I get dark chocolate bars. I know, I know, dark chocolate isn't the same. But the 85% chocolate is super low in carbs... and I find that since I don't eat sweets anymore, the dark chocolate actually tastes sweet, and a couple of squares is satisfying.

OMG

You guys I am SOOOOO tired!!! I had to get up early to be in court by 8:30, wasted all morning there and was rewarded by being SWAMPED all afternoon when I got back to the office.....I'm so exhausted right now I can barely form coherent thoughts.....did not get any of my walking time in today, but I DID eat on plan (less than 500 calories so far.....not on purpose!) So it'll be 1 point for me today and an early bed time!!

Yanno, when I was doing Atkins, DH and I used to get those Lindt dark chocolate bars...so good! Unfortunately my plan doesn't really allow for anything like that until Reward day.. I just had to keep reminding myself that in a few days I can enjoy anything I want, I just have to keep at it all week.

You know, as a runner, I used to quietly (only in my head) poke fun at power walkers, until one BEAT ME in a 5 mile race. I make fun no more.

I did wind up getting in a pretty good walk today after all. I walked big circles around my school (after daylight in a clown-free neighborhood). Eating was good even though I went to Costco after work and bought a pizza for the guys and had to smell the thing all the way home. I figured out recently I have some kind of dairy intolerance so I couldn't even scrape off the toppings.

JD, I have to watch my sodium intake, too. It might help if I stopped using the salt shaker So sorry for the weather drama! Stay warm!

I had a good day yesterday... until I dipped in to the macadamia nuts. Those things are my major weakness! They are an acceptable food choice, but not in large quantities. UGH! I REALLY need to CUT the CRAP today!!

Good evening!

Hi everyone!

How was everyone's day?

Danielle, when my kids would get sick I always shook my head at how everyone would get sick! I always said that the kids who won't share their toys will always gladly share their germs!!

Slowsure, how are you doing over there? I saw on the news the incredible storm you guys were getting ......are you doing ok?

Bobbin, good job staying away from the fries.....way to stay strong!

Sammi, 3 1/2 miles.....that's AWESOME!!! Burning some serious calories that way!!

Tracy, I love nuts of any kind....especially macadamias!! I have to keep them out of the house!

Kiki, hehe....I came across that quote a few years ago and fell in love with it....I think it's perfectly explains what I aspire to!

Jeanie, GREAT JOB staying on track today....I know how that is when you're exhausted....been there!! Get your rest girl, it's so much easier to do this when you're well rested!

Hi Gina! Hi JG!!

How are you Tyl?? You must be busy today!!! I hope all is well!

Today was great here, no where near as hectic as yesterday was and I stayed on plan with both food & exercise!!

Everyone's doing so great.....we are making some real strides towards our goals, lets keep up the great work!!!!

Hi All,

A good day in the bag. I went out for 2.5 miles this morning (after sun up, since I had a drs appt and didn't go to work this morning, no clowns and no Chupacabra) and ran at least half of it. I am pleased with myself. I haven't run to speak of in about a year and a half.

The doctor I saw today is a ways away from home and DH drove over with me. We went to In and Out Burgers for lunch and it was yummy. You ask for your burger "protein style" and they wrap it in lettuce. If you ask for it "animal style" they grill the onions. I did both.

I went to the informational meeting for a running group I signed up for tonight and I think it is going to be great. Our first workout is Saturday.

Hey everyone just wanted to pop in and see how everyone is doing. I lost another 3.8 pounds bringing the total to 7.8 since 1/3. I know its water but I am still please.

I have been eating on plan.

And believe me I got my exercise in today! I walked a little over 4 miles today. It wasn't planned. I got out of class early and was bored so I decided to walk over the hill to the college next to us. Well it seemed like a good idea at the time anyway. Its a little over a mile from our school to the other one, and its mostly uphill then it drops down. Well that part wasnt that bad. Its when I got to the university that I realized crap.... now I have to walk all the way around the campus, steep up hill..... that part was horrible!!! Its also over a mile! So finally I get to the math building and find my husband just in time. THEN he is like oh we need to walk across campus to the bookstore, then back across to find the car.... So all in all 4.2 miles! I am so unbelievably sore, but I just can't believe that I made it with all those hills.

I really wanted to eat it. I haven't eaten ground meats in years. I was hoping If I told myself it was good that I could trick my brain into eating it. I can eat some meats but there are many requirements it has to meet. I just have a problem with food in general but especially meats. Just had too many bad experiences with it I guess. I went to see a specialist and she encourages adding in new foods, but since I like ground meat the least I shouldn't have started there.

That's awesome. Chik filet is hard to resist. The chicken is sooo good! My friends do that to me all the time. Just one bite, one sip, stop being a buzz kill, ect. So this time I told them if they are going to be that way I don't need to see them if they can't support me. I know your situation was a little different though.

Some remarkable landmarks have disappeared with the storm pounding. It's nothing like the Polar Vortex you've been experiencing but parts of the UK have been flooded since before Christmas and the rain continues to fall onto ground that can't absorb it. All of the usually clear rivers and canals near to me are discoloured with run-off from the surrounding fields (it's the soil).

We're keeping an eye on our local flood defences to make sure they're not blocked by debris. So far, we're OK, thank you and people near us have only lost fences and sheds rather than roofs. It will be interesting to see what happens if it continues. Particularly if the temperatures drop and we start adding freeze-thaw cycles onto already weakened structures.

I hope people here are coping with the US snow and ice.

Hi there!!

Danielle - I did start swimming last week, I'm lucky my gym has a great pool. It also has a giant hot tub next to it, where all of the shirtless older men like to congregate to chat between steams, lol. I kinda feel like I'm on display walking out there, but what ever. I really love to swim!! I especially love to meditate while I'm doing my laps.

So, another day in the can yesterday - work out too, so my total rises to 4 for the week. Have a great day everyone!
