I qualified for my Concealed Carry License today!! 95% on my shooting, but unfortunately no fingerprints!! Seriously, they couldn't get a good print on the digital machine!

The DA is a friend of mine so I talked to him when I got home - after he told me I should consider a life as a criminal (ha ha) he told me he'd get in touch with the sheriff and see if the jail can get my prints on their machine.

Oh.goody. I get to go to booking with all the criminals and get my prints taken! If you don't hear from me after Monday, bail money should be sent to my home address . . . .

Wonder if Grandma Cindy has time for St Nick organizing this year .. . ..

I'm here!

Cool about the concealed carry, MK.
DH has one. Maybe I told you that!

Kids went home today. Waiting for them to call. Am picking up lunch and going out there to return my canine houseguest, bring them dinner and see my little grand. I didn't go up yesterday as DD was overwhelmed with company so gave she and DSIL space - she needed to rest. People really need to use their heads when deciding on visiting a new mom - especially one that had a csection, in the hospital. And do you really need to bring your little kids??

If we are doing St. Nick; we should prob see who's in, and do the drawing name thing......

Welcome to the world Fletcher!
Congratulations Gramma Cindy!

Beyond horrible poster Kaye here
Guilt about being so busy and not getting online much, but that's an upside meaning I'm getting 'real life' stuff done!
Finally had a quiet moment to sit down and read up on my favorite ladies!

Cindy, so excited about the new member of your family. Glad mom and baby are doing great, though a little longer healing time with the c-section.
Condolences for your friend at work. So sudden and so sad.

MK, Congrats on your CC license! Hugs about DH's ear, but glad you had baby bird visits! The new hair is great!

Deb, the wedding sounds like it went just fine, YOU looked fabulous! Loved the pics.

Happy Belated Birthday Becky, You were in my thoughts as you're on my master calendar!

Kelly, scary about the blowout on the highway. Glad that worked out the best way it could have! Lots going on with you too!

Jenn, on the run as well. Always something happening when you have young kids! Hope you're feeling better.

How do I catch up about a month of non stop running? Both girls going to college classes, and youngest still has her job at Wendy's. DH and I working as usual. All in between car repairs, getting house and yard ready for winter, chicken and pet care. So tired by the end of the day.

Youngest had a Halloween party here last night. A few weeks of prep for that, and this past week cleaning and more Halloween decorations. Friday my mom calls and said they'll be over this side of the state for a wedding and can they stop by Sunday morning?
GREAT timing as the house will be cleaner than usual and have good snacks on hand!
But warned her there will have been a party here the night before.

Woke up about 6 am to see 5 kids asleep all over the living room, on the floor and couches. 2 more asleep in DDs room, 4 more still awake and still partying out in the camper! ) Bonfire still smoldering.
I go back and hide in my room, then about 9 wake them all with breakfast. Eggs, bacon, bagels, danish, muffins that were all eaten up by the hoard.
Party deemed a success! LOL

Get all the 18 year olds gone by 10, quick pick up in time for my mom and stepdad to come. Visit for a bit then take them to breakfast at the cute little diner in our village. Send them to the highway from there then home and a sigh of relief! It's over!

Now I'm taking time for ME and finally catching up with my neglected favorite short ladies!
Sounds like you're all doing well and was glad to feel like I'm sitting down to chat with you all.

Have been back on plan, more serious than usual, the past 2 weeks. Had creeped up to 122/3 and clothes are/were tight. This menopause thing sucks. I'd do what I used to do in years past and I'd drop some pounds rather quickly, but now it's just stuck. Darn hormones, or lack of them. So am trying again but being stricter this time in hopes I can drop a few at least. Have to try harder at this new stage of life I guess!

Apologies for my absence, I'm behind on ALL my correspondence, but you're all always in my thoughts.

A nap sounds like a great idea!

I agree that people don't use their heads about visiting. Babies aren't going to change THAT fast if u give the parents a couple of weeks to rest and adjust. And I hated people being kids to visit when Kim was a baby and her babies in the hospital. They get too ancie for a space like a hospital. Even a home visit needs some responsible thinking

I'm in for St Nick, maybe u could all figure that out already???

Going to get the girls from brad. Bbl

Cindy - tell those people to go home!!
And does DH actually carry?

I'm in on St Nick!
We'd talked about doing one favorite thing, didn't we?

