Monica--how is the stress level today? Better I hope? I used to mow for stress--now it causes stress--I am beginning to really hate it--wish early frost would come and make it stop!! I can't wait for Bill to retire and take over this job--didn't think that would happen--maybe it's just this year?
Stress is still there but I got a TON done last night. Both kids torked me off, so I went at it. Made the cookies, deviled eggs, then sent them both off to church with DH. I literally stated, I am tired of you BOTH ******ing at me/to me!!!

Sorry about the mowing. I would never make it where you live. MOVING would be my solution! NO frost coming anytime soon here. HECK we haven't even been close!

Michelle204- I LOVE BIG BANG THEORY! It's a 1 hour one, isn't it? Did I read that somewherr?!?!? I bet they are just behind on the paperwork side. I know they have inquired, but maybe they just haven't finalized it all yet. I know here, the PAPERWORK could bog things down for WEEKS! Good luck with the dentist. I do NOT enjoy going there. Let us know how it goes!

Doing my rotations. Yesterday was a managed up day! Today's DD is going well!

I doubt I will be watching BBT tonight, the DVR is set. I DVR'd Hostages Monday, watched that, I really liked it. I also recorded Mom the new sitcom. It was OK at best!

OK-here is another thing that says we are old--we don't have a DVR--we inquired about getting Dish anywhere tho so we could have better viewing when we camp--sometimes there is nothing! but then they said we needed DVR to get the dongle or something or other--so that would be another 8 dollars a month --I am confused just writing this-maybe somebody knows what I am talking about--technology--yikes--even the new upgrade on my phone did me in! I finally figured out how to delete my apps running in the background!

forgot why I was here--I love BBT--I will be watching for sure!

Well back from the dentists office. Good news and bad news. My teeth have shifted either just because teeth sometimes shift or a sinus infection. So I have antibiotics to see if it is an infection. But regardless they have shifted and without braces they are not going back. So since we can't afford that I guess softer food will be in order from now on. A little sad at 48 years old.

Jeanne - I do NOT know how anyone could live without a DVR. It truly changed the way I watch TV! I schedule it, and move one! Once you set a series to record all new shows, from season to season, IT JUST RECORDS! Love that completely! I am a total TV Junkie too! FYI, when they update the operating system on your Iphone you do NOT have to update. Often it is better to wait a while till they work out the bugs. For instance, the upgrade from last week already has another one to fix some of the bugs. This latest upgrade was a HUGE one! Freaked my DAD out completely and he had forgotten I told him, DO NOT UPGRADE till I can be with you. He called me freaking out, I can't get my phone to work. He said, I thought Apple sent me a message to upgrade, but now I am thinking it wasn't apple! LOL Isn't that hilarious?

Michelle 204 - often they set up a really affordable payment system for orthodontics. I know they did for us. DD11 finally gets hers off on 12/11! She was SO excited when we scheduled the appointment I thought she was going to bust at the seams!

It's Friday. Busy day here. Hoping to kick back tonight with pizza/wine/Grey's Anatomy on the DVR! *sigh* now if I just didn't have to work today!

Now you tell me about waiting on those upgrade--lol---Yikes--I thought it was a necessary have to !!! we muddled thru-just more to learn on top of what we already didn't know! it's all good--glad to know I am not the only one needing help! thank goodness for google--I finally got that crazy white circle off my phone!

Michelle--same thing for orthodontia here with my son--we did time payment-and now I see they even do those clear braces--ask about those --if you don't get better with the antibiotics--look into payment options--don't settle for soft food the rest of your life! you deserve more!!

spent the day taking my friend Val for her breast biopsy today--she did well and then we did a day of shopping--two Fridays in a row--she will know Monday what the results are-I am praying for a good report! I know how terrified she must be..

Monica--if I master a smart phone--who knows what--I may be capable of a DVR someday!!!

time to kick back and relax-cya tomorrow

Jeanne I will say a little prayer for your friend. I know how scared you and her must be. You are lucky where you live that you get your results so fast. Here they take a biopsy and it could be months before you get the results. By then it is too late. My sister learned that first hand.

MichelleHu are you fixing up this house for yourselves or to sell? It must be such hard work.

look at you two Michelles---Back in the groove MichelleHu and Michelle--you slipped right into the 170s today--congrats my friend--you are doing great staying the course--how is the mouth? any improvement? sure hope so--I thought you had better health care up there-does that also not include dental? sorry about the waiting for things too-doesn't sound like your sister had a good outcome? I wonder what is going to happen now with our big changes coming this year--hope it works out for everyone-and is an improvement-I am sure it will be a mess for a while.

