BecBelle 10-01-2013 11:06 AM

Howdy y'all!
Is this the new blitz thread? If so I'm marking my spot. I have nothing new to report, just sticking to the plan.

tony8 10-01-2013 12:58 PM

hey mimito!...thanks!...

Gibby 10-01-2013 01:16 PM

I'm here.

Gibby 10-01-2013 04:35 PM

I just heard that a friend of mine passed away this morning. I knew she was struggling with some health issues, but didn't realize it was this bad. Feeling very sad.

tony8 10-01-2013 04:55 PM

awwww, marilee...so sorry to hear that... :-(

we're here if you need a shoulder...

Abigale 10-01-2013 05:01 PM

:console: so sorry Marilee.

BecBelle 10-01-2013 05:13 PM

Marilee, I'm sorry. :console:

Abigale 10-02-2013 03:47 AM

Marilee, your halloween kitty is so cute!

Just took the trash and recycling out to the road. Phew, feel like I have already put in a full day's work. I will be glad when DH gets better. He went to see his in town Dr. yesterday who has put him on another round of antibiotics for the infection. He also took blood to run some tests.

I am taking tomorrow off to go to North Bennington, Vermont to visit our neighbors when I was child. We moved away when I was 11. Mrs. K is 90 something now and just as sharp and funny as she was then. Her daughters who were my childhood friends will be there plus ususally 2 or 3 of their brothers drop by too. My younger sister is going with me and maybe one of my brothers. It will be alot of laughs.

I am still eating the rest of the egg plant with ground beef, mushrooms and pizza sauce. I roasted the rest of the eggplant in small chunks yesterday before it went bad. Free lunch yesterday was cold cuts and rolls. I had brought my lunch so had some lettuce, tomato, one slice of turkey and one slice of cheese with a little mayo as a side salad.

I can't believe we are on the last Blitz of the year! Where did the time go?

Thanks Mimito for starting the new blitz. My grand kids call me MiMi!

Have a great day all!

tony8 10-02-2013 04:54 AM

dear anonymous, :-) your day off tomorrow sounds like fun as it always is when you get together with mrs. k and her family...i LOVE eggplant...had some yesterday...

weigh in this morning - i'll report in later...busy day and class tonight...

are mimsy and mimito two different people?...

flatferenghi 10-02-2013 10:27 AM

I got it....well, most of it. they stiffed me 1 month's worth. i suppose it will take another 8 months to rectify, but at least i can exhale, for a while. My condolences for your loss, Gibby. There is never a good time for this, is there? My game plan is to stay on ATKINS Induction till I get down to 249 lbs. AND, I shall not bring anything into the house over which I have no control. I will be at the Dr. either Sat or Mon. Events are always compelling me to change my plans. Whichever day I go, I will stop by to keep y'all up to date weight wise. I have no plans to get a new computer before I turn 65. I am 62. I must do something about stress. stress causes cortisol in the system, and cortisol inhibits weight loss, and exacerbates ldl type b, and raises blood pressure. i cannot afford that. i will try melatonin, and drink camomile tea. that should help. Hope to "see" y'all Sat, or Mon the latest. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

Abigale 10-02-2013 04:22 PM

Ha ha Tony. Yes, it will be such fun at Mrs. K's!

Mimsy and Mimito are two different people.

tony8 10-02-2013 07:35 PM

thanks anonymous! :-)

Abigale 10-03-2013 02:45 AM

You're welcome!:agree:

I am bringing little maple sugar scented day lights to the K family this morning. I also made some mini almond cheese rounds to bring too. I left off the garlic powder because when I put it in once before it was too strong. I may bring some kind of cream cheese spread to put on them to perk them up a little.http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/lo...se-rounds.html

FF, so happy to hear from you and very happy you are getting your pension now. I wish you would not wait until you are 65 to get a new computer. We would love to hear from you more often!

Hope you all have a great day Blitzers! I will check back this afternoon.

tony8 10-03-2013 04:54 AM

ff, so happy you finally got SOME of what they owe you...sheesh, it is criminal they way they are handling your pension, but hopefully now the stress will be drastically reduced...i think you have an excellent plan...have you thought about picking up a scale?...hope you reconsider the computer...we do miss you...

hey lucy, have fun today...the snack and the candles are very thoughtful...we are supposed to have another awesome weather-day today!...

class went well last night...spent two days reading and doing homework around the other work i had to do...more running around today...i feel bad for my son - he left monday for a road trip to yellowstone with a friend - they had been planning this trip for a long time and the national parks are closed...he is in south dakota trying to figure out how to salvage the trip...what a bunch of nit-wits in washington...

have a great day everyone!

Gibby 10-03-2013 12:31 PM

Hi all....

Crazy week. Not much to report. Still sad about my friend. I'm leaving early today to meet the repairman at my house. I hope he can fix my dryer, otherwise, I'm looking at a big expense.

Turtle50 10-03-2013 01:45 PM

I've been looking for a challenge to join and three months sounds good, as I sit here burping from my latest food cheat. Sometimes the food cheating urge hits and runs, and sometimes it just hits. Tony, I love that saying, about staying one step ahead of your pants. I refuse to deal with my scale anymore, partly because I can't see the numbers without my glasses. So scale, forget you! Clothes judgments only!

Abigale 10-03-2013 02:35 PM

Hey Turtle50! Thanks for joining us! Feeling your clothes getting looser is really the best test that you are losing inches. That darn scale is so fickle - you can't trust it!

Tony, Mom always said "a child that's loved has many names" lol

My sister, brother and I had a wonderful time at the Kenyons today! It was just as much fun as I imagined it would be. Lots of laughs, looking up the hill at the little cape cod house Dad and Grandpa built. My sister was only 3 when we moved although she has been over with Mom, Dad, our older sister etc in the past. She had to suffer with my brother and I reminiscing as we drove around the little town.lol

Marilee, hope the drier is just a broken belt. That will be easy to fix.

