Any day now Cindy!!

As for the weather I would rather have it inside but they haven't planned for inside decorations except for flowers for tables. I guess there are flowers for Chuppah too.

I feel as if there are a lot of loose ends but when I ask questions I get yelled at.

So how much soda would you buy for 100 people??
I figure it is daytime and won't be a lot of heavy alcohol drinkers but do have beer and wine.

Hi!

Well, DS24 is on his way back to Milwaukee - I hate when I hardly see him!

Cindy - so sorry about your friend!!

I hadn't heard of a Momma's Kit - so I Googled it! Who knew! It's a big thing!

Someday I hope to have to know about it!

Deb - I hope for sunny days ahead!

Jenn - a house!! How exciting!!!

A busy week ahead, including my friend/coworker's funeral.
I am just heartbroken.

I am sure it will be pretty somber at work this week. Will have to postpone my JA kickoff class as it's Thursday, same time as the funeral. I also have Golden Apple kick off, and am excited as it's at DD's school tomorrow morning! Also have hair appt too this week.

Debbie - boy I am not sure how much soda, but yes, during the day will limit alcohol!

MK - I didn't know there was such a thing either! I just did the "kit" on my own. Just thought it would be a nice thing to put together for my DD! I guess I am pretty smart!

Hope everyone is doing well....... to all of you!!! You are all special to me.

It's pretty somber at work. Lori's husband, daughters and son came in to get her stuff from her cube. I had run into her oldest daughter at Walmart, just a bit earlier. She said this has been a nightmare. I gave them all big, big hugs. They are just the best kids you could ever imagine. Funeral Thursday.

I am off to the MS where DD teaches to kick off the Golden Apple Campaign yet again for another year! One of my favorite days. I used to work in the district and know alot of the staff!

Have a good Tuesday!

At gym. Not feeling it. Making all cardio easy. Still feels hard. Very hungry. Maybe sugar low. I did workout last night so probably just tired.
Still want some kind of workout. Determined or crazy.

Working 12 then off till next Wednesday.

Riding bike now just to work my lead legs.

Cindy, how is DD feeling???

My DS22 has been out of work for two weeks due to this government craziness.
He got his last check yesterday and partial. Thankfully he had some OT in there. So guess who is paying his gas, food and rent??
Many of my friends aren't working. Many are contractors and will never be paid. This whole thing is making us sick. We live in a highly impacted part of the country. Most people don't get how bad it is.

Wondering if my flu shot effected me or just too much working out. Took it easy today. Still have a long day at work ahead.

Good Morning!
Lots of coffee today. Was up at 3:30. Between Lori's passing, my Grandson's anticipated arrival, and some stuff going on with DD23, I just couldn't sleep.

DD goes in again on Monday. We will see what happens. Her doc is on call next weekend so has insinuated that might be a good time. Please don't say anything on FB! They will talk on Monday.

Funeral today.
We had Employee Assistance come in for a counseling session with my team, and Lori's son's and daughter's teams as well. For some reason the daughter's co workers didn't come......but we had a great session and really felt good coming out of there.

Debbie - wonder if it wasn't the flu shot. I never get one. Maybe that will change, but for now, I pass. Are you ready for the weekend? Thankfully the shutdown is now over, but that doesn't help for all the lost wages over the last couple weeks!!

Becky - DSIL has bronchitis as well! Hope you feel better!

Well, I did it - changed my hair! Color still the same - which I don't know that I could change , and she colored my brows! They look so much better!!! I love my hair and she nailed it with what I wanted and had been thinking about for a while!

Kelly? Jenn?

my friends!!!

It starts... Wedding Sunday. Dad comes today. Brother tomorrow.
Honestly I just need to pack. Add apples to gift bags. Make nail appt for three of us Saturday in Frederick and show up for weekend events

Work kicked my butt yesterday so going to do very little today.

DS at my house. He is taking wine, beer and gift bags. Wish soda wasn't in DHs car so he could take that too.

Cindy, hard week with loss of friend but exciting time too with grandson coming.

Becky, feel better.

Better get home to son.

Hello!

Popping in to say hi! I have been running around with MIL all week. It's been nice, but I've just wanted a day to stay home. Leaving to go to the middle school in a few minutes to volunteer.

Cindy-thinking of you today. Keeping fingers crossed for your DD too!

MK-Sorry you didn't get a lot of time with DS. Does he have a long break coming up?

Debbie-I bet you are busy with the wedding! It will soon be over. Hoping you get some rest.

Becky-Feel better!

Kelly-I bet you are busy with polo!

Will try and check back in later!

Bad poster Kelly here...
Sorry I've been MIA, just normal stuff plus some parent group drama at the HS.
DS16 got pulled up to Varsity last weekend for one of our 3 big deal tournaments of the season. He didn't get much play time, but he got to travel and they only took 16 boys, so he was excited! (we have over 50 boys between the 3 rosters for a little perspective on being included with the small travel group) He was added at the last minute and the coach was very honest that he wouldn't get much play time, but said he's been working his tail off at practice and he really wanted to reward his hard work.

This weekend, we have an extra kid, one of DS16's friends moved last year and he flew in today for a visit because he had a long weekend off from school. I picked him up at the airport and he will join the boys at lunch time. (right now he's doing homework, yeah, he's the kind of kid you like your own kid to hang out with)

I did spend yesterday afternoon on a "quest for monster cereal" None of the grocery stores in our little town have had it and DS16 keeps asking if I'm looking for it. So, yesterday I went to the next town over and hit walmart (didn't have it) Vons (didn't see it) and then the drug store next to Vons (didn't have it) I went back for the groceries I needed to Vons (since it's a nicer store than ours and I was already there) and it was tucked into a corner, so I had a very happy teenage boy when he came home to Frankenberry and BooBerry.

