Nothing much in the way of loss, but no gain either. I also have done some eating out of boredom and need to find other ways to occupy my time! Working on that! Glad your test went well love2live. Friday is finally here and hubby should be home soon! Hope you all have a wonderful, long weekend. See you later...

The procedure went well this morning I was only stuck three different places in order to find a nice vein for the IV. I got a clean bill of health and was very relieved to know that because I was quite nervous since my mother has colon cancer and my grandmother passed away from colon cancer.

I'm happy to report only for the next couple of days that I'm down 3.5 pounds That colon cleanse was brutal.

I came home and had a nice hot cup of coffee with cream. I didn't eat that big juicy hamburger with bacon cheese and mayonnaise that I was dreaming about last night, but I did manage to eat a piece of chicken and some cauliflower. I blended the Cauliflower in my juicer and it tasted just like mashed potatoes. Well, almost.
Congrats on those results!!

Down some. I need to stick with it. Avoided the wine with dinner this evening. I will not backslide and gain it back.

Well, I did it guys....

After 14 days if no alcohol, I had a "planned" indulgence last night. I had 5.5 lite beers - about 3 more than I really anticipated
After waking up this morning, with a headache I might add, I think that I have decided that it really didn't do that much for me, so not sure if I will be doing that again anytime soon.

On a good note, I did not eat any chips with the salsa last night, had chicken fajitas, no tortillas, and a bit of Mexican coleslaw.

Today, I am planning on very low carb, lots of water, and some exercise.

Little Drop

Well, after posting yesterday that I was stuck, for no apparent reason, the scale this morning shows me back at 279.6. Hopefully, that means I'm unstuck and it will keep moving downward.

I did not have a beer last night (for Family Fun Night). Part of me considered having one despite what I posted yesterday, but when I really thought about it, I really didn't want or need one at all. So I stayed strong in that feeling of not really wanting one and ignored the impulse.

It's more like, mental habits... I think I should be doing this (having a beer, a cookie, or whatever) because it's a certain time on the clock, or day of the week, or occasion. But half the time, I don't even really want that thing. It just the old habit talking.

I'm up again this morning. 183.0. I'm at the point in time where I usually fall off the wagon so I'm going to refocus my efforts. I also gained a little knowledge with the weight, low carb tortillas are not my friend at this point. lol I'm not going to have them in the house anymore because I binge on them, which is not so good. I'm making steak and alfredo broccoli for dinner so I won't be missing those crummy wraps anyway.

Whew, That must've been hard not eating tortillas. Great self-control. I love salsa and that would've been hard for me. At home and when we go out I always ask for celery and use that to dip into the salsa. My husband hates it because he loathes the smell or taste of celery.

Sending some whoosh fairies your way.

Until then I am sending you some

Weighed in in at 159.0 this morning, down .8 since two days ago.

It's only been three days, but I don't usually bounce back up, so I hope I am solidly in the 150's now.
I'm planning to walk with weights again tonight. It seems to be working well; I am getting stronger each time I do it, walking further and carrying more weights than ever. Hopefully soon I will be ready to try C25K again. But then I won't be able to take my dog; she is no good at running on a lead.

So glad you got a clean bill of health! Hope your doing this inspires anybody else reading this who has not had a colonoscopy to get one! Everybody over the age of 50 should have one, even if you don't have a family history of colon cancer....

Thank you Health For Life.

You know, I really had a wake up call over the past couple of months. My high school friends seem to be passing away from this or that and my neighbor who is my age just passed away from cervical cancer. She did not have a Pap smear in years. I figure that the least I could do is screen myself for preventable cancers. In my studies, I am really learning about food and chemicals and the toll on the body. A lot of health is genetics, but I don't want to give my death clock any chance of speeding up.

Okay for those of you not on strict induction or are wanting to have a lc treat every now and then - I just modified a friends Peanut Butter Bar recipe and it was Delish and only 1.3net carb per square.

Bottom Crust
3tbs butter 18f/0c/0p I use lightly salted real butter
5tbs cacao powder 2.5f/5nc/5p I use hershey's
5 tbs pb 40f/10nc/20p I use Kroger's Natural Creamy PB

Line small baking sheet with parchment paper. Melt butter, stir in pb, add and stir in cacao. Spread across sheet in square shape - easy to push down and out with back of spoon.