Bec, Mimsy and MiMi, how are you all today?

tony8 10-03-2013 03:02 PM

hi ethel!...happy you had fun at your friends' house...that little cape is beautiful...has your brother ever painted it?...i'm wondering if you told me he had or if i just think it would be a good idea!...

mimsy, mimito, bec - hope y'all are having a good week...

welcome turtle!...we've all been there and done that, so don't beat yourself up...great to have you with us...we are pretty laid back and non-judgmental, except for natalie who can get a little testy from time to time :-)

thinkin about ya, marilee...your friend would be sad to know you're sad...maybe try to do something joyful that you used to enjoy together...wish we could help...

Abigale 10-04-2013 02:26 AM

Ethel here, lol. My brother has never painted our old homestead but we did look at some paintings yesterday that someone had painted of the Kenyon's house! Tony, if you are ever bored you can do some detective work and figure out my real name. The first month I ever posted here I pretty much said what it was. Blitz V, April 1 - June 30, post #420. Well at least it is narrowed down to 3 choices! I was sort of expecting someone back then to say, I thought your name was Abi! lol

Just cooked up a burger to take for lunch today. Have some small almond cheese rounds for snacks.

Glad today is Friday and payday!

Have a great day Blitzers!

BecBelle 10-04-2013 06:07 AM

I'm doing good, on plan and at a new low 273 lbs.

tony8 10-04-2013 08:04 AM

wow, bec, that's awesome!...i'm so proud of you!....

abs, i can't believe how organized you are!...how the heck do you know where to find a post you made way back when???...i can't find what i wrote yesterday...i do remember now that you posted that...thanks for reminding me cuz it was so nice to see your mom again...i miss hearing about her!...

okay, so i was up 1.4 lbs. to 230.2 on wednesday so two restrictions in place until i get to 228.6 or below: 9 p.m. curfew and no bread or pasta...i've been eating too much salt lately and feel a bit bloated so i am gonna try to flush and reduce my salt intake too...

lots of stuff to do today - i'll check back later!

Gibby 10-04-2013 08:29 AM

Good job, Bec! I wish I could say the same - I went off the rails yesterday.

Hi Turtle50! Welcome to our motley crew.

Hey Ethel, where's Lucy?????

Turtle50 10-04-2013 10:17 AM

Thanks for the welcomes, everyone. Yesterday ended with a pint of Ben and Jerry's, but today is a new start, it's Friday and I packed my on-the-rules lunch last night and didn't forget it in the refrigerator. Success!

I think, due to the clothes looseness thingie, I can safely say that I'm a size 16 right now. So my goal is size 12 petite for New Year's Eve, and I will drink to that.

That is, I will drink to that as soon as I get home, which should be about five hours from now. Hurray to distilled liquor being carb-free!

Hope everyone's having a good Friday.

tony8 10-04-2013 01:16 PM

hey marilee and turtle, just shake off the bad day - we all have 'em...it's amazing how one good day can turn things completely around!...go have one :-)

Abigale 10-05-2013 05:34 AM

Hey Turtle50! Ice cream is one of those things I find hard to resist. I was thrilled when DH switched to fruit yogurt instead of ice cream. I have no trouble resisting the yogurt and am glad there is no ice cream in the freezer. Do you have a special place you go on New Years Eve? Will you get to wear something all glittery? A size 12 will look great in any style!

Plan for the day are hamburg patties, low carb catsup, and "buns" made out of almond meal, mozzarella and eggs. Very filling. Keeping carbs to under 30 and calories under 1400. Of course, having my coffee with cream. Cream is 50 calories per Tbl. so am adding those into my calories and carbs.

Will check back later to see how everyone is doing this weekend!

Turtle50 10-05-2013 06:14 AM

Hi Abigale,

I am a slave to ice cream. My dad is too, so I blame him. I don't keep any in the house, so I'm just in danger when I go to the grocery store.

Your plan for the day sounds yummy. I rely a lot on cream and eggs. Really helpful if you check calories too, which I do also, every once in a while, just to see if I'm doing well in the "conventional diet" sense too.

Hope everyone has a clean eating weekend. I know how it is --- drive, drive, drive, errand, errand, errand, then all of a sudden it's 2:30, I'm starving, and "oh, hey, there's Chipotle's!" I try to bring snacks. Sometimes it even works.

Sadly, I am going to blow it big-time tomorrow. I agreed to meet my friend at a buffet that she insists is really worth it. We were going to go to the Renaissance Faire, but the tickets are $22 now. That's crazy. So she suggested the buffet, and, dummy that I am, I said "Sure!" Why, oh why, didn't I suggest a movie instead? I hate movie popcorn. It would have been perfect.

Oh, well, it's just one meal. I'm glad that your meal plan is going to be much better than mine for this weekend, Abigale.

Abigale 10-05-2013 08:03 AM

Turtle, the only advice I can give you on the buffet is to eat a big low carb meal just before you go so none of the tempting stuff makes you go overboard. Don't tell your friend, just say you are not terribly hungry. lol

tony8 10-05-2013 10:27 AM

omg, i love movie popcorn!

Gibby 10-05-2013 12:17 PM

Movie popcorn and ice cream - you guys are killing me!

So, this morning I went to my butcher shop and stocked up....sirloin steaks, rib-eye steaks, ground beef, chicken legs and thighs, pork chops, medium rare roast beef sliced, provolone cheese, bacon :yummy:

Now later I will go to the grocery store and get LC veggies and salad makings.

On track!!!!!

All times are GMT -7. The time now is 09:27 AM.