Cindy, thinking of you and your friend.
(you know we want pics of your new hair! I'm thinking about changing my color, but it's so easy right now and mine is super sensitive to the sun, so it might be a problem here)

Debbie, and hang in there!

Jenn, I miss having little kids sometimes. Enjoy the Halloween fun!
Any news on the house?

Becky, hope the antibiotic is helping and you feel better quickly!

MK, I miss my big kid too. He was in a chatty mood last week and his class was cancelled so at least we got to have a very long phone conversation. I'll be happy to have him home for Thanksgiving!

Kaye, hope everything is good with you all!

I've had a friend here from CA all week - REALLY good week!

Cindy - I hope your day wasn't too horrible!
And I always get my brows colored - they really frame your face!

Kelly - sounds like fun!! I think we'll only have 1 kid for Thanksgiving the year

Jenn - He's out of college, so we won't see him until Christmas Eve!

Debbie - get excited!!

It's wedding time!
Have fun Debbie and I hope it's not too stressful.
Anxious for pics.

MK - I have always penciled (The last year or so) as my brows have lightened, so know what a difference it makes - especially as we get older, but never thought about coloring until DD mentioned it - hers are SO light. I love it!

Very sad day yesterday but it was a beautiful tribute to our friend. We went to a friend and co worker's after, ordered pizza and drank wine - well, I didn't as I was driving. We just sat there and gabbed for two hours. Our boss was with us - and she is actually a good friend as well (we started at the college together and in the same dept), and she told us all our Dean - who to me is also a friend (he too was in the same dept when I started), said we didn't have to go back to work. so by the time we got back to campus, it was 2:30. Two gals did go back as they didn't have much vacation or comp time, but I did. It was an exhausting day.

TGIF - DH is off to MI to visit his parents as they head to AZ in a couple weeks. I'm not going anywhere until after my grandson is born!

Have a good Friday ladies!

I am not really excited. Maybe tomorrow.

I am kind of over the whole thing. I am happy to see family but the wedding is not being done the way we would do things. I am fearful it will look cheap. I know there is a budget and it has to be vegetarian but I think there won't be enough food. The ceremony starts at 11:30. They told the DJ to end at 3. I would have gone to 4.

The best part of the weekend will be all the family here.

Not sure when I will see photos. Hopefully they share them with us.

My dad's plane was cancelled last night so picking him up at 11:30. Better get moving. He is flying to Dulles. Farther away and set up poorly for a man who is having bad back issues and almost couldn't come. Said he felt better yesterday.

This is the first year (EVER) that we won't go home for either Thanksgiving or Christmas. It just doesn't work this year. Championship season for water polo is around Thanksgiving, for HS it is always the weekend before Thanksgiving so we could easily plan around that. For NCAA, the first qualifying tournament for DS20 (Southerns) is two weekends before Thanksgiving, the top teams from Southerns and Northerns then compete the weekend prior to Thanksgiving at "Easterns" and the top team from Easterns has a "play-in game" against the winner from the "Mountain/Pacific" region the weekend after Thanksgiving and the winner of that game goes to the final 4 two weeks later. So, last year DS20's team made Easterns (which was a big deal, this year Easterns has expanded to 12 teams from 8 in the past) This year the east coast teams are pretty evenly matched so the play-in game could end up with any number of teams.
Anyway, it makes Thanksgiving difficult to plan travel and DS20 will work over Christmas, so that is out, so we'll actually just have our holidays here this year.

Debbie, I'm sure you all are very excited to see everyone this weekend. Hope your dad's travel day works out okay. It can be hard to work in a smaller budget and still have things the way you want them to be.

Cindy, I'm glad your boss was okay with everyone taking the time to remember and celebrate your friend's life.

I probably should color my brows they are completely blonde (along with my eyelashes, but mascara takes care of that) but I've never even thought about it.

MK, it's hard to get everyone together as our babies grow up. DH and I were discussing that as we were trying to figure out our plans for the holidays. I hope I don't attach the amount of guilt that we've had to deal with when the boys have their own obligations/families.

Jenn, I should have added, part of not thinking about Walgreens is they are a new store here and I'm somewhat boycotting them because they put our last family owned pharmacy out of business. (actually, I've walked in, but never bought anything there)

Becky, yes dad got here.

Dulles has a tram that takes people to baggage area. He got off in wrong place. He had arranged a wheel chair for yesterday but not today. His back, hip and leg are bothering him. He is using a cane. We did nothing the rest of the afternoon. I packed, read and dad napped. Now we are heading to College Park for dinner. The groom is home alone and coming to oldest's house.

DS31 officiated a wedding. Getting his license in DC has been good for business. The extra money is needed with the new house.

So, people are starting to arrive. I am concerned there won't be enough tables and chairs at reception. I told DH we shouldn't sit until we know everyone else has a place. I will tell DS22 same. We can go out on deck or find a place but he has 82 seats and 90 plus people. Some are kids. There is upstairs for food but decks and patios outside.

I asked for more tables but I think they told them food and chairs for adults and didn't include kids in numbers.

Hang in there Debbie - never had sons, but understand it can be difficult. The brides family is basically in charge in all weddings we have had and been involved in. It will go well and no one will be the wiser.

Don't color my brows cause they are grey, I color because they have lightened over the years!

Becky - glad Kim is happy!

Took this afternoon off, ran a couple errands, grocery shopped and now enjoying a pumpkin beer, some homemade gauc and chips and Scandal.
