I need to get back to the weekly Challenge. It actually worked better for me than doing anything monthly stuff.

Anyone else?

I am going to start easy.

10 minutes EVERY day of some exercise.....above and beyond normal moving around.

That is only thing I am going to specifically target.

I need to set a weekly goal.
So. Continue 10000 steps/day
Gradually increase exercise
This week YAYUG novice 10 min. 2x week
Get eating under control
Try carb cycling x 1 month. Constant low carb doesn't work for my lifestyle

For me it's breaking down the 7 days into low, med. and high carb days. I arrange it according to what is going in my life. I try for at least 2 low carb days - 20 or less a day. 2 Medium carb @ 50-70. 2 High carb @100 or more. Then the 7th is whatever - if I'm home another low carb, otherwise if I'm out i try to stick to medium carb. But it's flexible. I've read a lot of different ways. This is what I came up with for me. It has worked in the past.

Keep posting how you are doing. I will do the same.

Not sure if I am brave enough to try and give up SF drinks. I know the aspartame is dragging me up.....but that is what gets me thru without snacks

I am the same. And the caffeine. Coffee is too much but soda is just right. My Dr suggested I drink 5 hour energy. Expensive. And I didn't care for it.

That surprises me.,..energy drinks overdo for me. Couple energy tablets work better for me. Energy drinks hard on tumy.

He was dealing with my fatigue problem. Even suggested some ADD meds. Apparently they mellow out ADD but liven up regular people. But we decided to work on my sleep problems and pain issues. I'm finally trying to take care my issues and not just every body else. A step forward for me.

This week's goals. This morning back to weight from first of the month. So no damage so far in June........ 193.0

No pop this week.
Continue eating on plan.
Exercise at least 10 minutes every single day.

Weekly average for this week was 194.5.

Did 12 minutes last night while sitting in my chair watching tv. So it can be done, if I just make myself move....a little....

Magnesium is supposed to help sleeping. I read that yesterday. Have some in my cupboard, so digging it out to see what happens.

I am going with weekly challenges, but I am also going out on a limb and post longer term goals. Maybe I have been hiding behind "anything is better than nothing" mindset and have been only getting mediocre at best. (Weight gradually going up over last 2 years, with work and stress as my continuing excuse)

Stating short-term goal of -10# by Aug 28th (Horse show in Minnesota)
mid-term goal of -20# by end of year.
Not setting long-term goal yet..........Thinking 160 as goal weight at my age.
But getting back into muscular shape that has slipped away over the years........going to take longer on setting that idea.

Weekly (with Daily Tracking) targets Starting today at 194.

1) 12 minutes exercise during each day. More if it works out.
2) Lose 1 # per week, based upon weekly average.
3) 2 LC meals each day with 1 healthy meal each day--not so concerned on Carbs. 1 LC snack.

And don't care if others are here. I am going to post every day on how I am progressing.

Anyone else can join, but I am going to do this for me, not anyone else, and see if this method helps me get losing.

It wasn't a good week for me. I was doing medication adjustments to hopefully be able to increase my exercise. So I spent a couple very sleepy days, then a couple nights of barely sleeping so I slept good last night and I'm ready to move forward again.

Wt 135.6 Long term goal 112
Back to YAYOG 2x week long term goal 4x week
LC diet
10000 steps/ day.

I don't have meds to deal with yet, so good luck with that.

I slept well last night too, and didn't do melatonin or anything. Maybe eating on plan is working on some other areas too.

I spent spurts cleaning house yesterday, and pulling weeds around zucchini and tomatoes, so I am claiming 12 minutes of exercise.

Ate on plan, with talking myself into it last night...............would have been real easy to eat leftovers, and be off-plan.. Scale didn't go anywhere, but I ate a large lunch yesterday, and got away with it.............so no complaints!!

Kids had hail damage to their house. 1 broken window and took half siding off the west end of the house...... So I have GS again tonight. Fixed a lasagna-type supper, and then only DD21 came back to eat. So lunch is fixed for tomorrow.

But I thawed a T Bone out for me, and cooked it. So I have stayed on plan all day, also.....

Good for you Karen!

That's terrible about the kids house. I was reading where your area was getting a derecho. We had one the year before the tornado. Lots of damage. I hope you guys fair better and it gets the heck out of there. I'm grateful the nasty weather has left us , but I feel for those getting it now.
