Kelly!

Cindy, there's kids in the daycare, past and present that I wouldn't want a grandchild being named after so I can totally see her point! I have no idea about current names as all of them I've heard are pretty out there! However, I bet there's going to be a huge amount of kids named George now.

Thanks for the B-day wishes!

As for boys names, I like "older" names too. We didn't let people shorten either of our boys names but kept the more "grown-up" version of their names. When we moved one kid in particular kept calling Christian "Chris" at that point, he was old enough to decide if he wanted the shortened version among his friends. We were new and I told him if he allowed it that would be his name forever. He quickly started to correct people on his name.

So, a few names that come to mind as "strong" boys names...
Alexander, Kyle, Gabriel, Michael, Christian, Henry, George (although, I would probably avoid that one given the number of George's that will pop up in the next few years) Andrew, Calvin, Jacob, Prescott, Thomas, David, I like Peter too, but would skip that one because of the jokes that end up attached to it.

Kim would have been a Kyle if she had been a boy. Johns dads name was Donald so she would have been Kyle Donald. We out the names together that we both liked for first and middle. If we had 2 boys one would have been William after my dad... Shortened to Will and not Bill. My dad and brother were Bill and I don't particularly like bill (to say it nicely!) but I LOVE Will. I have a bird named Will and one named Willow.

Moms pressure was 6 today, she has lost so much sight in that eye that's its very sad.

I always loved my dads name, just not the 2 Bill's always arguing about their names. And usually when we would sit down to eat. And my bro being the sweetheart that he is always turned the heat up on arguing, made for a nice dinner time.

Waiting for the girls to get back and Kim to get back from her long run. I did 32 minutes on the treadmill tonight

Guess I haven't been here. Sorry!

Happy Birthday Kelly and Henry.

My son has a friend and their son is Henry.

My son is a William but we have always called him Billy or Bill. He was named for Don's grandfather and he was grandpa Willie. I like Will but didn't want a Willie.

Our kids ate all named for someone.

My son wants a Sam. Hopefully next summer we will have another grandchild. Mirsa doesn't like Sam but he gets to pick a boys name.

There are a ton of Aidens and Jacobs running around. My boys are William Jared,Jordan Harvey,Michael Jules. I always had a J in there somewhere. My grandfather was Harvey. My son hates his middle name Jules but it sounded good with Michael and was an unused J name in a family full of J names.
DH and I both have J middle names.

Sorry but just like George for a baby. My uncle is George.

Mirsa always wanted an Isabella. Grace was for my grandmother who was a Gertrude.

Isabella was great yesterday. Had some accidents. She sent ready. She really doesn't care if she is wet or poopy but I am not her parent.

Took GF of my DS22 to get a pedicure and Home Goods today. She goes back to work Monday. I know she is bored. DS22 wants to get engaged. He can't afford a ring yet. Actually we will give him a diamond from one of my rings. I don't wear it anymore. I think they should wait 1-2 years. He is so young.

I think I have the rehearsal dinner nailed down. Will cost me a third of the amount of the Italian restaurant for the same type of food. Granted this is not the same kind of decor and not in downtown Frederick. Downtown Frederick is nice but parking is garage parking that costs money for our guests. Under $1000 makes me happier. My son likes it.

Kaye, glad you updated us.

My weight is stable and good. I swear not eating gluten helps because I eat less junk. I am happy to maintain. Every year I go to the doctor and weigh 121-122. I have been staying around 118-119. I just eat healthy and no gluten unless it is hidden. My stomach is happier.

Jenn, 11 pounds is fabulous!!!

Wedding invitations went out Monday. All the responses will be coming here. Gifts too.

WOW! You ladies are great!

They would prefer older names - - DD thinks she wants an H name, so is trying all of those....I will pass along all your suggestions!!! They don't want nicknames, either, Kelly..........DSIL is Andrew, not Andy. So, we will see - I believe one of their grandpa's names will be the middle name.

Went to DSIL's Mom and Dad's last night........great dinner and conversation, and quite relaxing. Off to the grocery store, then work, and working late..........

H is hard. My grandfather was Harvey. Made my son Jordan Harvey. H- Harold,Henry,Heath,Harrison( I have a friend who's son is named that),Hugh.

I was looking at H girl names for my middle son but he turned out to be a boy. I didn't know what his name would be till he was born. I had Jacob,Jordan as my top two names 29 years ago. Neither were popular at the time.

Mirsa just called and wants me to come meet her at the garden store. Their friend is the landscaper. I will probably go with his suggestions.

I am off to look up H names. Hard one.

Hunter,Hayden,Hugh. Hunter and Hayden more new I guess.

