Day One...Horrible sugar cravings! Help!
It's Day one for me beginning my low carb lifestyle. I've been having horrible sugar cravings in the later part of the day. Any suggestions or comments on how t overcome these cravings?

I have been on atkins for 7 weeks (almost) and I completely understand! Don't stop.. The first week I lost 10 pounds! Try to get some atkins bars.. I also eat sugar free Reece's cups! Delicious!!!!!

Lots of water! And if you don't mind sugar substitutes, have them where you can either as pre made snacks or make your own. Stick to it, after a while, they go away xxx

definitely drink lots of water. Everytime a craving hits, drink a glass of water. Just to distract yourself.

also try a spoonful of natural peanut butter sprinkled with splenda. Not exactly meant for induction, but it definitely takes the edge off!

I eased into LC by quitting sugar and grains and substituting milk which has some carbs and lactose (milk sugar). After a while doing that I was able to LC with almost no cravings. I've been VLCHF for months and don't really get cravings. I tried for a while to use artificial sweeteners and make desserts but I found that really messes me up. Even a diet stevia soda or a piece of sugar free gum causes me to crave sweets/carbs for about 2 days after. As long as I stay very strict there are almost no cravings at all. And yeah, evenings are the worst.
