How’s everyone doing?

I’m going down fairly steadily: 9st 3 this morning (after down day), so only a pound to go to be a stone less than this time last year. It’ll be nice to get back into the 8s, which isn’t too far off now!

It’s this weekend that we go to Paris, so there’ll be a slight blip in the downward trend .

Hi all!

Ailuros, how nice to go to Paris! And well done on your weightloss!

I'm fine, had another bad back day on Sunday but now all is well again.

For the rest, nothing much to report!

Hope everyone is doing well,

xxx mims.

My back hasn’t been great either — not constant pain or anything, but difficulty getting from sitting to standing for a few days, and I still can’t put my socks on without sitting down. I’m thinking of just putting a few things in my husband’s bag for the Paris trip rather than risk carrying one myself. At least it’s recovered enough now that I can sit through a meal without needing to get up and move around every five minutes!

I have the sock problem too, LOL! I suffer from what BF and I call a Sunday Back.

For the whole week I take it pretty easy and I don't have any pain. Then Saturday comes around and because of the no pain, I end up doing way too much with housework and general movement. Then Sunday ends up being a day that I can barely move... Rinse and repeat! (You'd think I'd learn after three Sundays, but no, I don't!!!)

Hi All!

I took a day off yesterday, in the hope it would be a nice day but no: rain, rain and more rain! And of course I had to go out in it because our dog needs her exercise too! Got soaked four times.

I also went out to the shops quickly by car, and when I got back someone had let their dog do their business in our front garden. Since the spot where the business was left was about 10m. away from the pavement, I have to conclude someone let their dog do this on purpose. I am so fed up with this! Our neighbour had the same problem the day before and she says that the funny fruit tree (like damsons but with a stone and red fruits) just along the street is picked and then the people actually throw their spat out stones in front of her front door. (again 5-10m away from the pavement) I cannot believe how antisocial some people in our street are. Our side of the street is ok, families in houses, but the opposite side there are some flats which are also considered social problem areas by the police. If I would have know this before, I'd probably have reconsidered moving there. So far, it's just dog poo and pips in our front garden... And it's only three or four families causing the trouble!

Hi all!

Shy: hope you are very well and sending lots of holiday wishes for your trip to Egypt! Have fun!

Hope everyone is well! I'm fine, had the most adorable thing cooked by my BF yesterday: a meatball disguised as a little teddy bear under an omelette blanket with a gouda pillow! Very cute! And for a grown up touch he bought me a nice bunch of roses too! He really is a keeper!!!

ETA: the meatball was covered in chopped almonds and the facial bits were made from cheese and black pudding... Too cute!

So cute, he is a bit of a special one!

Have just said goodbye to friends after 3 days of serious over indulging. Definitely a Down Day today.

I feel huge, avoiding the scales for a while.

That’s sweet, Mimosa. I agree, you should hang on to him .

Kissa, I can’t imagine that you’re really huge! Anyway, I’m sure a couple of down days will take care of it!

How do you find 5:2 works for maintenance? At my current rate, I’ll reach my goal sometime around the end of the year, but allowing for a couple of weeks at my parents’ over Christmas, it’ll probably be the end of January before I’m looking at maintenance, but I think I’d rather vary the number of days than how much I eat. I’m just coming up to the two month mark when some people say the appetite suppression effects fade, so it could all be about to go to pot!

I think 5:2 is brilliant for maintaining. I love that those two days of fasting can be any days of the week and I shift them around a lot!

My husband still has quite a way to go, so as long as he’s doing alternate day fasting, I’ll pick a couple of his fasting days. If we both manage to shift to 5:2 we’ll probably stick to Mon/Wed or Tue/Thu most of the time, and only change if we need to, but that is probably 12 months off.

It surprised me that I actually look forward to the down days!

Morning everyone

Mimosa lovely to see your avatar. Hmm the meatball sounds an artistic amazement. I agree with the ibuprofen and pain killers for back ache.

Oh and don't get me started on the way people just dump their rubbish in the street, your garden wherever. It's so inconsiderate. I live near a beautiful lake and it amazes me how people can manage to carry their picnic to the lake but think its totally acceptable to leave all the wrappings, bottles and rubbish behind. Who do they think picks it up - the fairies ? Also people chucking McDonald bags out of moving car windows. Awful. AND for me cat poo in my garden and flower boxes. Sorry cat lovers but why don't people train them to go in litter trays instead of people gardens. It's disgusting.

Blotto hope Paleo still working and I know you off for a nice weekend of training shopping relaxing. Hopefully in that order.

Ailuros you also doing so well with Juddd. Hopefully as you say by after Xmas you'll be maintaining. Great that you got a partner with DH doing as well

Shy have lovely time in Egypt.

