Reporting in:

I am down another .8 pounds to 162.0.

Today's an UpDay so I am looking forward to lots of yummy food, some gardening/yard work, and then a serious walking workout tonight. I purchased a waist leash for the dog so I can do some upper body work with wrist weights while I walk. Also I got some additional vest weights. Tonight it will be three miles, with hills, one whole hour of light arm exercises, plus carrying 24 pounds total weights.

Yesterday was a great day. Took my girls to the zoo so lots of walking. Ate great all day and weighed in this morning at the same as yesterday.

Good morning everybody!
I decided not to weigh in today so not to be discouraged. I have stuck with the plan and not cheated since New Year's Day. However, I have been at 260 for about five days now. Mentally, I wound myself up yesterday obsessing over food because the scales have not moved. So I thought I'd wait and weigh myself on Sunday morning.
I've been logging all of my food in and am surprised how little I think I eat and how many calories/carbs I consume in a day.
I am so excited to lose the weight and started going through all of my clothes that have been packed away for years that I have been saving to wear, both size 9 and 12. Currently, I wear a size 22. I can't wait to post one of those pictures where I hold up a pair of size 22 jeans and stand behind them as though two of me can fit into them.

Hi Beebug!
That's wonderful that you went to the zoo and did a lot of walking. I see in your stats that you are from San Diego, correct? Did you go to the San Diego zoo? I've always wanted to go when I'm down in that area, but never took the time.

Don't get discouraged, I bounced for 4 days from 200.0 to 202 and thought I'd never break it, then low and behold it gave just after I posted my frusteration with bouncing.....HUGS ya'll

Yes I homeschool my girls so we have lots of opportunities to go places during the week when they are less crowded and do school in the evenings or weekends. My passes are expiring at the end of the month so I'm trying to get in several zoo trips and safari park trips before they do. Both parks are beautiful and big with lots of hills so it is a LOT of walking. I wore my new running shoes and broke them in (yay they were comfy all day and no blisters) so now I'm ready whenever DH is ready to go for a run with me!

"Onederland" is a wonderful place! Congratulations!

I'm down 5.5lbs since 12/31. That's a pretty big loss for me, I usually average 5lbs a month when I'm really trying. I think I'll throw some marinated chicken on the grill tonight for dinner, that's one of my favorite meals. I'm also going to make up a Linda Sue's quiche, probably tuna.

Doing ok. The challenge is sticking with it when the weight loss slows. Have a great OP weekend all. My goal is no alcohol and staying low carb this weekend.

I am gradually changing my hair this year. I am dying it lighter until June so I can do a pink, blue or multi color ombre. I always had really long hair, but I wanted a change last year and cut it short with the intention to straighten it everyday. Well I got lazy and I ended up hating curly hair with a short cut.

Day 3, I went off plan completely, which is when I ate at Chilis at the airport, and I just went ahead and ate those evil chips & salsa and ranch dressing...my favorite.

So glad to be home now!

Happy to report that I lost 10 pounds this week. I haven't cheated once and I've been exercising regularly I started winter session at school so I have been really busy. I decided to walk around campus to get exercise. The campus is uphill so in the beginning I regret it but at the end I am happy I did it.

The other day I went to BJs with my friends. Normally I get a pizza, appetizers and plenty of drinks but this time I ordered unsweetened tropical tea and a César salad with no croutons with blue cheese dressing. Well I forgot to order the dressing on the side. My salad was swimming in dressing!!! Overall the food was bad for everyone so I am glad that I didn't cheat. Normally its amazing so obviously they were having a bad day.

And lord help me girl scout season is upon us. Between my friends and my husbands coworkers we end up with 30 boxes of cookies!! I generally just give them away besides the ones my husbands want to keep, but I also hate giving away junk food to people.

Vella, what a great beginning. Keep it up!

