First Day!!

I'm checking in-- I didn't weigh in today, because Monday is my usual day to weigh in. Guess it would have made more sense today, huh? sorry Chantyl!

I AM doing well with eating and exercising, though! I did 45 minutes of Callanetics today, and have all my meals squared away.

On a super positive note, I went to the movies yesterday. I LOVE movie popcorn, and in the past could eat an entire large tub of it all by myself. But yesterday, I brought celery and LF cream cheese with me, and that's what I ate during the movie. It felt really good to be in control!

Wow that is amazing restraint. Great Job. Movie popcorn is one of my major vices. Think I'm just going to stay out the movies for a few months lol.

I also went to the movies yesterday and stayed on track!

I didn't weigh today since I started yesterday - I was at 239. I prefer to be a sporadic weigher - basing whether or not I will on my mental state, lol! But, for the purpose of this challenge I'll weigh every Sunday. I stayed on track with my food today. No work out.

WOE: JUDDD Maintenance.
Start Date: 2011
I'm posting this to remind me that maintenance has a different set of challenges than weight loss.

Reflecting on 4 Christmases.

Christmas 2010 168lbs (approx)
Christmas 2011 140lbs (approx)
Christmas 2012 157lbs (approx)
Christmas 2013 124lbs (approx)

So, I'm the lightest I've been since my last significant accident (2009) altho' a fair bit heavier than I was before. Maintenance is very important to me and I really couldn't have got here without the support of this board. I need to continue to be accountable for my food and exercise choices, so, I need this challenge.

Ya'll sure are a gabby bunch...I'm sorry I missed it yesterday! When DH is off work it keeps me away from my computer.... he's off again today so I will probably be scarce again..

Had a great day yesterday though! I ate great and got in all of my water.
No formal exercise but I did end up walking about 2 miles just at the mall..

Today's plan is a LC day; 1200 cals, 30 min. of walking outside, and 1 gallon of water.

We went to the movies day before yesterday--yes I had popcorn, but it was before this challenge started! Saw The Wolf of Wall Street--great movie but it was long!

Does anyone have plans for New Years Eve?

Is there still room for me?

I saw this when Chantyl first posted and thought to myself, "That looks like a great challenge." But then I thought of how many I had joined before and disappeared from so I didn't post, but the date stuck in my mind.

So yesterday I am out for an afternoon walk, with a day of clean eating behind me, and I remembered it was the first day of the challenge. I told myself if I stayed on plan all night I would join in the morning.

Well, here I am. The scale rewarded me with a 2 lb drop and I am rewarding myself with this challenge.

Name: Gina
What plan are you following? dairy-free, gluten- free, lower carb
Why this challenge? What's your motivation? I had a foot problem that kept me from running for about 18 months. I gained back 50+ lbs of the 80 I had lost and lost a lot of my fitness.
What type of exercise do you do? Walking now and running soon
What part of the country are you in? California coast

It is great to be here! New year, new start, new habits!

Partway through the 2nd day - so a quick check-in.

It's tempting to want stew but today is a DD so, sticking with the planned food and just back from today's session in the gym with trainer (normally Tuesday night but it was more convenient for him to bring it forward from New Year's Eve ).

Going to the cinemas shortly to see Frozen and possibly Desolation of Smaug which should take our minds off food for the evening (DH and I JUDDD together).

Weight: 124.4lbs (looking to maintain 124-127lbs)

Photos: none

WOE: ate on plan for a DD

Exercise: one hour in gym with trainer: weights, dips, chin-ups etc.

Checking in

I'm off to a great start... I needed this challenge.

Weight 168, down 5 since recommitting. (Now I just need to keep it off!)

Walked for 30 min. Need to start slow and build up to more.

Ate clean and I'm feeling the decreased appetite. Yay!

Everyone's doing so well already!

I count my official weight on Thursday mornings so I guess I'll use that for this challenge to keep myself straight.

I weighed in at 222, depressing to say the least.

Anyway I ate well yesterday. So far today, I have managed to eat a LC breakfast. Unfortunately, I didn't bring anything for lunch and will have to go to the cafeteria. Hopefully, I will plan better tomorrow. I also plan to exercise later today.

I weighed in at 236....which honestly is better than I anticipated right after the holidays....but depressing nonetheless!!! That's ok, off to a GREAT start today and will eat on plan AND get a good walk in...I WILL DO THIS!!!

Count me in

I can't wait any longer to get myself healthy. I was going to wait until after New Years but I am just not feeling well anymore. I need to do something and TODAY IS THE DAY!

Name: Cathy

What plan are you following? Dr. Parker;s Low Carb Mediterranean Plan

Why this challenge? What's your motivation? My motivation is that I can not take living like this anymore. My acid reflux is out of control, my asthma is acting up again, I have a hernia that needs to be fixed and I must lose weight before the operation, I am tired of being tired.

What type of exercise do you do? As soon as my asthma is under control with some weight loss I have Tony Horton's Power 90 program that I have been wanting to start but was too LAZY!

What part of the country are you in? Unfortunately one of the food capital of the world, New Orleans.

GREAT START!

Wow, we're all doing so well!! Congrats to all who stayed on plan yesterday!(I guess when you just "cut the crap" and do it, it's pretty straight forward. LOL)
I weighed in at 230 this morning... I expected it to be lower, but I'm hoping it's because of the amount of exercise I've been doing and have been gaining muscle weight.

This morning I got up and did Kathy Smith's Matrix Method Ultimate Sculpt--the 30 minute cardio, and 10 minute abs.

BTW, to all those that just joined!! I'm loving this challenge already!
