I spent Th night and Fri at the hospital with my DH..He had chest pains that really scared us...Eventually the tests showed his heart is fine....the chest pains were caused by HBP..funny thing is he has never had HBP before...sooooooo we are relieved.BUT I drew a line with him..Im have always been an easy going wife....I don't nag....nor do I try to control his choices...so when I said. ENOUGH it meant something to him....He has agreed to an exercise plan I set up for him....and no more halfa** L/C eating....there are some other changes he is willing to make...and I told him I will hold him accountable...We will do whatever changes necessary to keep ourselves in tiptop form so that we have lots of quality years left together..

I am also proud of the fact that during the last 2 days..Ive under eaten..but I was on plan..the first night I did have a stiff vodka and s/f grapefruit drink thingy when I finally got home..while I cried.. I don't even really like vodka...but then I was done with that..

It was a wake up call....to both of us...we are late 50's and he has loved my energy and how active and vibrant I am...but he fell off the wagon..and became complacent, kinda sinking into the "Im almost 60....this is how it is when you get this age" well the h*ll with that thinking..

He only needs to lose abt 10lbs....so the emphasis is on HEALTH...vibrancy and energy...ok and getting the HBP under control..

I am sorry you had a such a scare Deb... I cant imagine. Hopefully its just the push he needs. Thank goodness he has you to help him know what to do and work with him!!

Beach, the next two weeks are so hard to stay on program. I was doing great but am soooo busy, I cant keep to the 3 hour thing. Then I get ravenous, then I over eat. I think I am just so embarrassed to be only 15 pounds from goal and screwing up every time. If I just stuck with it... oh well. Whatever. I cant let weight depress me.

I can't believe I haven't checked in for so long. So sorry guys! I've still been maintaining and my plan was to start back strong on January 1st. I didn't want to have to worry and stress about it over the holidays with all the parties. I have been really slack about checking in and, as I always say, I will try to be better ! I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!!!

Weighed...160.0..not sure I trust it....How in the world does someone who loses like a snail lose 9.2 lbs since 11.11.13????? Every time I step on the scale I expect a huge gain...because I don't trust the loss on the scale....strangely enough..I do trust the fact that Im now in clothes that are in sz small by any definition... my menopausal ab area is substantially smaller..and I HAVE a WAIST!

I know we are all so busy right now, but I thought I would check in to say Happy Holidays!

I have been off my UD/DD rotations for a few days... Just too hard around the holidays.
I plan to get right back on after Christmas. ( wish me luck! )

Purging my house of crap and getting ready for a Monday start. I am not stepping on the scale....but I don't think I have gained a bunch....last time I checked was x-mas eve and I was within a few ounces of my low...I have eaten A LOT of chocolate

ok, under control a bit. Day 2 of JM Body Revolution completed. Actual exercise after 8 weeks of nothing. Had one glass of wine last night, after dinner and then went to bed.

BTW: a non-scale victory.....Im now a 34C ( closer to a 32C)..down from a D!!!
WOOHOOO... a menopausal D is NOT the same as a 25 yo's D's....!!!!

Beach, remind me again which phase you don't like doing?

They all seem pretty yummy on paper. lol

In fact, I'm secretly terrified to eat all this food. It soooo goes against my normal amount of food I allow myself to eat, that I'm terrified I'll gain weight instead of losing.

I think Phase 2 is really rough. Low carb is one thing...but low carb without fats, cheese, etc....is a whole other ball game ...but it's the phase where you lose the most....so 2 days...huge rewards

I think you'll like it....just when the going gets tough...it changes. What's important is eating EVERYTHING the diet calls for...and that is ALSO rough (at first)...by the end of the first 4 weeks...I was fine eating the food..hungry for it actually

...and I was scared too...but I lost...and have kept it off, even though I have been kind of a pig this week

You have to have a really good non stick pan, which I don't...so I do bakes.
Again....this is why I really don't like P2...it's kind of a pain in the @s$

Tomorrow, I will have pumpkin steel oats and an apple

I use chicken broth for all my cooking in Phase 1. I dont remember if I ever tried it with egg whites. I have a smoothie for breakfast on Phase 1. I am addicted to the steel cut oats and mango with cinnamon (and a little truvia) smoothie. I have it almost every morning and now add a handful of spinach!