Healthy- I have also been alcohol free since 1/2/14. I almost caved last night. I really want a beer. However, I told myself....you know the first one doesn't really taste that good unless it is a cold draft, so you will probably drink more than one...so get over it....and I did. Whew! I am really thinking that it might have become an addiction to me.

G'Morning!

It's nice to see so many of you ladies doing so well!

Down to 181.8 this morning. I'm going to try not weighing again until Wednesday because I'm bouncing up and down too much right now. I'll just focus on trying to keep my eating clean and let my body do it's thing.

Rotay- I've also quit drinking and it's hard. I know my love of adult beverages is how I gained extra weight and I've decided it's not worth it but sometimes it's tough to pass up the drinks.

I took my son out for dinner last night and we sat in the bar at Buffalo Wild Wings. It was so tough to order water instead of taking advantage of happy hour. The self control was worth it today My scale is down a tad bit this morning. I'm not deserving the weight loss after eating a bunch of wings.

The scale is a lovely piece of equipment when you like what it has to say but I truly don't think it always accurately affects where we are in our weight loss journey. The times I've eaten perfectly the weight has gone upwards and it's depressing. I guess my point is don't beat yourself up over the numbers and just keep plugging away even if the scale isn't treating you kindly.

Vella...what a great week!! Don't you just love that initial quick loss...it's so motivating! Congrats on the exercise....that's the part that's totally missing for me. Keep up the great work!!

Those GS cookies...I hear you. Our church collects food for Food Link and I always figure some little kids are gonna be thrilled when Mom/Dad returns home from there with a treat like that.

Day 11....down 8.5lb!

VERY happy to see the scale go down again today....yesterday was HARD! I swear I was starving all day and no matter what I ate, I wanted more. I realized it couldn't be real hunger and that about this time on a new plan I get like this. I think it's my old "self sabotage" habit of convincing me that I'm a failure....NOT THIS TIME! I'm determined to get this weight off this time.

Weekends are always difficult. Have decided not to go out to dinner tonight like we usually do on Saturday night and stay home and watch football instead....GO COLTS! Entertaining tomorrow, but planning a menu I can live with. Baby steps, Sherrie...baby steps.

Well I had a terrible day yesterday! I ate 5 frozen mozzarella sticks that I found in the freezer... thinking that it wouldn't be that many carbs. After eating them I looked up the nutrition... 50 carbs! So I'm not weighing in today. I'll be super good and pray for a miracle when I weigh in tomorrow.

First weigh in of the year - down 3.1. I was hoping it might be a little more, but I weighed in on the 1st and didn't really start until the 3rd, so chances are I was a little higher to start. Over all I'm happy. Definitely feeling it in my jeans. Yesterday I wore a pair I couldn't even zip the first of the week.

Good morning my newfound friends,

Well, I weighed myself and I'm up 1.6 pounds. I haven't cheated since January 1, so I felt like throwing a minor temper tantrum as soon as I stepped off the scales.
Night before last I decided to take down the tree because I noticed lately that I started getting bites around my ankles and calves whenever I sat and watch TV. I thought maybe our tree had some sort of bug in it and I was getting bites. Well, last night I sat down and started getting more bites. They burn and itch like crazy. Ha, I sprayed my chair thinking that would do the trick for now. When I went to bed however, I noticed a small rash developing on my thigh. Well, I think what has been going on is I have been having an allergic reaction to these bottles of water enhancers that I have been putting in my water all day now since about Christmas time. I looked up on the Internet if there were any side effects to what I was using and low and behold many people reported small little bites and red bumps that itched and burned like crazy. Amazing! I'll stop using them and see if the bumps and rash goes away.

Its so motivating to see so many losses! I am down another pound in the last few days. I do weigh everyday but i don't trust it until i see the same number for 3 days.

I'm currently reading the book protein power which suggests picking an article of clothing that is too small but you really want to wear and attempting to put it on once a week. you can slowly see how your measurements are improving without getting out the tape. There is a particular pair of pants i want to do this with but need to dig them out!

Good luck to all of you this weekend. I know you will make good decisions.
