Oh my goodness Tony your granddaughter is really beautiful!!! Babies are so wonderful!!!! My future SIL really wants to start a family in the next year or two, but my daughter wants to wait a while longer....it'll be interesting to see who wins that argument! If they're anything like us it'll just happen despite any plans or thoughts otherwise!

Went to the store and loaded up on eggs and meat....had an omelette this morning stuffed with sausage and cheese and about an ounce of taco meat with cheese for lunch......and 2 cups of of the bullet proof coffee.....LOVE that stuff!!! (Note to self: take it easy on the coconut oil!! )

I also went for a nice 30 minute BRISK walk with my fitness nut son.....he's a sneaky little #!@%.......lured me into a lovely neighborhood "just to see the houses" that happened to be a VERY steep hill.....I'm going to feel that tomorrow!!

How's everyone else doing?

Tammy, you are off to a good start with your meals and that sneaky exercise jaunt. lol We are so happy to have you back!

I have packed some leftover pot roast that I divided up into a couple of meals in the freezer. Going to check to make sure they haven't called off work. I know everything is icy out there but I am hearing the sand and salt trucks go by. We had alot of rain yesterday and last night but were just warm enough for it not to be snow. Yay!

Tony, Amadora is so cute. It does not take long for us to bond to those little ones does it!

Vicki, just want to say how happy we are to have you back too!

Marilee,

Marilee, how did the protein shake day go? We won't be doing anything New Years Eve either. I have felt for years the best way to start the new year is to be well rested! lol

Have a great Monday Blitzers!

Thanks Abi, you're such a love!!! I'm kicking myself over NOT losing this weight over the years and even regaining some of it back.....it's very frustrating! This time I need to stay focused and just DO THIS!! Off to a great start today.....love this BPC that Viki talked about....it's making easy to kick my coffee creamer habit!

well guys, i went to the gym this morning and had a great workout...it was a bit harder after a week off, but not too bad and my back seems to have held up, at least so far!...

every person i meet is hearing about my granddaughter...haha!...an italian lady at the grocery store loved her name and taught me how to pronounce it correctly...i can't wait to see her later today...em and her college roommate are coming over and spending a couple of days, i think...if so, we will stay home tomorrow and get some chinese food...

marilee, wish you lived closer and i could talk you into coming over :-) what's everyone else doing for new years?

Tony, I have been meaning to ask you how you pronounce Amadora's name. Is it Am as in "I am" or does it sound like "Om". My last name is pronounced "Am" idon.

Tony, I like that pronounciation of Amadora. By the way, are you ready for the big storm coming Thursday and Friday. Oh man!

We have decided to have dinner at my brother's house in Brattleboro with the gang on New Years day night instead of a restaurant. We feel like we can visit better with brother and wife from Georgia in that atmosphere and we need to do it then rather than risk it on Thurs or Fri night. No one wants to drive in that mess.

Free lunch at work today will probably be pizza. I will eat the tops of two slices.

Tammy, your New Years plans sound lovely. Glad you are enjoying the BPC!

Have a great day all!

Happy New Year Blitzers!!!

Good morning! It's almost here - a brand new year and a fresh start for a lot of things.

Tomorrow is THE GREAT PANTRY/REFRIGERATOR CLEANOUT!!!! Then a trip to the grocery store for a major stocking of both with healthy foods and on-program foods. I am so disgusted with myself. This has been a hard year in a lot of ways, as I've shared before, but this is the first year where I lost my hope in my weight loss battle. I've gained 20 pounds. I'm limping worse than ever. I have difficulty breathing when I walk. Can we say, WAKE UP?!
I may be a "senior citizen", but I'm not that old and I sure don't want to spend the rest of the years God has given me to live like this. What does it take? What is the "thing" that keeps us motivated and on track? Why do we fail? Why do we sabotage ourselves? I don't know, but I'm tired of it.

