The Holiday Carbsniper Battle III

Tis the season for holiday carbsnipers taking careful aim to do damage. Most likely you have been carbsniped in the past. The box of donuts dropped on the table in the break room, the home baked cookies left on your desk, ......It is going to get rough and messy. Together we can make it through and hopefully lose a few pounds along the way!

Join our group if you're looking for fun and support on your journey!

The first weigh in will be Thursday, Dec. 5. The last will be Thursday, Jan. 2. This should lead us into the New Year in better shape than we are now! If you forget to weigh in, do so as soon as you can. If the weigh in day doesn't work for you, feel free to choose the day of the week tht does. We are a friendly, fun loving, supportive group! But we are willing to kick your booty if needed! Hoping to get reenlistments, and all new enlistments are welcome as well!

Everyone is welcome no matter what plan you are on!!! Maintainers are also
welcome to join in on the challenge. We are all here to support your weightloss/fitness journey. Any A.W.O.L. members from past challenges will be given full pardon.

We will make it through this rough battle together and come out fighting!

Oh and holy smokes!! I have been in a terrible depression, winter does this to me. I have been eating one meal with the guys at night... sometimes I haven't eaten a meal, but eaten a huge bowl of something I won't even mention. I have been so afraid to weigh figuring that I have just eaten my way right back up to the 206 I was when I finally recommitted to this on Oct. 1st. I just now figured I better just bite the bullet and freakin' weigh myself so I know what I am dealing with cuz not dealing with it and not weighing is exactly how I regained 20 of the 60 I had worked so hard to lose. Drumroll please........... 194!!!! Right where I was when I lost my noodle a couple weeks ago. Proof God loves me..lol. And talk about motivation to get my butt back on the straight and narrow! It's like getting a stay of execution!!!

Well, thanks for letting me rant and rave... love you guys.....

Lizzie: Winter causes me depression also. Hugs Hun. I've been avoiding h scale too.....time to face the music...You did ok. Stay of execution...LOL

Excellent Lizzie! I hear you about winter and depression. I get bad after the holiday craziness, and here in Buffalo there is endless gray cold weather, or so it seems. This is my first winter with very little travel, so it will be interesting to see how I do when I have to BE here. I'm going to California for a few days in February , so hopefully that shot of sunshine will help.
I'm packing my low carb go bag with protein shakes, string cheese, and leftover ham and veggies sticks. I will need to do some cooking this week so I'll have better choices!
Feeling relieved to be getting back to it!

I in! My gobbles got a little extra wobble after Thanksgiving. Didn't got as LC as I planned. I was doing great until about 9 in the morning when a Bud Lime Cranberita started calling my name from the fridge. Went downhill from there....

On that note, still eating turkey. I'm frying it in bacon grease right now, will be my lunch.

Yesterday was tough, but I managed to get a low carb day under my belt and I'm feeling better today. I won't weigh until Thursday, but I feel the bloat leaving me!

I'm in too! Believe it or not, I actually behaved on Thanksgiving and ate LC, but then proceeded to totally go off plan practically to the point of bingeing on Fri-Sat-Sun! All the baked goods and carbs in my house due to having holiday house guests were just too much to resist, I guess. I've been going through carb detox since yesterday and paying for my sins BIGTIME--indigestion, tired, bloated, just feeling blah overall. When will I learn?

First day of clean eating after the binge a thon......trying to ignore the carby foods taunting me......

Meg, winter with little travel can be a blessing and a curse! Already missin that sunshine here

Im in!!!!!

I have Seasonal Affective Disorder ( SAD) too..I ended up moving to a sunny climate....while living in the Midwest I took antidepressants from Oct to May...I love the Midwest but I couldn't take another winter...I soo feel for you....BTW the antidepressant I took meant a 7 # loss every Oct..

When I originally started in the mid 90's I weighed 248....L/c is the best!!! It WORKS! Ive regained 20-30# several times..

I am now post menopausal...my goal is to stay on plan...exercise...and hopefully lose aother 5 lbs. Ok I hope another 6

Kitty....we are the same ht and our goals are similar....lets kick BUTT!!

I am doing OK so far this Holiday season, but all of the big challenges are ahead of me:

Going out to lunch with a friend today for her birthday
Going out to breakfast with my Spanish class next week
Going out to dinner with a different Spanish class next week
Potluck at my ladies' Bible study next week
Potluck at our couple's Bible study the week after that
And then: Christmas!

This is gonna be sooo hard.

Welcome Deb! Another tall gal!

Taking things one day at a time here. Second good day. Hoping some bloat and symptoms leave soon. Feel like a combo of PMS and menopause all rolled up in one emotional ball on top of physical symptoms... if this doesn't clear up soon, calling doc. Maybe my meds need adjusted....Hoping eating better helps...great, carol king on....more sobbing....

OK well at my friend's birthday lunch today I was sooooo tempted. We went to a hibachi steakhouse/sushi bar. There was fried rice (fried right in front of me on the hibachi, like they do) and all manner of yummy fried veggies (which I passed on because I would have waaaay gone off plan if I'd allowed myself to get started) and the yummiest looking cabbage salad with a beautiful ginger dressing. Which, I am 100% sure, was LOADED with sugar.

I ordered miso soup. Low carb and only 85 calories.

If I am going to stay on plan I have to have control of the rice situation. So I didn't budge an inch. Miso miso miso, that's all for me thank you very much.

Man, that was hard. But I did it! And BTW the soup was excellent and I want to go back there sometime when I am in maintenance and I can have the veggies and maybe the salad. Dressing on the side, of course. Yummmmm!
