WOE: My way mixing it low carb
Misty I'm so jealous you can do rock climbing! We don't have it here but it looks like a fun workout. Get tired, just let go and they haul you back down.

Karen good for you working on your core for your back. That has to be hard.

On plan. 30 pts WW, 10000 steps and 2 sets of 14 wall push-ups and squats.

11 Jan 123.2lbs

Konjac yesterday and some more today with resistant starch.

Week 2 goals accomplished altho' I'm not entirely happy about the exercise (about to go kayaking which is exercise session 3 in a week). However, once I've moved it should be easier to find an indoor activity that can replace kayaking when it's cancelled because of the adverse weather (and recent storm fronts since before Christmas = a lot of adverse weather ).

Good for Karen, SS and Misty!

A little over on my points today. And I didn't walk as much. I can't weigh until Monday. No scale at the lake house. But I did spend more time outside today, walking LD and visiting. It's nice the snow and ice are gone.

Week 2 Challenges:

5 Jan 124.6lbs
6 Jan 124.6lbs
7 Jan 124.2lbs
8 Jan 123.8lbs
9 Jan 123.2lbs
10 Jan 123.4lbs
11 Jan 123.2lbs

Week 2 summary.
Weighed in every day (this may be tricky next week as I moved this weekend)
Introduced konjac and some resistant starch and I need to continue.
Exercise: OK but need to find an indoor activity that isn't hugely expensive for when kayaking is cancelled - this may be easier in the new area where I've just moved.

Week 3 goals
I've just moved into a short-term rental this weekend (less commuting time) so things may be awry for a few days. It may be an early opportunity to consolidate some of these habits.
Continue to weigh in (when I find the scales).
Continue konjac and resistant starch.
Continue exercise and look for suitable indoor activity.

Introduce liquid Mg supplement.
Introduce liquid Zn supplement.

Week 8: Starting weight 193.5

Exercise every day.....write down how many minutes!!

Hips:43.5
Waist:39.5
Chest:42.0
Arm:14.0

Summary: Down 1.5 lbs, not change in measurements. Did get exercise in more often, but still need to work on that. I have not been tracking my water.
Still ok with my week, but it could have been better!!

I need to tweak the amount of konjac and resistant starch as at present they're worsening, not improving, my TMI gut problems. I'm taking my Mg and Zn supplements. I've got difficulties with exercise this week as both Sunday and Monday's kayaking have been cancelled and my trainer's had to cancel Tuesday's gym session as well.

SS it sounds like life is in disarray! I hope it settles soon. Are you taking ionic mag? That's what I was taking. I may try it again and see if it increases my pain again. It may have been a fluke last time. I still have plenty left.

And the effects of the lack of exercise this week are kicking in already. I must find an indoor option for when the outdoor exercise is cancelled.

Yes, and what a disturbing experience for you. Yikes. Good idea to experiment again and establish if it's definitively that or a possible fluke, as you mention.

I'd tried taking other forms of Mg but we have a problem obtaining it without other vitamins in the UK (seems to be production problems as well as market niche issues) so I've decided to try out this eye-wateringly expensive ionic Mg (we pay >£1 per dollar of the US price). I don't know whether I want it to work distinctively better given the price difference or if it would make me annoyed for spending the money to no avail.

SS I know what you mean about the mag. I had just ordered 2 more bottles and bought some mag oil. It did give me energy and helped with my sleep. Now it is sitting there waiting on me to decide if I want to try again. The taste is on the nasty side too. Luckily you don't need to take much and it disappears fast with a chaser. Congrats on meeting your goals.

Karen?

Checking in. Did 8 minutes of heavy exercise yesterday. Made it to a 1 minute plank, and did side plank without falling down........and then DD and her BF sat in the chairs and gave me all kinds of other excercises to do on the floor during commercials.

Now I guess I have no excuse not to move it!!

Scale hasn't moved any, but I am eating better. Sleeping all night long with no melatonins or other pills at night.
Bought DS an early birthday present, and he took the SodaStream to the office. See how that works. Supposed to be lower carbs and sugars in those drinks. DS has decided he needs to work a little bit on the weight also (and he does).

If this works for me, I might have to ask DH to pick up some ionic Mg and Zn the next time he's in the US. I'm thinking about the Mg oil...I might try out a more readily available option for now and have some Epsom Salts baths (much as I prefer showers). It does disappear with a chaser tho' it feels slightly absurd to stand there with what feels like a very bad variation on a tequila slammer.

You're doing well with your step management and pedometer and in keep track of your WW points.

10000 steps in. WW points 30. Weight still 131.2

SS thanks. I'll be interested in your Mag outcome. I like the bad tequila chaser metaphor. how's the move?

Karen I looked at soda stream but people said the co2 was expensive to refill. Let me know how that goes. Sounds like the whole family is getting involved in diet and exercise. Nice!!!

50 mile winds tonight. Nasty out here.
Girls went out tonight, since DD20 goes back to college Sat morning. Looks like I have GS overnight!

Wont hurt me to have a quiet night and no office work.......

Supposed to be really cold in the morning.

Soda stream doesn't taste quite like Real coke and Pepsi, but looks like Calorie, Carb and Sodium is lower. So far DS seems to like it.