In one year hopefully my oldest will be picking out a name. They want to be settled in the house first and she doesn't want to gain weight before the October wedding so soon after that she should get pregnant. Mirsa is now 35. She is 4 years older then Billy. I wonder how long Rebecca will wait. They may keep their apartment when the lease ends and their roommate moves out. It will be easier and all utilities are covered so it would be cheaper then renting a townhouse or house as they were thinking.

My husbands cousin is Howard. My great uncle was Hyman. My mom had a friend Harlan. My great uncle was Herbert. Another was Harold. I personally had trouble with the H so just took my grandfather's Harvey and made it a middle name. My cousin used it too for her oldest. He s Nathaniel Harvey but they call him Nate.

H girl names are easer. My personal favorite is Hannah. Very popular now. I was stuck on J girls names and never really had one . Well first son was going to be Sara Jill.

I need to color my hair and iron and study.

It has cooled down out which is great for running but won't last.

I will research more H names. It really all needs to go together first middle last.

Harris, Harper there is a long list she can look at online. Why H name???

I used to go through the lists when I was a little girl. Can't even remember my favorites.

Naming after people limited my initial choices. Michael is named for Uncle on DHs side named Morton or Morty. My husband Don named for his grandmother Devora. I am not named for anyone. My brothers both are but their middle names.

Good morning-
School starts next week, HS practice starts this week and its starting to get back to school crazy (as opposed to summer sports and company crazy! ) I'm supposed to sit down and do some brain storming on fundraising with a friend this morning since we are changing our main sports fundraiser this year. We only had about 4 (out of 40) parents actively involved to pull it together last year and its a TON of work, so... Anyway, we have to come up with an idea to replace the $6000 that it brought in every year. (we're more than halfway there, so my head isn't spinning as much as it was when we decided to drop it)

Cindy, that is DS16's name too. As parents they will have to be okay correcting people that want to shorten their child's name, but I'm sure your DSIL already knows that. The funniest when DS20 was a baby we were with a handful of people and someone used a shortened version of his name and one of the older ladies tore into him with something like, "that's not his name, if they wanted him called Chris, that's how they would have introduced him to you..."
Most people do go with nicknames, so while there might be other kids with the same name they will probably be the only one not shortened.

Debbie, you're supposed to just do the fun stuff and not the parenting stuff. It seems like you have that down though.

Becky, sorry your mom didn't get a great report on her eyes.

to everyone else!

Becky, my mom has the same issue. She has had the glaucoma surgeries. She has lost a lot f her visual fields and the doctor says it is getting worse. Her husband had the surgery on his skin cancer and they got the margins but will do radiation. This is rare and can be bad.

I ironed and colored my hair. Now I need to study and meet Mirsa.

TGIF!
And I have company overnight. UGH.
DH's brother and sister in law use us as a hotel on their way through.....tonight and Wednesday. Hoping they decide to drive through on Wednesday and not stop - kind of an imposition on me when we are working (me till 5) and have to work the next day. They have always been selfish though - mostly SIL. They are invited to baby shower, and I am praying she and my nieces don't want to come (they live in Minneapolis). I will already have a houseful, so they can't stay here.....and don't need to deal with company when I have a shower to deal with.

Becky - what happened to Kim?

Why DD wants an H name? I don't know. She is so moody, I can't even ask her!

Where's MK?

Off to work.....kind of annoyed.....were supposed to have a retreat today- too busy to do so, so rescheduled......asked for today off (other people are) and my boss said, sorry one of the other specialists is off and we are too busy. REALLY? Two would have been there and I was the ONLY one there LAST FRIDAY!!!! Plus this specialist has had pretty much every Friday off for the last 6 weeks.

Good morning-
I'm bumping us up. Where is everyone??? I'm sure we're all just busy. (But I did see MK on FB with new hair!)

DS16's favorite neighborhood cat (NOT Gray Puffball BTW) our neighbor's very old (like 14 or 15) tom cat passed away. He waited for DS16 every day before/after school and practice. He was such a sweet cat and he really liked DS16.
The neighbor's have 2 more very old cats (and a semi-feral cat that they feed) and the oldest cat spent the weekend at the animal shelter because a lady down the street caught him and called animal control and told them he was feral. (the cat is very good at removing his collar even when its securely fastened and he is very thin at the moment the vet didn't think he would be around much longer last fall) He is also a very sweet cat and we were all very worried when no one could find him for several days. I'm glad we have him back in his usual spot on my front porch or theirs. Our neighbor that has the cats told me he has been in his house for something like 14 years (the cat is 17 and they got him as a kitten) and the lady that called animal control was in her house when they moved here and he has helped her when she lost her cats. Poor kitty!

