Krista, this has got to be the very hardest time of year to lose. Between the weather...... we're programmed to hold weight in the winter, and the holidays..... what are the holidays without treats?

Take a mental break and take it easy on yourself. Minimize sugar and grains still though. But enjoy some Christmas foods. Then start back for the New Year. You don't have a lot to lose so once you start back up fresh, I just know you'll do great.

Mjgh....then you only have 1 lb to go!

Even with the recent whooshing I don't expect I'll make the goal. However, if I can see 199.9 before Christmas I'll feel good. Then I'll gain a bit at Christmas, then after I'll have the fun of seeing it dip below 200 again. Win win!

Hum. Just saw I was at 99 posts. Decided I had to hit 100.

Oh yeah...also bought size 12/14 jeans to be prepared. I was able to get them on but very tight. Will try them on maybe once a week. I did that with the 16's I can fit in now really well.

Grrr! Staying completely on plan, but I'm back up to 174.4 this morning. I think I will just wait for tomorrow's weigh-in before I get upset.

Oh sooooo close! Fridays I usually have a carb night, but there is a party tomorrow I plan to attend so will save my carb night till then. I'll avoid wheat though and just have some hot cocoa and maybe a few drinks and sweets. Really want to see Onederland before Christmas.

New low today, but, I am definitely not going to hit my goal! No way I will lose 10.6 lbs. in 2.5 weeks! But slow is better than none, I guess. I will keep at it.

No giving up allowed It's been a frustrating month at best, for many. I've had unwarranted bounces for no apparent reason...I "appear" to be going backwards despite my efforts.. annoying to say the least!
Hanging in there and hoping that January is much different.

Another pound down. Made gift cookies yesterday but only tasted tiny bits. Kept so busy I didn't eat much. Had vinegar chicken, which I admit is starting to get to me LOL, and a couple of uncured, organic hot dogs. Have a party I want to go to tonight. If I don't overdo tonight, and can stomach another week of vinegar chicken, I think I can hit goal before Christmas.

Last night noticed my throat was a bit sore, woke too early again today, throat still hurting. Bet I picked something up at the dentist office on Thursday. And too little sleep for several days now is getting me down. Maybe I'll overdo tonight just to knock myself out and get some extra sleep.

Thanks Danielle!

Can't tell for sure if it's the chicken, but I can't argue with results. Have to run but I'll add the recipe and what I've been doing later today or tomorrow morning.

Well I added JUDDD to my low carb plan because I have been stalled for a week. Still 173.6! Hopefully after a few days I will start to see some progress or I will have to go on a fat fast.

Actually a fat fast is sounding pretty good to me right about now. If I still haven't had any progress by Christmas then I will know for sure that I have developed metabolic resistance (since I am still in the first few weeks of induction). So I am going to wait for a week or two using JUDDD and if I need to go on a fat fast, I will start maybe the day after Christmas?

If necessary, a fat fast for the few days between Christmas and New Years will hopefully push me into the range to achieve this 15 pounds by New Year's goal. AND jump start me into the New Year! Hello ketosis!

Plus, (Merry Christmas to me!), I just bought a ketone monitor and strips (my old urine strips are expired). The new monitor/strips should be here any day now. So it will surely help, too, to know whether I am really in ketosis or not. And now I will be able to measure my blood sugar and test whether certain "low-carb" foods are really as low carb as they claim.

Had my carb night last night, cocktails, tomato rice soup, sweets. Back to real food this morning.

Here's my vinegar chicken recipe. I buy the family size pack of thighs, with skin and bones. I use a large deep skillet with a lid. I brown the thighs in butter, skin side down, then flip them over, sprinkle on a bunch of garlic powder, salt and pepper and a bit less than a cup of apple cider vinegar. Cover and simmer till the chicken is done. Maybe 20 minutes or so. Then cool them quickly and store in fridge.

Eggs and beef haven't been agreeing with me lately. And I'm seeing so much loss with the chicken I'm eating pretty much only that. Nuke a couple of thighs, with the broth, for brunch and dinner. Drink the broth too. I do have some other things on occasion. Like lemon pepper fish fried in butter, etc. And instead of bulletproof coffee, I just have spoons of butter as snacks if I feel hungry, with a cup of coffee on the side. I do make my own grass fed raw butter though. A few times a week I get a craving for cappuccino. I have a french press and milk frother. I use heavy cream instead of milk. I add a bit of stevia to the coffee and cream then sprinkle on cinnamon. I also have pickle cravings on occasion, so have dill pickle spears in the evenings sometimes. Honestly, I probably should try to fit in some greens, but haven't bothered with that yet.

I do indulge one evening a week and still seem to lose at a good pace. It does seem that I have less weight gain when I avoid wheat though, even on my carb nights. So tried the tomato rice soup last night. Will see if rice works better than wheat.

Cute story. Was at my ex's house yesterday. He said to me, "what did you do with your butt?".

Told him I was down 40 lbs now and asked him to guess how much I weighed. He guessed 170. And..being who he is...he wasn't just trying to be nice.

mjgh06 I will pray for your dad.

BringOnTheLard I love the "What did you do with your butt" line. That's hilarious!

I finally dropped another pound yesterday after I decided to go back to induction AND went on JUDDD to get back into ketosis. Three more pounds to go!

I think I can I think I can I think I can....

Dee - Sorry to hear, hope everything is ok.

Just plodding along here.. Up 1.5lbs from start of the month.. Have totally lost my will to eat healthy and have been snacking on chocolates and eating bad, bad, bad foods. Need to get my head back in the game. I think I have just mentally given up. Getting harder and harder to turn it around.

I did two weeks of induction, then went to OWL which caused an immediate stall. Back on induction, added in JUDDD and now the weight is coming off again.

Yeah 171.5. Almost there!

Krista, don't get discouraged. Will be so much easier to start up again Jan 1. If I didn't plan to splurge at Christmas I don't think I could stick with the diet now. Such a very difficult time of year.

Danielle, neck and neck! Been eating eggs the last couple of days, bought too many. I've noticed I seem to get hungry sooner after eggs for some reason though. Gonna make another batch of chicken today but will probably fat fast most of the day. Gotta see the scale move down better tomorrow. I soooo want to hit under 200 before Christmas.

Nikki~ keep up the great work, it all seems to be agreeing with you!

Dee~ I swear, my body is trying to drive me into the nuthouse! Bounced back UP again today +1.2 I'm sure if I'd quit weighing every day I'd be less neurotic...but c'mon, who wants that, right?
I am going to try some of your chicken this weekend, sounds yummmmmm. You want under 200 by Xmas, I want it for you too---how exciting!

So I went ahead and fat fasted yesterday. Went to the fridge for breakfast but not really hungry. And so very much wanted to get under 200 before Christmas. So had coffee with heavy cream and my homemade, grassfed raw butter all day. I still wasn't totally prepared for the scale today.
