The "big one" just went to the pool (it's HS girls practice right now so he can say hi to the coaches and snag a swim lane and get a workout and some sun) and the "little one" just went for a run. (my 6 y/o niece used to get the boys mixed up and she would get frustrated trying to get their names right so now they are just the big one and the little one. Everyone thinks its funny so it will continue forever even if DS16 ends up bigger than the "big one")

MK, if its mine I'm totally gonna open it.

Becky, we end up eating lots of Mexican when DS20 is home. That's what he really misses since it's very different here than on the east coast or even TexMex.

What day do we open. Ignorant Jewish girl never heard of St. Nicks Day before.

On dinner break.

Lots of car accidents today. Very cold and rainy.

Sending good thoughts to MK too, u will be in my prayers. One of my bridesmaids just went through a scare with her hubby, he was told twice something was wrong with his spleen. He had surgery today and there is nothing wrong with it. Caused her undo stress but it turned out well in the end.

Spent the night looking for my iPod. I left Gracie play games on it and she laid it on the bakers rack. It's black and so is the bakers rack. 5 hours later I found it and I walked past it several times and didn't see it.

Excited for everyone to mail. This is fun!

Still at work. Waiting for PA to write d/c instructions .

My mom is in the hospital. Having a cardiac cath in morning to check coronary arteries. I worry about her. She also has leaky valves. Tomorrow is her 77th birthday too. She went to ER today. Wish I was there.

Oh my, Thanksgiving is tomorrow!
So much going on!

My calendar reminded me today to wish Deb a Monday!
Hope it was a great day! Hugs for your Mom.

Most of my friends were Jewish growing up, so you know I do a mini Hanukkah since my girls aren't exposed to much diversity here. We'll do our tradition on the 8th day next week and pretend our turkey is Kosher tomorrow.

Cindy, so much Fletcher joy! The 'favorite song' thing made me misty too! My kids heard the Les Miz soundtrack in the car when pregnant and after a lot. Nothing funnier than a teeny toddler singing at the top of her lungs 'Do you hear the people sing, singing the song of angry men' running down the aisle of a grocery store! LOL
Loved the Grinch work pic!

MK, so glad your trip to Rome was wonderful and DS is doing great. Hugs about DH and hope all is fine. DD going to be closer in Chicago and DS asking her dad for her hand tomorrow! So exciting.

Becky, Congrats on DD's engagement! He's always sounded like a 'keeper' Good luck with all the scarves your making!

Kelly, Still on the run with water polo and fund raisers! Glad DS20 is home for the holiday. Should I send some cold and snow down there?

Jenn, thrilled about your new house! A coat of paint does wonders! So busy with scouts and all the kids activities, where do you find the time?

Deb, Becky and MK all have engagements in the last few weeks...wow, love is in the air!

I got all I need for Thanksgiving last week while all on sale. Got a HUGE 26 lb. turkey and will just be the 4 of us. We like leftovers! I've had it thawing since last week and have it in the sink ready to brine right now.
I have to work tomorrow and through the weekend, but no deliveries so will be a quick run. And will be out at the height of Black Friday morning, but nothing is more dead than a grocery store the day after Thanksgiving! LOL

I've already done a bit of shopping online, one a new (very) cheapo off-off-off brand tablet. Reviews made me leery if it would work or not so allowed myself to open it early and play with it to make sure I didn't have to return it. It works great and I've been filling it will silly mindless games while I learn Android. Will mess with it a few more days then put it away for under the tree.

Both girls are getting badly needed new phones, and finally found a deal at the Best Buy store in the mall that sells all brands/services. The guy was really helpful after explaining we needed affordability and mainly just texting with an 'iphone look' with a basic plan. He was great.

Haven't officially touched sugar in a month, allowed some breads/grains and still stuck at 120, as least I haven't gained. But so frustrating when you're being 'good' with zero results. Getting to the season I allow 'treats' but was hoping to have dropped a few to give me a buffer to indulge a bit. I'll really want some pumpkin pie tomorrow!

Apologies for being such a bad Shortie poster while its been so busy here.
Time for me to see how frozen the big turkey is so I can get it in the brine.

Hugs and love all around to my favorite ladies!

Kaye, you write the best posts and I appreciate every word!!

With work yesterday did I miss posts so need to go back.

DH woke up at 4:30 and cleaned my downstairs. The man is a saint.

I worked till 11:50 and it is a lazy morning. Need to meet Sarah in 2 hours and need to stop at Honda dealer first. My tire pressure low. May just be cold weather but they will check for free.

