idea how much weight to put on them or how many reps to do for each exercise. I know I should just ask...

I normally weigh myself in the morning, almost every day. I get up go to the bathroom and step on the scales. If I have a cuppa coffee first there is no way I'm stepping on scales because every 10th of a pound counts.

Same here only I weigh every other day after a DownDay. I never weigh after an UpDay because I eat a lot in the evening on UpDays and the increase from that is too discouraging.

_____________

Nothing new to report. Tomorrow's the next weigh-in so I guess I will find out if I am still semi-stuck or if the scale is moving along.

It's a DownDay and I am really busy so that's all for now. See everyone tomorrow!

last night while on elliptical, I was watchin one of those tmz type shows where they were talking about Beyoncé and that scantily clad thing she was wearing during the grammys....she said she weighed 195 at the birth of her beautiful baby girl Blue. She wanted to show her 65lb loss on national tv and show that anyone who put their mind to it could look that good!!! WELL IF THAT's NOT INCENTIVE, I surely don't know what is....if I could look half as good as her at 130 I would be ecstatic!!! Cause right now, I'm at what she gave birth....I HAVE GOT TO DO THIS this time....no excuses

I'm up .8 this morning. I think after today I'll do meat and eggs for a couple days until I can get into the 170s.

Ditto for me as well! I tried to make myself wait and weigh once weekly and every morning I really wanted to see what the number would be and figured I'd start not weighing the next morning. lol The scale is my only real measure of progress right now because I won't go down a pants size anytime soon. Last time I lost 25lbs and stayed in the same size. lol

(Maybe TMI warning)

I am soooo glad I am DONE with TOM. Five years ago I had severe perimenopause and all manner of female problems related to that. Stopped having periods but had bloating, pain, and constant spotting for a whole year. The doc decided my condition was precancerous and put me on a progesterone treatment to take care of it. One of the side effects is NO MORE PERIODS. By the time I am done with the treatment (another 5 years) I will probably be done with the change and in full menopause. I haven't had TOM in five years!

---------

Today's weigh in was 155 so I had a nice mini-whoosh again. I think my new strategy of mild exercise/higher fat/moderate protein is working.

Blood sugar was 85 (perfect) and ketones were 1.2 (Still a little low for my liking but better than they were last week).

I can't wait! Since I have started eating this way, my TOM have come on a 23 day cycle and not my usual 26 day cycle. Yeaaaa me! LOL. I went to bed around 9 last night because I was so tired--TOM is right around the corner.

Plank update!

Wow, I am truly shocked at how many muscles are feeling a bit sore this morning. I have done two days of our home plank challenge, and that was only 30 secs and 36 secs, and my abs are feeling it. I think I found my exercise! What else can I do for less than a minute and get a good workout? LOL

Jingle Bells...

Merry Christmas! Our drought is finally over. We woke up to 6 inches of snow and it's still coming down pretty heavy. This is great news for the ski resorts here and Lake Tahoe.

I just put corn beef and cabbage in the crockpot, oh yummy!

I'm down another half pound but, I was so busy yesterday I only had a small salad to eat. So I'm not doing the happy dance just yet.

Congratulations on the whoosh! You must be feeling pretty great.

I wonder why higher fat works? I stalled for about a week, and decided to eat a whole bunch of sausage. I've been losing after that binge of Jimmy Dean.

Regarding TMI, I have TOM every two weeks. This really stinks. Needless to say I both have menstrual cramps and PMS twice as often. Lucky me and poor DH.

I don't know any other exercise that gives that much bang for your buck.
In my class, they also do the "superman" where you lay on your stomach and pick your arms and legs up off the floor like your flying (Superman) and hold in that position for as long as you can. I don't like that one as much as the plank but it's another option.

You can do it, you're going to look really good.

I think Beyoncé however, went on the lemonade fast. I did that for about five days last summer and all I could do is think about food. I never had a Zen moment, but I guess it didn't help to watch the food channel.

I will have to google that and see what muscles it works. I could use one for my butt.