Kaye - so happy you're having a life - but I miss you!!!
My weight went down when I totally changed my eating to more carbs and less protein and fat - down to 114!! I haven't been that low for 20 years!!

I don't remember exactly how we are gonna do the one favorite thing. Is it OUR favorite thing for our person? And do we get other gifts that is customized to their liking? I remember talking about it but don't quite remember what we decided on

Keep posting Cindy!
He is beautiful.
Your daughter needs rest not visitors. If she wants time without visitors she has to let people know.

Just leaving work. Long day and have tomorrow to get through

DH still in Dallas so going home to an empty house.

Guns scare me. I have no desire to get near a gun. My son Jordan loves going to range when he is in Richmond at Becca's.

Kaye, miss you!!!

Ah weight again! Mine was down to 116.6 but back to 118 which is fine. I am working out a lot and my clothes fit fine.

St. Nicks, I am in but lord I have trouble buying gifts. I don't even know what my favorite things are other then ITunes and Amazon gift cards. I love to read and get new music for iPod. I don't have any other real favorites accept food I shouldn't eat like coconut yogurt, chocolate, cookies. I avoid chocolate and cookies. Being on gluten free means I don't eat cookies and won't buy gluten free ones because I have no self control.

I better get home. Sitting in car checking mail.

Hate going to empty house. Plan to go to gym tomorrow at 7 if I sleep enough. If not I will skip a day.

Monday!

We start spring NSR's today. (New Student Registrations) I also have an appointment at noon that I cannot miss, and not sure if I am on the schedule to assist today or not. Schedule went out Friday, I saw in my work email, but couldn't access it. NSR's are a pain and can be full of whiny students. Our lead specialist is a sweetheart, but young, and so moody, so you have to be careful with what you ask or imply or suggest. ugh.

Oh I am sure I will post for a while when I have new pics, although you all, except for Kaye are on FB. I don't want to put too much out there as I don't want DSIL's Mom to see when I am over there or with them, so I may post pics here for you to see.

Well, Debbie - our October is almost over and we had a wedding AND a baby!

DH out of town this week, I am hoping to finally start my JA class, and I am sure I will pop out to DD's later in the week over lunch. They are still getting company and they need to say no.

Issues already rising with my parents and coming out here. Seriously? I called them last night and said I am sure you want to come out - how about weekend after next? Supposedly they have something going on. DH and I don't believe it. I suggested the following weekend but said that's it - those are the only two that work. This will be interesting.

St. Nick? Let's discuss. Is everyone really on board? We certainly don't have to. We can do it the usual way too, or just tweak it up a bit?

Didn't work out yesterday - usual for me for Sunday, but too much going on and didn't get it in. I try to get in 5 days.....Well, that's it for me today, I don't want to go to work.

Morning, at gym cooling down on bike. Need to work so won't get my 3 miles. 2 is fine. Did 2.3 on Elliptical and ran two. Still need to do other exercises. Slow getting here and even 10 minutes late cuts into my time with work.

So what will November bring? My birthday, Becky's anniversary and what else.

Wait till you see how quick your grandson changes Cindy.!sabella amazes me.

DH away still. Home Wednesday night from Dallas.

We go away a week from Wrdnesday for NYC trip and cousins wedding.

Hi!

Cindy - I love baby spam!!

I thought we said we'd buy 1 thing for the person that WE really liked.
You could still post things you can't have, are allergic to, etc., but that it would be easier than trying to find lots of little things.

Debbie - Is there some shot that grandparents are supposed to get - pertussis or something, so you don't give it tot the baby?

In November, DH and I go to Rome to visit DS21!!

I am in for st nick. So how any lemon trees does someone have room for?
What is the limit this year? I sorta have an idea of what I want to give.

I am having lunch tomorrow with johns niece, she started selling Lia Sophia in September. We are going to Damon's in Wilmington. That's where she lives and it's about a 40 min drive for me but it's the only Damon's around now and I really wanted that, so I called her and asked her to lunch and I'm sure we will talk little else than Lia.

I did two 30 min treadmill exercises tonight. I found a really cool treadmill app that I like. It's interval training.

Better go to bed so I can toss and turn

Becky - I wanna know the treadmill app too!

So we are going to buy one favorite thing that WE like?
We will have to determine $$ limit, deadline, mail date, etc......

And Debbie - you have lots of things I have heard you talk about that you like other than food!!!

