Looks nice and we will be the for the whole week so I hope it is. Good friends are coming with us, so it should be fun.

We’ve never quite worked out the best place to stay (close by, or Naples, or Amalfi coast), since we don’t much fancy driving ourselves around over there. It’s a lovely time of year to go! I’m sure it will be wonderful!

Three days at the gym in a row, more than I usually do but just baby workouts compared to Blotto and Lola I know.

Waiting for a friend to arrive and then going out to lunch, on a DD... will be fine food wise, but a glass of wine is mandatory.

Hey hey Jan...great news

Kissa a glass of wine is of course mandatory lol. Yep well at least going to the gym is something...doesn't matter how many times etc..as long as you make a visit a couple of times a week you are heading in the right direction. Also hope that you have a lovely time.

Glad that you enjoyed Paris Ailuros....a couple of pounds on is a respectable gain..with all that lovely food and wine in France hmmmm...lush lush!!

Mimosa

Off to the theatre tomorrow night to see "GHOST"...have never seen the film and everyone is like "what" ?? "you never saw the film" lol. Not sure I was living in England then and if I was had young children so think cinema was out. Also I don't really like the Cinema and go about once every five years.

Hi to everyone else.x

Oooh I made some lush Granola this week...but I cannot eat cos far too fattening but DH..loving it..and he never puts on weight grrrr.

Not my finest DD, ended up having drinks with neighbours. Ah well, life is for living.

Ghost sounds fab Lola.

Kissa, absolutely - life is for living and I think when we're being strict about diets we forget that sometimes. No point being lovely and slim if we're not enjoying ourselves!

Definitely no point in being slim if you can’t do anything you enjoy, or join in things with friends & family!

I think I’ve landed in one of those bouncing modes. I hope it doesn’t last long.

Hi All!
Just popping in quickly. My back is really causing my endless trouble and I am in a lot of pain, so I´m taking some time out and resting lots. I have a scan on Tuesday, so I´ll hopefully know more then and also what can be done. I am so ready for an unbroken night´s sleep and maybe one day completely pain free, I can´t describe how desperate I am! Anyway, hence my absence! I will check in here of course, but since I have nothing to say I guess I´m lurking a bit for now!

xxx Mims.

Awh so sorry Mimosa...hope that you are feeling a little better soon but its awful to have to put up with that pain.

Sending hugs.

Theatre and Ghost was fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed...must make more effort to go to the Theatre more than every couple of years BUT it is so expensive that is the main limitation.

Anyways...that's the fix for time being. DD home this weekend going on an acupuncture course and has told me that I might be the guinea pig..hmm I told her that I have a nice shoulder of pork in the fridge if she wants to practice on that he he.

Have a nice weekend whatever your plans..looks like UK going to have some sunshine...so no ugg boots out yet...thank god.

No sunshine here in London, grrrr.

Have really got to take myself in hand. 131 this morning. that is outside my comfort zone by 2 pounds.

So sorry you are suffering Mimosa, sending lots of healing thoughts, you would make a great guinea pig for Lola's DD!

I see on FB that Shy is having the best time relaxing. Looks like heaven.

Hi all, was beginning to think I was the only Brit on here. Then I found you tucked away in Challenges! I'm very new here although I've been a Minimins member for years - the reason I came over here was because the Minimins Low Carb group is a lonely empty place with tumbleweed blowing round it - I think unless you belong to a club or are on a specific plan, they're not really bothered. (I used to do Cambridge - that's a huge group!)

Currently doing my own thing on a self-invented plan and lost a stone, so must be doing something right...... Zipping between UK & Majorca can be problematic, although last time I was there I didn't touch a crumb of bread (very hard as it's so nice!). So far so good anyway......

Hi Jaycey, nice to have you here. We are a mixed bunch, some doing Paleo, some LC , with or without fasting days, and some doing JUDDD, alternate day fasting.

But the important thing is that we support each other and give encouragement and the odd kick when required.

I wish i had a second home in Majorca, I have one in Devon though, so I mustn't complain.

Hi, thanks for the welcome. Majorca isn't really a second home - my husband lives & works there. I should be there too, but things keep happening to stop me from moving! (Things like my elderly mum, my cats, our UK house - there's some new crisis every day!) I used my chaotic life as an excuse not to diet for ages ("too busy!"), but I'm going to be stuck here for a while, so I realised it was a good opportunity to get started while I'm only cooking for me. (And even in Majorca, the abundance of lovely fresh food makes it quite easy - as long as I can keep away from the ice cream......)

Jaycey - good luck with your plan. I'm a paleo girl, but as Kissa said, we're a mixed bunch!

Lola, so glad you enjoyed the show. I'd keep away from DD and her needles if I were you!

Mim, so sorry about your back. Hope you get some relief soon.

Shy really does look like she's having a blissful time.

ailuros, are you still bouncing?

Hi everyone else!

Good morning.

Welcome Jaycey. Nice to see you

Blotto, yes, I’m still bouncing. No real change for a couple of weeks. Still, I know this happens, so I’m just carrying on for now, hoping that one day it will decide to start moving again! 9st 3.4 (129.4) this morning.

Jacey. Hope that you find a plan that suits. As blotto said we all do. a variety of low carb but the support he is fantastic. Oooh how lovely to have a 50/50 life of living here and in Majorca. I guess with your pets and mum is won't be a possible for you to go permanently just yet. But hopefully next time you see your DH you will surprise him with your new look good luck

Kissa love the new avatar Irish coffee tut tut. But you'll soon lose that on your down day. Hope that you enjoying.

Blotto. Good to see Paleo still keeping you in the zone .

Ailuros. Still staying below 130 even though bouncing. Fab ... I'd love to be that number.

Shy hope you enjoying Egypt and not eating too much ice cream !!

Hi Jan, Mimosa, Mint and everyone else reading x.

Let's have a good week

That’s after a down day — it’s been a tad over 130 after up days. I was sort of hoping to get to 128 by the end of the month, just because that’s a stone down from where I was this time last year.

Thanks - and hubby already did notice! I've been carrying wheat bloat around for years (I kind of knew that really - but didn't want to know) - as soon as that fell away, my face looked slimmer and my tummy softened and now looks like there may even be some kind of shape under there, lol. (I've got kind of 'dents' in my tummy now, where the fat is literally disappearing.) So glad I discovered low carb.

PS. I presume DH means husband? I've seen DD too? These terms are new to me, sorry!

DD is daughter if someone is talking about their family, but it can also mean down day, if they’re talking about diet. It can be confusing! DS can mean son or sister.

Jacey..that's great news.

I think if you look somewhere around the board there is translation of all the shortcuts.

DD Dear Daughter
DS Dear Son/Sister
DH Dear Husband
DW Dear Wife
IMHO In my honest opinion...
blah blah blah..ha ha

Anyways off to work now My last week in the job with the Manager from hell!!! YAY

Lola, sorry if I should know this, but are you changing jobs, or is the manager going?

Kissa I was 130 this morning (after a not too excessive up day). Chasing that 126 as well… Effectively no change for the last two weeks.

Yes, it’s all heading the right way, and the speed doesn’t really matter, or a couple of pounds either way (but I’d still like to see an 8 at the start, preferably now ).

I made a minor discovery recently: eggs fill me up for hours and hours. I had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon mid-morning at St Pancras when we were going to Paris, and struggled to eat dinner in the evening. Yesterday had to do some errands locally & decided to eat breakfast out. I had scrambled eggs again (with chorizo this time) then wasn’t hungry, so skipped lunch and really didn’t even want dinner.
