hey bec, art moves at its own pace...i look forward to seeing your stuff when it's ready...

good workout this morning...skipped b-fast, had a chicken thigh for lunch and the insides of a steak bomb for dinner...

weighed in at 230.2 again today - i am exactly the same weight as i was a week ago!...that means a 3rd restriction:
1. 9 p.m. curfew
2. no bread or pasta
3. no potatoes or rice

the next restriction, if necessary, will be no fried food...

Tony, sorry you are still on restriction. What is a steak bomb?

We will be closed for Columbus day so looking forward to a 3 day weekend! Need to start bringing some wood into the garage to get dried out before we need it for the wood burning stove. We keep it covered with a tarp but we have had some torrential rain storms lately and the tarp just not cover all the wood. So have my exercise cut out for me this weekend!

Have tuna packed for lunch again. Maybe burgers for dinner.

Have a great day Blitzers!

It's raining! What a lovely surprise. It's just a nice gentle rain, but I needed to use my windshield wipers on the way in to work. They say it will stop by 10, but it's wonderful. 75 degrees today - WOOT! WOOT!

I didn't take the sunset picture. Viewers email their pictures in to the local TV stations and I copied one of those. I am not a picture taker - never have been. I will try and get one of the patio area, but not until my bouganvillia bloom. They came back from the bad frost last winter, but I haven't had any flowers yet, which is a major bummer, as that's why I had them put in - a beautiful red color.

On plan - slow and steady wins the race!

Tony, I admire your ability to stay strong on your plan. On a side note, the man who owns the meat market I go to is of Italian decent. He makes all of their sausages by hand, etc. Well, I made a special order for his braciole, which I had before and it's wonderful! I'll be picking it up on Saturday. Yum!

marilee, my mouth is watering!...thanks for the encouragement...if i want to get to a healthy weight, i have to hold myself accountable...i am proud of myself for adding the gym to my routine - it's been 10 months since i started going and i have been pretty diligent about getting there 3-4 times every week - that has to have made a difference in my health...

so while i have definitely converted some fat to muscle, i still have too much fat...i will be much happier when i get back to the 210 range - then i can make my assault on 1derland!...i can't believe it has been more than 11 months since surgery!

abs, want me to come over and help you carry that wood?...how is hubby feeling after running around the other day?...enjoy the 3-day weekend...not sure what we will be up to...

more work to get done...i will check back later!

Can someone enlighten me on the "turning fat into muscle" thing? Fat is fat and muscle is muscle. Fat can't become muscle and muscle can't become fat. I'm not being a SA, I truly don't get it. I assume they mean burning off fat and getting stronger muscles, but it sounds strange.

Great going, Bec, and everyone seems to be on track. I love that everyone has their own version of eating, but we're all low carb. I attended a day-long seminar yesterday that had a free lunch and I was very impressed with myself for taking the bread off the sandwiches (two types! This was one high-cotton free lunch) and skipping the desserts, which I will not name, so as not to trigger anything for anybody.

Hey Tony, still don't know what a steak bomb is.

Abigale, hope the hubby is feeling okay after the exertion. When you start exercising after a long time of not doing anything, it can be pretty painful, even if you're trying to start slow. At least it was for me. BTW, what do you put in your tuna? I can't eat it without what I feel are ridiculously large amounts of mayo, and that's it.

Good day today, diet-wise. I'm off to my first yoga class in twenty years. Can't believe it's been that long.

marilee, you are absolutely correct - sorry for the confusion...i should have said replacing the fat i am burning with heavier muscle :-)

a "steak bomb" is a sub that is made up of shaved steak, onions, peppers, salami and provolone cheese...i ate the filling and tossed the roll...

hey turtle, have fun at yoga!...btw, nice job resisting the carby stuff at lunch yesterday!

hey ff, where the heck are ya?...we need a complete update...

Hey Blitzers! TGIF!

Some of you know I have been experimenting with making a wheat less wrap with no luck. Well I made one this morning that really works! I didn't even make it like the original recipe and it still worked great. It is easily foldable and does not crack. almost like rubber But the taste is mild and one wrap is only about 6 carbs. I will try to figure it out later for exact carbs and calories. I made an egg salad wrap for breakfast and have one for lunch. You can google stupid easy paleo simple paleo tortillas to see pictures and the original recipe. I didn't have arrow root but someone had used tapioca flour so I used that. I forgot the teas. of coconut flour and it didn't matter. It also has two eggs, a little salt and 1/8 teas. of baking soda.

I can see lots of possiblities with these.

Tony, wow, that steak bomb sounds delicious!!

Turtle, I have to use alot of mayo too and have never been able to make a good homemade mayo. I am thinking about making a cream cheese spread from an old family recipe, spreading a thin layer on these wraps and then using sliced chicken as the main filling. Fantastic you are getting back into yoga!

DH felt terrible after his busy day, took it easy and then yesterday started cleaning the garage and chopping some wood. So he is making himself move even though he is miserable. Maybe in time it will work itself all out or he will just get used to living with pain.

Will check back in after work.

abs, as long as the doc is okay with it, i think dh trying to move around and do stuff every other day will eventually lead to him feeling better...he should avoid things that put undue strain on his back until he learns and does strengthening exercises for it, but just walking and exercising may help...

maybe you should go into the LC wrap making business...i'd buy some... :-)

lots to do today...i'll be back later...

Happy Friday!

Hey, Abi, I'm burning the Pumpkin Spice candle in my office and at least 4 people have told me how nice and homey it smells!

This weekend is stock-the-pantry weekend....all the basics; canned tomatoes, LC catsup (or ketchup), mustard, mayo, chicken broth, etc. Keeping a stocked pantry helps me stay on track. I am going to go off plan a teensy bit and have some corn - I have a recipe for some wonderful pumpkin soup using real pumpkin and I try to make it every year at this time. It has corn in it (along with other things).

ff, we miss you! I hope you get to the library soon and check in.