It was CRAAAAzy busy at work yesterday - I walked in after being gone last week to a note that I had to head to the Lecture Hall to help set up for NSRs as we had one at 9, and the day never quit! I think are heading back up the slope again.

Check out DD's blog post I linked on my FB - the photo's she did of baby Fletcher when he was born are precious......I may need some advice from our resident grandma's.....I want so bad to go out and see him, but don't want to be THAT grandma that is always intruding. I haven't seen him since Sunday and I miss him! How is that possible already? Boy, I think what you all here and my IRL Grandma friends have told me is true!

Kelly, Jenn, you haven't checked in this week.

Happy Tuesday all!

I love Prosecco, exercise gear, new socks,my running watches.....I also love new pens. Favorite things are different. Favorite are my IPad,iPhone, kindl, iPod.

I love the blog.
One good way to see him without feeling that grandma is offer to bring a meal.

I know how hard it is not to be there every minute. Can you FaceTime?????
Tell your daughter you are there any time she needs you.

My work day was pretty crazy yesterday. They replaced me with two nurses.

Having a lazy morning. Need to grocery shop badly plus go to Trader Joes. Need to buy birthday gifts for Mirsa's nephews age 4,14. Going to birthday party for both Saturday. Her sister invited us.

They used to give just Diptheria Tetanus but now are adding back Pertussis. A year ago I was exposed to Pertussis and had to be off of work 23 days because I am allergic to the antibiotics they use. I never got sick.

Went to Isabella's house.Made them dinner. Bella barely ate. Helped carve pumpkins.

My dad isn't doing well. He is having severe hip pain and today could barely walk. I don't know what we are going to do with him. He can't keep living alone so far away. There is no family there to help him. I would move him here with his dirty, matted Maltese(Oscar). I don't think he can handle the stairs unless his pain is better. The shower is upstairs even if I put a bed in my living room. My mom had to that when my grandmother got bad. I see a trip up there in my future. My brother always wanted him to come to Ohio but not volunteering to bring him there now.

I thought of another favorite thing but not sharing it. What will our dollar limit be? $25 plus shipping??

Nothing new here.
JA today.

Going out to DD's for lunch tomorrow and invited them over for dinner on Saturday.
I will vent here so I don't annoy DD, but feel like everyone else is getting over there to spend some time with DGS, and we have hardly had the chance. Maybe once the newness wears off, but seriously - DH and I have to be the ones to take a step back? I don't think it's fair. Can't say much though.

We will need to decide on St. Nick - it's a little over a month away!

Cindy, call and offer to bring groceries or a meal. That gives you a reason to drop in. Tell your daughter you want to stop by but if she doesn't want company to let you know.
I know exactly how you feel. I figured if I made a meal or two they wouldn't turn it down. They never do to this day. They don't have time to cook much. Mirsa and Billy get home around 6 most days.

Kim never turned down a meal either. I say maybe stop over wth dinner and just take the time to visit. U should be able to have you're share of the time too. DD may see it and doesn't want to hurt people's feelings by saying "when do my parents get their time???"

Gracie and I are watching the newest Celtic woman chrosas DVD. It just came out on the 28. One of the original girls (Maeve) is back.

Served for what Becky? PM me.

My dad felt better yesterday. I still worry. He is getting older and when he was here he really aged. He is 81. He lives alone. He has a dog he won't give up. He owns property he rents out. He still mows his own lawn, gardens, walks his dog and works. Pain is really taking its toll. I am just glad he felt better yesterday.

DH home. Going away Monday till Tuesday. Then we go to MYC Wednesday-Sunday.

Working 8 today then off for three days. Yea!!
Big club race Sunday so I took off to volunteer.

Better go do my exercises. No cardio today.

It's Halloween?

Dressing up as our boss today - her name is Christine so we are doing "The New Adventures of All Christines." Like the show. I'm Nerd Christine.

Found a pack and play to have at my house - almost brand new for $35! YAY!

I did go over last night. Brought more stuff I had made and froze for them. That plus DH got a bunch of ground beef for them. I am going to make a crock pot of chicken breasts this weekend that they can do many things with. Also invited them over Saturday for dinner.....their first dinner/visit with Fletcher. DD is very tired. She asked if I could take 2 days off next week. So am doing that. I will continue to do food as you suggest.

So, MK, Debbie, Cindy, Becky, are in for St. Nick.....waiting on Jenn and Kelly......
