NEXT week is going to be the challenge. Going out to eat (twice) with my Spanish classes (we have to order in Spanish) AND there's a Christmas potluck at my ladies' Bible study group. Then another potluck the following week. Ugh! I have no idea how I am going to stay on plan.
Good luck with your goals. This time of year it is tough to stay on plan. My sister coming to visit for a week, and that always makes food an issue.

Next week does sound like a challenge!

We have a party Friday but I bet it is cancelled with the Polar Express coming in We'd night. It was 70 today and beautiful. Oh well

Sticking on plan. Had so much work, trying to get it all in before the weather, I had my 10000 + steps in before I got home. Food I'd good. No Vit. D and my pain is almost gone. So that has to be it.

Too much to read and remember. I hope everyone is ok

Cheryl- Congrats on getting back to pre- Thanksgiving weight so quickly! I really need to get a pedometer and start counting my steps. I am putting that on my need to do list.

We had 65 degrees yesterday and in the 20's today. I think all the extreme changes are hard on my sinuses.... dealing with a bit of a headache today.

Working on getting my water in for the rest of the day...

Almonds or nuts are only snack allowed.
Coconut or Safflower oil every day....usually in coffee to increase fat (curb hungry)

I think I am deciding that 4 goals per week is about the most I can keep track of. Or maybe more than that just gets too restrictive.

Then I will see how many weeks it takes before a goal becomes a habit and I can move to another goal area.
On Tuesday, got 18 minutes exercise documented, not sure about water volume, but absolutely no pop
Had 6 small pieces of black licorice for afternoon snack. hungry!
And had coffee with coconut oil in A.M.

It's helping me too. Braking it down isn't so overwhelming.

How's the weather?

Getting colder. Iced just north and west of us....DH had a tow up on Interstate.......back home safe. Was going to go Des Moines shopping tonight, but it is a black night and been a long day. So we decided to stay home........

Glad someone else likes this weekly-goal idea. I truly think it is helping me.

I am happy for the weekly goals thread too. Even if I don't lose bunches of weight every week, it still keeps me focused on good, healthy habits that I want to keep around no matter what.

Here in Kansas we are having very cold temps.. it is 19 degrees right now with a wind chill of 2 degrees. But, the snow we have is very light and so the roads are not bad to drive at all. Just south of us in Oklahoma there is a lot of ice... hopefully it does not come our direction.

Karen- I think you made the right decision to stay home with the weather deteriorating... best to be safe.

My dh is a UPS man so he is out in the bad weather about 12-14 hours a day right now with all the christmas packages. He always lets me know when the roads start to get bad so I don't go out.

We have snow and sleet. And lots more to come. I live SE of Joplin. Mom says they haven't had anything. I saw some icy pix in Ar. I hope Little Rock escapes it. I will take snow over ice anytime

Since going to my weekly goals, I have been staying away from SF drinks (pop) and added a nutritional supplement.......and I have not taken melatonin at night for a week, and I have slept thru every night. Just realized I had quit taking them.....

That's great! I'm still on melatonin. And SF drinks. But I haven't put those on goal list. Yet.

What supplement did you add? This cold or the shorter days really have me wanting to eat. At least that is what I think it is. Fighting it and hoping for warmer days

Hi, Id like to join...
Today was day 1. My goal for the week is to stay on plan. Im dealing with chronic constant migraine type pain, lyme disease and fibromyalgia.
Every time I get into ketosis i get super sick, weak and barfy and head explodes with pain. Im going to try to combat by eating low carb tortillas to not get too low at first and If I get super sick, eat some low GI fruit to pull out of the funk and try not to fall off plan.
This week will be huge goal for me, and the second week should determine if I can go ahead and do this woe for good and finally get to goal and feel better!!!

Quoted from an ebook I read last night. This supports this idea of weekly goals, for me, anyway. Now I have to look at last week's goals and set up this week's goals.

"Losing weight and keeping it off isn’t about dieting. It’s not about deprivation and torture either. In fact, if you want to keep the weight off after you lose it, and then you’re not going to take drastic steps."

I have not been setting huge goals, but I have been feeling better about the process.

A phytonutrient. Put out by Mannatech called nutraversus. I am going to go thru 1 whole container of it, and then determine, but so far I am feeling more energy and staying closer to plan.

I have used their supplements before, and definitely not cheap--but good quality. Also added a liquid collagen, and definitely seeing a change in my hair. And I think that will help me feel better about myself, which will help me stick on track.

Week 3: Starting at 192.5 lbs

LC only BF.
20 minutes of exercise every day. (up from 10)
4 bottles of water every day. (cutting back on SF drinks)
Almonds or nuts are only snack allowed.
Coconut or Safflower oil every day....usually in coffee to increase fat (curb hungry)

These were last weeks goals. I have been very good about the VLC breakfast for 3 weeks now. Twice didn't make, and both were restaurant eats.
Had 2 days I did not make the 20 minutes, but goal idea forced me to go the extra effort to get to 20 minutes on 2 days!!!
The snack issue, made every day except 1, when I did have handful of black licorice bites.....(I love black licorice!! But cheap in the clearance bin always gets me....)
Water I did not make. But only had diet pop 1 time this week, and that was yesterday while doing lunch with sister visiting from Canada. So it was a day to not worry about that. Still doing SF in my coffee, but added coconut oil in that coffee helps me make every morning with no snacks....

I did pretty good this week. Lost the 2# I had gained back. Quit the Vit. D and my pain went away. I made my 10000 steps all but 2 days- this weekend I was a slug a bug. So feeling pretty good.

Next week
1 #.
Continue my steps.
Increasing Magnesium in hopes of getting off the Benadryl I'm down from 50 mg to 12.5 mg so I have made progress. I'm still taking melatonin.

Nothing else until after the holidays.

Good sound goals Karen

Glad you got that pound to go away

I looked at my goals, and remember I have to skip the pop at lunch with sister today.......drink coffee or water!
Lobster got to me today.....up 2 # but based on swollen fingers, most will be water.

We have some snow, but no blizzard. Just cold. Sister leaves Wednesday, so then will get back to better food habits...or at least volume.

Misty you always pick yourself and get back in the game. I admire you.

Karen lobster is so good! Too bad it got you. Did you remember no SF pop at lunch? I'm just not ready to let mine go.

We are in the midst of more snow. Getting cabin fever. DH said it was BAD slick this morning and to stay home. Don't know what the additional snow will do. But it is supposed to warm up later this week for a day or two. Being housebound and the cold make me munchie so I have tried to stay busy.

DS gave me and sister massages for Xmas. So did that this morning. Think that got water retention out. But then we went to Burger King for lunch, and I overloaded on diet pop..........
but did deli turkey and cheeses with water for supper......hopefully scale will be back to normal tomorrow

Our weather straightened up, except very very cold......

Back to attain those goals!!!
Did Diet pop at noon, but I am going to make water the only drink outside of meals, and pop only when restaurants (sometimes the water is not good in various small towns)

Did get 20 minutes exercise today.. Started my morning by moving around!!

How about everyone else?

I've been struggling. I seem to want to eat when it is cold. I am staying active tho no formal exercise. If I can maintain thru the holiday season I think I will be happy.

I've never had a massage. What is it like?

We had a couple good days weather wise. Our streets in the boonies are still slick but good once you hit the Hwy. they are calling for freezing drizzle tomorrow night. Then another system moving in later next week. Our weatherman said this will be an active winter. I guess so

Massages are good. But I have found that I enjoy them better if I have a quiet person doing the massage. If talk thru the massage, I do not relax as much. But I get headaches, and it helps relieve the neck stress....

It is really cold here, but no snow.
