Another pound down. Shaking things up with the fat fast and then the carb up seems to have things moving down again. Also trying to eat more as I was feeling sluggish. Also...eating vinegar...wonder if that's helping somehow.

Challenge Start Date 10/24

Agh...but Thanksgiving and Christmas before then. Will be soooo hard.

I'm determined to do whatever it takes though to at least get under 200 before the new year. And determined never to see the 200 mark again.

Grats to all though....folks are getting there. This is a good challenge.

Bring on the lard - Are you eating TG at your house or elsewhere? If at home, you can prepare dishes that are safe, and if you have to go somewhere, bring some dishes with you - like one or two favs. Luckily I am having it at home so everything will be low carb and healthy. I even found a really good sausage stuffing that I am going to try this year.

Oh yes, Thanksgiving is coming up for you guys.
I got my Canadian Thanksgiving Whoopsie out of the way in October.. Now just to make it through all the Christmas Parties & Festivities.. Yup, this will take some major willpower.
The food I think I can make my way around.. The Wine, Baileys, Egg Nog.. Now THAT’S another issue altogether!
NUM NUM NUM!!

MissyDee, I'll be on my own this year. No family in state and separated from my husband this past summer. TG I plan to go low carb, no sweets, just a couple basic dishes. Probably a small turkey then maybe crab bisque and a salad. That egg nog sounds good, have a similar conventional recipe, might make some of that with stevia, and yeah...spiked for sure.

I will probably have cheat evenings Christmas. I want to make some special cookies and some whiskey balls for a friend out of state. I do plan out carb days about every other week, that seems to work well for me. Oddly, they don't seem to cause me to cheat more, I happily go right back on the diet the next morning. Maybe cause I'm so strict the rest of the time?

After debating with myself for weeks, I decided I do mentally need to indulge for Christmas though. Will try to make it just one day and if needed I'll end up doing a few days of fat fasts after. Going to try to get down to a weight before then, close enough that I can fat fast after and still make under 200 for the New Year.

I really do love food. To me a life without ever being able to enjoy good food again is just unrealistic and frankly a little sad. I want to be able to have a treat once in a while and not feel guilty. Just have to remember not to turn those occasional treats into your lifestyle, because that's how we got here in the first place!!

Yup! I really believe that I'm able to do so well since I give myself just that one night twice a month. I've found that the worst thing I can eat is artificial sweeteners though. They set off cravings worse than real sugar so I get no sweets at all cept my carb nights. A lot of folks can stick to the diet fulltime I think because they often use artificial sweeteners, diet pop, Atkins desserts, etc., on a regular basis.

I must say I'm looking forward to baking. It's the one thing I'm doing this year that will feel Christmasy. I will need to set myself some strict limits and stick to them though.

You guys are doing so awesome! Can't believe how many of you ladies are 5+ lbs down already!
I finally got down to business this past week and successfully dodged a few carb bullets while out to dinner three different times. I'm trying Atkins '72 again as it really helps eliminate cravings and potential carb creep. Just need to keep up the momentum if I want to have any shot of coming close to a 15 lb loss by 12/31.

I don't know if I can lose that much but I definitely would love to try!
If I lose 15 lbs, I'd be 7 lbs from the top of the healthy weight range for my height and large frame, so that'd be nice!

Nice whoosh mjgh!

I had an unscheduled carb nite Friday but still losing. Some hormonal water weight loss I think though. Going to have a conventional Thanksgiving dinner. Even pie. But not going crazy. And probably two days at Christmas with some sweets.

I'm down 7 pounds in less than a month. That's the best I've done since the first month. A few things I've been doing are eating more as I don't think I was getting enough calories. And testing that beef might not be helpful for weight loss for me so over the last week eating more chicken (with vinegar) and less beef. Also trying more water. And did a two day fat fast a couple weeks ago. Think I'm going to fit in two day fat fasts each month.

Even with the two holiday splurges, I think I'm on track to make my goal.

Another pound gone. The scales have been good to me since the two day fat fast. But I've also been eating more overall consisting of more chicken and vinegar but less beef. Maybe it's just by shaking things up. Even an off week carb night didn't slow it. However I just realized I've also been using less dairy and cheese. Hummmmm.