Kissa I am sure two down days you'll be back in the zone.

I will admit for the short time I did juddd I did enjoy the down days and sneak one in here and there. Rain rain rain here for us too mimosa. Depressing after all the lovely weather we have had. Last Monday was a shock to put jeans and long sleeve top on. Having had 9 weeks of summer in dresses and fit flops.

Work has been mega so I have been missing cos of that. Finish a contract in 2 weeks and cannot wait. It's taken away far too much of my social life lol. Flattering though that immediately contract ends they wanted to grab me for more work. However I've declined. I.m happy with the amount of work I have without extra worry and stress. TBH I feel exhausted and ready for a little break.

Home day today waiting for a parcel collection. Royal Mail has got so expensive to send stuff that thought I'd try one of the new and cheaper courier companies out there. Down side gotta wait in but got loads of notes to type up from work yesterday!!

Hi to Jan, Mint and whoever else reading. Juno where are you lol ? It's great that we keep the core group but also wonder what happens to the ones that fall off along the way. Have good weekend x

Hi ladies,
I'm still here and reading, but have been super busy with my mum's visit. We hardly stopped to breathe - lots of shopping and trips out, all accompanied by excessive intake of food and drink!
Hope you enjoy Paris, Ailuros, and that Egypt is fun, Shy!
Lovely to see your pic, Mimosa, and BFs culinary creativity is awesome!
Lola, glad you won't have to continue at the same frenetic work pace for much longer.
Kissa, I'm with you on wanting to avoid the scales. I will soon be back on JUDDD - it's what I need........and this morning will see me back at the gym for Zumba and slow flow yoga. I have had continued hernia problems at the site of my tummy incision and can no longer do Pilates or weights.
Will be stopping by more frequently in the hope you can help keep me in check...

What a cute meatball bear Mim! The BF sounds lovely.

Jan, hello! Sounds like you are having fun with your mum.

Ailuros, I too hope to be around goal by the end of the year. Sounds like you've got it all planned out well.

Kissa, I knew you'd drop the weight quickly, DDs work do well for you.

Lola, hi hi! Hope you parcel arrived and hope you get a breather from work soon.

Shy, have a super time in Egypt. I know you love it there.

Hi Blondie and Juno and Mint and anyone else I've missed!

All good here, I'm down 7.4lbs in two weeks on paleo. I know it will slow right down now, but I'm enjoying it and I'm happy for it to be slow and steady and doable.

Hello everyone.

Blotto..Paleo is clearly suiting you..so stick with it...great loss.

Kissa: I knew that you would soon be back in the 120's albeit 129 but its still there.

Ailuros hope that you enjoying your trip to Paris

Mimosa hope you keeping on track and that your weekend hasn't been too rainy.

Jan: Glad that you had good time with your Mum...sorry about the hernia doesn't sound very nice...

Well this will hopefully put a smile on your face and tell you its never too late. My Dad's 94 year old cousin...who on the phone sounds like he is maybe 50/60. Still got his full hearing, eyesight and is mobile. Has a mobile phone and texts!!!! He phoned me today and said to me that he thought his tummy was getting a bit bigger and he thought I don't want to be like one of those blokes with a huge stomach hanging over his trousers so I cut out bread and ate less and I.ve lost 10lbs and I am thrilled... Puts me to shame!!

Anyways lets hope the Autumn and the closeness of that other big celebration which I won't mention but begins with a "C"....spurs us into weight loss or maintaining where we are.

Hi everyone else reading and happy holidays Shy.

Speak tomoz x

We had a lovely weekend in Paris. My weight’s up a couple of pounds, as you might expect: 9st 4.6 (130.6) this morning. I hope it’s mostly water & will drop off just as quickly.

Glad you enjoyed Paris, Ailuros, and only minimal damage on the scales

Well done on getting straight back to JUDDD, Kissa. I need to follow your example

Blotto, you are doing great:jump joy:

Lola, had to smile at your Dad's cousin. I like that generation for 'doing what needs to be done'. War mentality perhaps?

Hi to everyone else.

Oh, and I have one piece of exciting news to share. My daughter (the one in CA) is 12 weeks pregnant. I am going to be a grandmother

Have a good week all!

WooHoo, Granny Jan. how delightful we will need photos!

I love Paris too Ailuros, feel a fix may be needed but not for a while as we are off to Pompeii and Herculaneum for a week on the 30th. WE go the British Museum exhibition a couple of days before we leave so that it is all fresh in our minds. We forget easily these days, lol.

Doing well with JUDDD this week, I needed it.