Have a great day....TTYL

Hello everyone!

Sorry to go MIA on you, life has been extremely busy. I've put on a few extra pounds, and I need to get back to "friends and family" online.

Hope everyone has been well. I will try to get caught up on reading and see what everyone has been up to.

In the mean time...

Nice to be back!

All my stats are wrong...I'm back up to 175, but working on that!

good day so far...have a big crock pot full of ground turkey chili cooking on the counter - it already tastes so good and will be simmering for another few hours - no guilt and all healthy ingredients...yum!

Tony, it really is an easy recipe. I'll submit it this weekend.

It has pumpkin cubed, corn, garlic, onion, BACON, canned tomatoes and sage.

Hey Lori! Glad you are back with us!

Marilee, so happy you are enjoying the pumpkin spice candle. It is so nice at this time of year. You are so smart to get stocked up on low carb provisions and can't wait to see your recipe for the pumpkin soup.

Tony, your chili also sounds delicious. Don't you love to smell it simmering all day? DH's surgeon told him he was good to go and get back to normal. I think he is being forced to only do stuff every other day as he tries to recuperate.

I got my wood stocked in the garage up to a couple of feet high. that will help DH add some to the stack without having to bend over very far.

I had an egg salad wrap for breakfast and it really hit the spot! Found another recipe on the stupid easy paleo site for chicken that starts with marinating chunks in dill pickle juice for at least 3 hours. I will let you know how that turns out!

Will check back later to see what Bec, Mimsey, Turtle and the rest of the Blitzers are up today. It sure would be great to hear from FF today too!

wow, there's been a busy little beaver on the western side of the state...hope you get to relax a bit this weekend...how are the colors now?...peak?...just pre- or post-peak?

i have a bit to do here to get ready for colder weather...drain the pool a bit and cover...winterize the pool pump and heater...empty, clean and refill the hot tub...get the plow ready to go...empty out the storage room...then get rid of an acre of leaves once they all fall...then i've gotta deal with the cottage and work winterization...

better get started!...see y'all later on... :-)

Looking forward to my "usual" breakfast Tony!

The chicken recipe marinating the chicken in dill pickle juice was ok. The chicken was very tender but not sure I like the pickle juice flavor. Probably will chop it up and make a chicken salad for wraps.

My brother from Georgia is up for a couple of weeks. He and my other brother were planning on hiking up Mt. Washington yesterday. I was invited but said no thanks! I bet it was a pretty cold walk. We are all getting together Thursday night at the Marina. Should be fun!

Hoping my niece from Cleveland will be at breakfast today. She is in town for afew days.

Have a great day Blitzers! Will check back later.

wow abs, your brothers can scale mt washington?...they must be in great shape!...i did it years ago and coming down was much harder than going up, but it was a significant physical accomplishment...

when you mentioned pickle juice, i cringed a bit...i like pickles, but generally don't like other foods pickled...and i only use vinegar in salads, for the most part...

totally vegged out yesterday...dw, ds and i just hung out all day and never went outside...it was cool and drizzly...today is a different story...i will hit the gym and then get some stuff done around the yard...

ff called me yesterday and said he is doing okay...he finally got his pension, except for the first month, and is under less stress...still hasn't made it to the doc for pain meds, but is hoping to do that this week...he sounded good and wanted me to say hi to everyone :-)

okay, gotta get to work and get this body moving again...hope everyone has a great day!

wow, nobody around all day?...hope everyone is having too much fun to get on the computer :-)

i'm having a good day...had a good workout at the gym, then worked outside all day closing up the pool and various other projects...my legs are kinda sore tonight but they will be fine tomorrow...

i'm headed to nashville on thursday - not returning til the following wednesday...my youngest son is flying down for the weekend...

not much else to report...ate the toppings off 2 slices of homemade pizza (cooked on the grill)...and had a salad for lunch with evoo, balsamic vinegar and feta cheese...no breakfast...

Yes, Tony, my brothers are in great shape. The one who lives locally was a terrific marathon runner when he was younger. He went to the olympic trials twice. He does not run any more but hikes and rides his bike hundreds of miles every year. The one from Georgia works out alot and volunteers building homes for Habitat for Humanity. They make me feel like a slug. lol I like working at a job where you have to move around alot but absolutely do not like to "exercise". lol

So happy that FF has his pension and hope he can get some pain medicine that works. You couldn't talk him into buying a laptop? Sure do miss hearing from him.

I have been cleaning some venetion blinds this morning. I find washing each slat one by one sooooo tedius. Had this brain storm to put them on the picnic table and put windex in a bucket. Then took a small one inch wide paint brush and painted on the window cleaner. It worked great to get in those hard to reach places under the strings. Then just dumped a bucket of water on them to rinse. Hung them on the dog run wire to drip dry and rehung them in the windows. Phew, that's my exercise for the day.

Good going on getting your pool closed for the winter. Boy, that homemade pizza sounds good!

Will check back later! Have a great Monday Blitzes!

wow, abs, they make me feel like a slug too!...good idea with the blinds - you are clever...i would have turned the hose nozzle on high and obliterated them!...haha...

did some food shopping and filled the house with good, healthy food...lots of good choices around...

it's been the abi and tony show around here for the last few days...where are the rest of the kids?

ff says he might buy a computer when he turns 70...he is a piece of work!

I guess as long as FF has his opera DVDs he is happy as a clam!

I would have used the hose to rinse off the blinds instead of filling a bucket and dumping it on them but the hose is already put away for the winter and I didn't want to drag it all around to the back of the house.

I guess all the rest of the Blitzers are just chilling out today!
