Deb got those same candles on my coffee table and on my dry sink. Love them. Got the tappered candles in my windows and there all on timers. So much easier. Great idea for the fireplace. SS your friend is moving. Is she going to be very far from you??

Looked up last year posts...was 186 last year. Now 192.5.....
Now to try and get back to at least that by year-end.

That is a serious goal!

My weight is staying steady, but mentally having a hard time staying on plan. That is what I really hate about "cheat" weekends.... I never want them to stop. I do a lot better with a cheat meal, and then right back on plan.

Deb- sorry to hear about your friend moving.
You crack me up with hoping the power goes out in the building...
I do love the flameless candles I think they are very pretty. I have my house full of Scentsy which smells wonderful, but they do not have that flicker that you get with the flameless candles.. so I have both! Tonight I am going to put in some pumpkin roll scent... and have a cup of pumpkin spice coffee.

Karen- I think you can reach that goal.. it is not so far away.

I am not sure who was making the taco soup... but it sounds yummy to me. I am going to have to look for some recipes.

Exhausted, after the gym went shopping most of the day. Just can't seem to find the things I want. Tomorrow is that time of year again when DH has to go for surgery to get more skin cancer removed. So it'll be a long day. DS said she'll try and come and keep me company and DS's will be up for awhile too.

Deb a dry sink is hard to explain, it's sort of like a cabinet on the bottom and a deep cutout on the top lined with metal. Back in the old days they used to fill the top with water and use as a sink. Mine was my grandmothers so it really old. I love it. May you can google it and they will show a pic. Did you find anything good while shopping???

Karen I know the feeling, my weight is up from last year too. And here I thought I was doing better.Seems that when I finally get things going in the right direction I mess up. That's got to change.

Miss V I just googled scentsys, now I have to get some. I already have tart burners to use with them. Does the scent last long?

Cheryl what you up too, you've been quiet lately. Or are you just tired from the weekend.

Pat you out in the sunshine.

Misty I've been working hard. it's crazy until Jan. plus we are getting a Polar Express Wed nite Thurs. morning so I've been trying to get everything done for this week before it hits. Then I will probably be stranded. Is it headed your way?
Karen I know it is headed your way and V too.

I'm watching BL and had to laugh when Jillian said boy it's hot in Mo. She's not used to our humidty.

Misty hope DH doesn't have a lot to removed. Do you have to go to the city?

Karen my weight is higher too. Discouraging! But onward and downward

Deb on your friend leaving. Did you buy anything?

V I had taco soup this weekend and got the recipe. I picked up everything to make it today. You get cheat weekends?

Pat how is your friend? Is she out of the hospital?

Lisa SS E was sick on birthday. That stinks! How are you?

Hey Everyone... hope you all are having a great hump day. I have been on the run all day again, but staying on plan. Now to work on drinking some water... so far I have had only coffee and an energy drink so I am doing pretty bad on that. (filling my big cup up now)

Misty- Scentsy wax lasts about 5-8 hours per cube.. eight cubes in a pack. So they last quite a long time. They are supposed to be used in an electric warmer though, not a flame. I think they release the scent too fast at higher temps... they are warmed by a 20 watt bulb so they slowly release the scent. I am not sure how they would do in the tart warmer.... But they have 80 plus scents... so you never get bored.

Deb- I will get ya a catalog .. and maybe slip some scents in with it. Is your address the same? The one I have is #103....... You can facebook me if it is different. I like the grape granita scent lately... smells like wine to me.

Cheryl- I would love to have your taco soup recipe.. it is getting really cold here. I am sure you are in the deep freeze too. I am going to need a pot of something hot on the stove! I gave myself a cheat weekend to celebrate my big loss the first two weeks. That is always a huge mistake. So, no more of that. The good news is I did not have a big gain. But, no more loss either.....

Thanks for the recipe Cheryl! Wrote it down, and I think I already have most of the ingredients. We were 63 yesterday at this time, and today it is 27. But we are not getting ice or snow right now... that is the good news.

Yeah we were 70. 39 and falling here. Supposed to get down between 19 and 0 with this system. We had fog all day so everything is damp. DH is getting the snow blower ready.

Made this today. Crockpot chicken with apples and bacon. DH said it was good.

Ingredients:

6 slices bacon
2 tablespoons butter
1 onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup apple juice
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon dried marjoram leaves
1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
3 Granny Smith apples, cored and thickly sliced
1/3 cup chicken broth
1 tablespoon cornstarch
Preparation:

Cook bacon until crisp in large skillet; remove bacon to drain on paper towel; crumble and set aside in refrigerator. Remove all but 1 tablespoon bacon fat from skillet. Add butter and heat over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté and stir until tender, about 5 minutes.
In small bowl, combine apple juice, apple cider vinegar, marjoram, thyme, salt, and pepper and stir into onion mixture. Place in 4-quart slow cooker.

Top with chicken breasts. Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours until chicken is almost cooked. Add apples and cook 40-50 minutes longer on low until apples are tender and chicken is thoroughly cooked to 160 degrees F.

Mix together broth and cornstarch in a small bowl and stir into the liquid in crockpot along with bacon. Cover and cook on high heat, stirring occasionally, until sauce is thickened and bubbly, 10-15 minutes. Serve with some hot cooked brown rice.

Scale finally dropped again today... down 1.5 pounds.
I am doing better on my water today and sticking to my eating plan as well.

Cheryl- congrats on the scale moving in the right direction!! We are in the deep freeze, but only light snow. The wind chill is awful it goes right through my layers of clothes. BRR I hope it doesn't get too messy in your area. There is lots of ice south of us in oklahoma.

Deb- I am getting a little care package for ya today....

Hope everyone avoided the ice storm!!

Went back to these wonderful posts, and see I was 185.5 end of December 31, 2012 and 184.5 Jan 31 of 2013..........

Bad thing is I am 193.5 now........
At least I looked back and I was 185 in January of 2012..........so I haven't gotten too much heavier!!!

Since going to my weekly goals, I have been staying away from SF drinks (pop) and added a nutritional supplement.......and I have not taken melatonin at night for a week, and I have slept thru every night. Just realized I had quit taking them.....
