Morning all! Date night last night was fun. We ended up at a nearby casino for the buffet. I stuffed myself so full my tummy hurt lol. Tons of options for LC! Plus they had some SF desserts. I had a slice of SF pie and WC and then one teeny choc dipped strawberry. Anyhow after all I ate last night I weighed in today at 206.5...down another lb from yesterday! Looks like I have had a great first week back on LC. I'm headed out the door shortly to pick up my girls and head to Safari Park for the day = lots of walking. I have a concoction in the crock pot for dinner. Hope it tastes yummy. Put in some diced onions, 1/2 package of sliced mushrooms, 4 pork chops, and covered all of that with a jar of Alfredo Sauce. I buy a brand that has 2NC in a serving and I've used it as a base for so many different recipes. Today's was inspired by a recipe I saw that used 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup and pork chops for the crock pot so I am hacking it a bit because there are too many carbs for me in the soup.

Beebug---your crockpot meal sounds wonderful...always so good to come home to a cooked meal and the fragrance throughout the house! I always look forward to dinner on crockpot days at work.

Newbie

Hello Everyone, I would love to join this challenge. I am having a slow start this year, just lost 2 lbs. but ready to get serious. I have been doing Weight Watchers on and off for the past 2 years but just went up and down, cant stick to it because I do not like tracking points for everything I eat. I low carbed several years ago and had better success because I did not get as hungry. Look forward to lots of inspiration from this challenge

Me too! I tried but it's just too tempting to not check every morning. So far seeing a few gains hasn't sent me off plan so it's not such a bad thing.

Good morning Fran... What does 1963 mean?

So glad that the scales were good to you too. It's amazing how that one piece of machinery can make all the difference in the world. Have a wonderful day.

Good morning my new found friends,

Well, I've managed to not eat butter for three days now. I'm learning how to cook without putting huge pieces of butter in the skillet first or lathered on most everything. I now need to work on mayonnaise and salad dressing.

I've been also wearing my pedometer around the house and it looks like I'm only getting about 4000 steps in a day. With that said today I am going to figure out how to get in some sort of exercise. I just got over having Planter fasciitis for about two years. Every now and then I can feel a little pain in my left foot. So needless to say I baby my feet and am very careful because I never want to experience that pain again. I think I will go and look into the local swimming pool.

206 this morning. Sorry I am a daily weigher lol. I can't not weigh myself. I actually find it motivating even when I have weeks were I only lost .5 lb. Because I could see how many days I stayed in one spot and be happy when it went down. When I only weigh once a week I get more frustrated at the end of the week to see it barely down any. Also, about picking sometime small and trying it on until it fits...not motivating to me at all. I am 5'11" and can gain and loose 25/30 lbs before I go down a size or up a size. My total weight loss my first time was 70 lbs and I went from size 18/20 to size 12/14. While to look at me it is drastic my clothing size doesn't tell the true story.

Oh I am a mayo addict and the extra fat really helps me feel fuller on less food and overall I end up consuming less calories. What is your reason for cutting it out?

Yes, I work out at home. I changed things up a bit to accommodate my schedule. I like working out and then showering before work, I feel done when I get home.

I finished Week 1 of Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 today!

Funny thing-----MY CATS-----they get in my way all the time when working out! I think they think I'm playing with them. I have three and they start walking all around me and watching me!!

Week 2 starts Saturday. I'm doing 5 days in a row, 2 days off. I'm eating very good too, but not her meal plan...so we will see how it goes. My hubby took before pictures, first time I ever took before pictures on purpose.

All of you are rocking it!!! Thanks for all of your motivating threads!

My DH has one. It was given to him at work as part of a being healthy initiative since he works for a large hospital system here in SD. They log in through work and track their steps.

I am thinking about chicken soup in the crock pot. We have a late night with gymnastics so crock pot is good but it has been so hot here that soup doesn't sound appetizing. Maybe I will do fish tonight and the soup another day.

I had been stuck at 136 for 4-5 days but lost another pound as of this morning. We'll see how well it stabilizes. Good to hear most of you are losing and getting lots of good cardio in. Honestly I tried to do a Jane Fonda video i found recently...HOLY CRAP BATMAN...I must be out of shape worse than I thought. My only saving grace this week seems to be crazy work content. I swear I walked 5 miles throughout the factory yesterday, robots misbehaving and of course i sit on the 2nd floor so its up/down the stairs almost every time.

Food:
Had a wonderful steak last night (maybe that was my weight loss secret)
Bacon & coffee
Zucchini & Sausage in no sugar added red sauce w/ mozerella
1 oz almonds
Salad and goulash w/ low carb noodles.
LC Lemonade

Traveling this weekend it'll be a little more work to stay LC.

I love mayonnaise. And I love to put mayonnaise on just about everything. I guess you can say that I am a sauce / condiments lover. I started tracking every little thing I eat. I'm starting to get into the habit of using my gram scale, weighing all my food because my idea portion size is completely different than what I think I need.

After logging in my food I noticed that butter, mayonnaise, salad dressings, and other condiments seem to have a lot of calories.

Until I reach my goal, I will eat low-carb meals. After that I would like to be on an exercise regime and be able to eat healthy foods some of which have high carbohydrates like the fruits and vegetables that I love. Two cups of cantaloupe is about hundred calories and 34 carbs. Mayonnaise also has 100 cal per tablespoon, Even though there's only .5 carbs. The calorie difference will really make a difference in my life once I reach goal. For me low-carb eating is a way to lose the weight fast. The way I gain my weight is more calories and then burn.

My ultimate goals are to completely cut out red meat, salt, nothing canned or jarred, no prepackaged food, or bottled or canned drinks. I have been reading up on artificial sweeteners and the health risks and have completely cut out diet sodas. I am trying to teach myself to drink water for the first time in my life.

With that said, mayonnaise is not really out of the question. I want to get to a point in my life where if I want to eat mayonnaise, I would make it from scratch.

You know, It's been 15 years since I was a smoker. I remember after I quit how everything tasted so good and colors seem to be brighter and clearer. Somewhere, I have in my mind that the food I eat should taste good without butter or sauces. I don't know if I will ever convince myself of that because I sure do like a good buttered ear of corn with lots of salt .

Hi love2live! 1963 is my birth year. Yes the big one just past! Another reason I don't want another fat summer. Tonight has been a bit of a struggle, but staying on plan. Have a great evening and see you tomorrow.

Hiya. 5'11, what I great height! I'm 5'10 and then some...if I stand up really tall. I need to lose a substantial amount of weight in order for my clothes to start feeling loose.

I used to weigh myself every day and every night. At night I knew that I could subtract 2 pounds and that would most likely be my weight in the morning. Lately however, I seem to become emotional when I feel like I am doing so good and the scales are being so bad. I'm contributing my emotional instability to the possibility that I maybe premenopausal. Or I'm just throwing a temper tantrum. So, I decided to wait and not weigh myself because it's a win-win situation for me because hopefully when I do finally step on the scales it'll be less than the previous time. I do however, think about it all the time.

Hey everyone. I took my did out to lunch today to celebrate an accomplishment of hers. She requested Olive Garden . Pasta heaven. Well,I did some online research and learned that they will substitute veggies like asparagus, broccoli or spinach for pasta. So I ordered chicken Alfredo. I asked the waitress and she said I could do that and even combine veggies. So I ordered it with asparagus and spinach. It was delicious! The veggies were sauteed and the chicken and sauce served on top.

Now that I know that I might go a little more often. Of course I skipped bread sticks and did not eat croutons in the salad. As a bonus , the waitress didn't look at me like I was crazy or act like I had asked for something weird.