As I close out the year, I like to give a prayer of thanks for the many blessings that I have and a hope for the year to come. One of my "thanks" is my Blitz friends - you have sustained me this year and keep me from going way off the deep end. I love you all and appreciate your being there. Gosh, I've got tears in my eyes. I better get to work.

TTFN

Marilee, I'm sorry you had such a rough year!!! You're off to a great start for 2014 though, and yes a good thorough pantry / fridge cleaning is always good for the soul....and the waist line!!!

You can do this, we've all had our back slides, heaven knows I've had mine....there's no sense beating your self up over it....just recognize it, learn from it and MOVE ON.....that's my challenge to myself!! If we could explain all the reasons we self-implode I'd venture to guess we could write one heck of a Psychology book and retire to a beach somewhere and sip mai-tai's all day! Hey, come to think of it, I'm part way there....I'm living at the beach....now all I need is the wealth and the mai-tai's!

Ok kids, tonight is New Years Eve.....every one be SAFE and make good choices......and if you make bad choices be sure to share all the juicy details tomorrow so we can live vicariously though you!

haha tammy...i just had some chinese food and it was yummy...mostly low carb, but i had some fried rice too...how did it taste vicariously? :-)

marilee, we love you too...you guys are family to me...seriously, how else can you describe a group of people who you correspond with virtually every day???...you guys are there through the triumphs and set-backs...i hope i have given you guys half as much support as you've given me....

marilee, a lot of us have had a rough time right along with you this year...maybe it was the 20"13"...i have a great feeling about 2014...good for you for cleaning the house out!...i do the same thing by sending the kids and guests home with every "bad" thing people bring or send us for the holidays...haha!...although i've tasted too many of them first!

abi, sounds like a great new year's day...any plans for tonight?...

my second and third sons, second son's gf, emmy, sal, the baby and emmy's college roommate are all here for nye...emmy's family and her roommate got here yesterday and are staying til tomorrow...it's so nice...

abs, i put the plow back on the truck today waiting for the storm...i hope it was for nothing! :-)

happy new year's everyone!

Happy New Year Blitzers!

Tony, I spent new years eve like I have for years. Get to bed early and wake up rested and ready to face the new year! lol

I hope getting the plow ready is for nothing too.

Marilee, getting the stuff out of the house is so wise. Wish I could do the same thing but DH is a real junk food junkie.

I too am thankful to the whole gang for all the love and support I feel here in good times and bad.

I am off to church at 7:30am and then looking forward to getting together with brothers, sisters and spouses tonight.

Let's all have good first day of the year and build on that!

Have a great day Blitzers!

i agree abs...let's all have a good day...today, although the first, will be a transition day for me...i will stay away from the sweets and junk food today, but allow myself healthy food and not be too carb conscious (other than sweets and junk) and then get extremely serious tomorrow...i'm in nashville next week and that's always easier because there is no junk in the apt. and i have to go shopping the day i get there...

sarah is flying back with me on the 10th, and then on the 12th, my four siblings and their families will come to our house for a "holiday" gathering, but mainly to see amadora and sarah...that will be so nice...we haven't all been together since last april when we had our sibling dinner...

i fell asleep on the couch and the kids woke me up 7 minutes before midnight to wish in the new year...it was a nice, laid-back celebration...amadora was awake and fell asleep as soon as the ball dropped...she's 9 days old and has already ushered in 2 major holidays!...haha

HAPPY NEW YEAR, KIDDOS!...hey, who is starting the new blitz for ff?...please post a link when you do!

Catching up!

Congrats Tony!! Beautiful!

Welcome all!

I have tons of news. I will save the good stuff for later. The bad is I went completely off plan for the last 10 days and the results are UGLY!

Started back today and am feeling better. I had forgotten (again) how badly carbs make me feel.

Snippets of good:

1. New puppy! YAY!
2. Dairy Goats!
3. Prague Visit.

Will report on these items later.

Happy New Year!!