Anyway, other than that, its still lots of sports! HS season officially started today which means practices ramp back up and they have twice as many kids working out than they do in the summer. Fingers crossed for a drama free season!
DS20 leaves a week from today. Not sure how we got there so fast!

Becky, for Kim! That sounds serious!

Debbie, I'm sure you are busy this weekend! Isabella is at that "I want Mommy stage" It will pass. She is such a cutie!

to everyone else! Hope we all have a good weekend!

Family here last night into today.
DH, his DB and DSIL played golf this morning, DSIL and I went out to DDs to have breakfast and so she could see the house.

DH and DSIL took the tree down and DD and I went to spend the $150 gift card she got from her florist for her wedding! She split it with me!

We are now catching up on Under the Dome.

Busy day... Went to get mom for lunch with Kim for her bd. it's not til Thursday but this was the only weekend that brad had the girls before her bd. mom gave her the ring she bought her... A stunning sapphire with diamonds, I witnessed a speechless Kim!

Then came home to get the kids from their dad.
Revamped my Lia Sophia order as to what I want to order. I have my first party next Saturday and placing an order on Friday with a few orders. After Saturday night if that one is over 250 then I'm "qualified" and don't have to give my kit back, yippee! So excited, I hope this goes over well!!!

I did 36 minutes on the treadmill tonight. Been getting it in at 11:00 pm and them i can't sleep!

Kim goes for her MRI on Monday. I hope it's nothing but there's a spot he's thinking "coils" be the stress fracture so obviously, I'm worried (cuz that's what I do!!!)

I have johns scarf almost 2/3 done. I really like it!

Hope her MRI goes well!

Beautiful day here......DH not up yet and I have been researching recipes, etc for my revamp/refocus and catching up on The Killing. DH and I are in the final season of FNL and I am so sad - I love that show.

Not sure what's up today.....feel like we should do something, either for fun or work around the house, but don't want to do either! Work out for sure, laundry and need to pick up a few things like almond milk and a couple other things I forgot.

I am off tomorrow; last hurrah, I guess, before the storm. I am helping DD move stuff to her classroom, TJ trip, and then meeting with coffee shop owner of shower venue. I need to take a pic of invite and post for y'all to see!

Another cup of coffee and another epi of The Killing.....

Busy day yesterday.

Ran 14.25 miles and hung out in Bethesda with people before taking metro back to my car. It was a beautiful day. Then ran errands. Went to Pottery Barn and bought new dishes. First new dishes in 32 years. Plain white. Went out fir dinner with DH. It was early. Also while at Pottery Barn got 4 bowls for DS22 and GF. It was last 4 and they cost around $4 each. Came home and cleaned out three upper cabinets. I also cleaned out breakfront(bottom) and some of shelving unit in living room where things are kept. I had original dishes with only two dinner plates and three salad plates left. Of course all 8 cups and saucers. Got DH to get rid of 50% of the mugs. Found things I haven't used. Put it all on freecycle and wrapped it all up for new owners. Through away some chipped pieces too. I could get rid of more. I still have my Dansk dishes but down to 8 plates. Won't get rid of anything else for a while. There are things in my basement I could easily rid myself of. I posted and people want it. I had a battery powered candle, glitter and some pottery soup and sandwich dishes going too. The pottery was my moms but only 3 mugs with 8 dishes. I hadn't used in years. The kids don't need these bits and pieces.

No time for garage sakes plus you pay for an ad.

Work 11-11 and I need to get ready.

I slept poorly yet again. Poor DH had to be running by 6:30 and woke up at around 1 when I got up yet again. I hadn't taken Melatonin. Took it then and finally fell askeep from 1:30-6:15. Set an alarm to go back to sleep but up again by 8.

It is going to be a long day.

Becky, I hope Kim just has inflammation and not a stress fracture. It could even be IT band pain depending where it is near hip.

Cindy, enjoy your day off.

MK, like the new haircut. See you went to a wedding.

Kelly, back to school related busy for you. I don't think you are ever not busy with water polo, school, kids.

Jenn, your kids go back after Labor Day?? Busy buying school supplies and back to school clothes?? I don't miss that any more.

Cindy - this is the 2nd time I've rented. I rent because I refuse to spend $200 to $500 or more on a dress I'll only wear once!

The first one I rented was $420 and I paid $65,and that one is $250 and I paid $60.

I haven't done much today either - walked a couple of miles, 4 loads of laundry, swept the front walk . . . normal stuff.

Debbie - hope you have an easy night!