Topping
6tbs butter 36f/0c/0p
6tbs pb 48f/12nc/24p

Melt butter, stir in pb. Spread across cacao crust. Freeze for 15-20 mins.

Makes 20 2"x 2" squares.
Total Count 144.5f/27nc/49p this is for all of them combined.
1sq = 7.23f/1.35nc/2.45p

Yes, I have been a vegetarian for about 3 1/2 years now. I eat veggies, eggs, cheeses, seeds and nuts, and a (very) small quantity of legumes. I sometimes use soy-based products such as mock-chicken or soy-burgers as meat substitutes because soy doesn't have any adverse effects on me as it does for some. I also bake low-carb breads and treats using Jennifer Eloff's recipes and others I get from low-carb web sites all over the net.

The two best ones are:

SPLENDID LOW-CARBING BY JENNIFER ELOFF: Chunky Chocolate Chip Cookies (GF)

SPLENDID LOW-CARBING BY JENNIFER ELOFF: Sandwich Bread (2.2 g carbs) (GF) - The recipe you've been waiting for!

Seriously. To die for!

Oh, that's great. I've always wanted to quit meat. That's one of my goals too.

Warning, Rant Ahead

My SIL posted a picture on my facebook wall that lists all the dire side effects of aspartame. I don't even drink soda very often but when I do she's sure to see it, and disapprove of it. The post warns people to NOT let any products containing those wicked fake sweeteners into your home... because "inflammation, epileptic seizures, phobias, fibromyalgia and mental retardation.." Do they really think drinking tons of high fructose corn syrup is better than the occasional diet soda? What is it about cutting carbs that makes some people act so crazy? I never read off the ingredients on her box of little debbie cakes or comment on her many other "food" choices. She's always trying to find a fault with my diet and it's getting to be annoying.

Sorry for the negative vibes.. I think most of you understand the irritation I'm feeling, having most likely dealt with a bit of hypocritical food policing yourselves. lol Anyway, ranting about it helped!
I am so very glad that this forum exists and that you wonderful ladies share your lc journey here. It really helps to keep a gal sane.

Hi ladies! I hope it's okay that I join in a little late. I actually started my new lifestyle on January 7th and realized after a week or so that I totally need some online support. So did some browsing and this thread immediately caught my attention with all the warm support.

Tuesdays are my weigh-in day (I tend to stay away from the scales on a daily basis or I would live on that thing).

start weight: 82.8 kg (182.5)
goal weight: 68 kg (150)
weigh-in after one week: 79.4 kg (175)

Next weigh-in will be this coming Tuesday.
I hope to hit the goal weight on June 10th (so 20 weeks if my calcs are correct).
But I also have a part-way-there goal as my friend is getting married on April 19th: by then I'd like to be 73 kg (161).

As I'm based in Europe, my scale is in kg's but I'll make sure to include pounds in () too.
I'm doing Low Carb High Fat as it's the easiest one to get away with when also cooking dinner for the hubby. And I've got a step counter, which is set to aim for 10,000 steps a day but secretly I hope to get 13,000 steps in per day but shhh don't tell my band that!

I realize my first week loss was rather massive which makes me worry that the scales I have are actually not all that accurate (even with cutting out gluten which I had gorged on over Christmas even though I'm really not supposed to). So be ready for some ranting about that in weeks to come. I figured I'd give it another week or two to see how it behaves and if it is wonky, then invest in a new one.

Right, that's the initial monster post. Keep up the good work, everyone! We can do this!

Welcome Amin81! It's never to late to start or join. Glad you are here. I wouldn't worry about the scale just yet. You lose a lot in the first week or two and then it will slow down some and start averaging out.

Phase, I would be so mad if anyone posted that on my wall intentionally. I think I would start a post war and post lots of info about how bad things they eat are. I know that doesn't solve anything, but it would make me feel better thinking about doing it.

Well, my Whoosh Fairy came back by and brought the Trixster for a good laugh. They took my loss away so I am right back where I was - 163.4. UUUuuuggghh! Nothing off plan, just maybe not enough water yesterday and not much sleep last night.