Worrying about my mom. I will call my brother soon.

MK, what is your husband having done today? Doctor visit or procedure.

DH mailed my gift today. Will probably get there Saturday or Monday.

Nasty cold windy day. I have been a slug all week!!!

Thanks Deb, I feel bad I've not been online much lately, 'real life' taking up most of my free time.
More hugs for your mom (and MK's DH)

My bird is 23 pounds. Been defrosting for a week. Took it out for many hours yesterday. Should be fine tomorrow I hope. Unwrapping and cleaning later.

Prepping food for tomorrow plus making potato pancakes, sweet potatoes and mashed. Wasn't making mashed but Mirsa and Jordan love them.

Hit send too soon!
Was going to get my nails done Friday but since it's at Walmart and I had a little time before the girls get here I decided to do it now

John and I are doing a little party with then called Sugarplum Fairy party on the 15th. The last tea party I did he asked why I always do it when he's at work. This time I'm doing it on a Sunday so he can join in. It's a tea party and cookie decorating party. I got hello kitty gingerbread houses for them to do

With a REFURBISHED one, of course. Doesn't seem right but oh well! Making a trip to Barnes and noble after the girls leave with brad

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Turkey will go in at 8.

Ours is 23 pounds. Biggest I could find. Bought frozen too. Was a great price. Think it cost 13.50. Still an expensive day. It will be fun though with family and a few good friends.

Made yummy latkes last night. Ate one. Only have around 40. Thought about making a second batch but we have plenty if other things. May serve with the cheese, crackers, hummus, guacamole etc while we hang out before dinner.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Kaye - so good to "see" you! We miss you, understand your sporadic posts, but as Debbie said - enjoy them so much!!!

Glad I am not cooking a big meal today - kudo's to those of you who do. As I have said - Thanksgiving is not a huge deal for DH & I so are fine with kids going to in laws. DD23 is off to DH's family's for brunch today, DD26, DSIL and DGS will come about 10 for caramel rolls, the parade, game, then off to his family's for 2:30 for dinner. DDalmost24 and DH will return and we will probably eat around 5.......vegan Italian stuffed shells! The one "thanksgiving" type food we will have is homemade vegan pumpkin bars for dessert!

Enjoy your day with family and friends! Love and hugs to you all!

I didn't think I could get on here to wish everyone a happy thanksgiving cuz I got locked out from changing my password too many times but all at once I got about 20 emails dumped into my email account. I can't get into the secret question til 805 am tomorrow morning.

Ran 4 miles. Turkey is in. Table is set. Nothing to do till later. Jordan and Becca are here. They brought me a digital frame with all 600 pictures in it. I need to go out breakfast and look at all the photos.

Starving because I never really ate much yesterday. I think I had a protein shake, protein bar and one potato pancake and some tortilla chips.

My mom is fine for now. Her coronary arteries are clear. Her valves not great and she will need surgery if she is continuing to be symptomatic. She isn't all the time. They also feel her reflux causes some of her problems. She takes meds for it though.

Guess my dad got to San Francisco. The weather wasn't as bad as they thought. We are cold and sunny here. The wind is gone.

Going to another wedding venue tomorrow.

Sarah tried on dresses for shape yesterday. She really needs a drop waist ball gown with a sweetheart top.

She is going looking with her mom. I think she found a great dress yesterday but she wants to keep looking. She only tried on two dresses yesterday but it is clear what works for her. She is my height, has no waist and similar chest to me. She just weighs about 15 pounds more.

Hi!

Happy Black Friday!!

Anyone going shopping!?!

Cindy - which DD needs to switch jobs? DS24 was in Neenah with Emily's family - he said they couldn't eat until after the game was over - doesn't sound like the game went well!

Debbie -glad mom is doing well!

Jenn - the food sounds delicious!!

Kaye - I love your posts - wish your real life would slow down so you could hang out with your imaginary friends!!

Becky - Will john wear a pretty hat and new earrings for the tea party?
he'll need makeup too!

Thanksgiving was fun. We had 2 turkeys and all the fixings. First year i ate very little turkey but lots of mashed potatoes, rolls and noodles! Weird! But felt OK afterward!

MK... He just wants the food, I'm sure!! He always gets the leftovers when he gets home and complains they he had to work. Figured we would include him this year since it's a Christmas tea party.

Kim has one client today that visits family, she loved to Nebraska. Then I might go to Senses later to look for a very bradley purse but not sure. My laziness is starting to set in now. Have to go to the bank no matter what cuz I have to get money from moms account for the subway and fixin's for tomorrow.