It has been one busy day-and tomorrow looks to be another-so I am calling it a nite-later

Well our health care is better in some ways but terrible in others. Dental is not covered by our health care system at all. But most other medical conditions are covered and it is the same for everyone regardless of financial situation. One of our problems here is that the US private hospital system pays their doctors better then our gov't does, so our doctors and nurses leave Canada and go to the States. So because we have a lack of doctors we have a lack of care. So you go to doctors and state your problem, he sends you to a specialist which takes 3-6 months to get into to. He sends you for a biopsy or other test that takes 3 months to get, then it takes 3 months to get someone to look at the tests and biopsies and almost a year after you think there is something wrong with you they tell you what your problem is and then start treatment. For my sister that year wait lead to her dying from breast cancer at 57 years old. So yeah all the test and surgeries and treatments are free to all but the wait is what COSTS you!

Oh Michelle--I am so very sorry to hear about your sister--I was afraid that was what you were implying--that is horrible--if that is what free health care is about--you can keep it--I think you need to just pay the price and come across the border and get what you need here apparently--we gripe about our system but it does seem better than what your poor sister endured-I am so sorry--I know you have to miss her terribly and to loose her needlessly in that way is even worse. That's why you must take care of your health and your teeth-I know it's hard for you to go for medical help but being proactive hopefully will prevent something serious with your healthcare system. Are the antibiotics helping?

Happy Monday everyone!

waiting for my coffee to brew...I have a few minutes to catch up.

Weekend was nice. Hope everyone had a great one

I am on a bit of a whoosh....not complaining!

today I am at 221.6. That's 24 lbs. I am finding that eating a bit more (still lc) is helping.

11.6 lbs away from my goal. I hope I can do it.

Friday was tough at work. We decided on salad bar potluck and one girl brought in 2 cakes and donuts

I was good. I only took a pinky taste of frosting. I didn't like the taste so I didn't want it anymore.

have a good day

All this talk of dentists, I despise them. I have been trying for 2 weeks to get one of my baby teeth out of my dang mouth. It broke/chipped finally about 2 years ago and has been getting looser. But I just cant wiggle it out. 1 more left after that but it seems solidly in there still. Good thing the DD's got all their adult teeth. Grandpa was missing 4 too, it skipped to me but no one else. he had 8 kids, Mom is the oldest and all my aunts and uncles have at least 2-4 kids and not one other grand kid is missing adult teeth.

Chigirl- good call on the frosting~ reaffirming for yourself it really is pretty gross. No harm no foul

Hey where has Kim been? Hope she is doing well.

Michelle how are you feeling girl? Heard anything about fostering?

Jeanne - NO operating system upgrades are required. On your computer or your phone. I tend to NOT upgrade as that makes a computer/phone more unstable. This time, my DS14 just kept insisting so I caved. If you will notice, they have already had to issue another update to FIX the bugs in the original one....that TORKS me !!!

Anna - good to see you and I LOVE your avi!

Chig - Eating too little can be counterproductive.

Michellehu - odd about how random the teeth issue has passed around your family! I can't imagine still having baby teeth!

Weekend was good. Friday night we stayed in and watched a movie. Can't remember the name, it was NOT worth watching. Saturday DS14 and I went to the debate tournament. He and his partner (someone not interested in doing debate) won 3 and lost 5. NOT great, but not horrible. In judging your rank the 4 debaters 1-4. Of his the 8 judges that saw DS14, he ranked 1st 6 times and 2nd twice. That is great. That means that in several of the debates where his team lost, he was still ranked #1 of the 4. I couldn't believe it. I am sure this week his Teacher will get him a different partner someone truly interested in succeeding at debate. DS14 was on CLOUD 9! For that reason we went out to dinner to celebrate (DD ruined )

Yesterday was SS and church. Then, the PB M&M's bag was open! Needless to say, calories were TOO HIGH yesterday, even for an Up Day! Dusting off and aiming to do much better this week!

Morning girls-I finally got to bring my weight profile down a smidgen this week-always good to see it go down and not up-even slightly

Monica-M&M's I could and did eat whole bags at a time in one sitting! not a safe thing for me to have around! too bad they don't make low carb ones-I am sure I could do the whole bag thing with those too! not a good thing either! I just saw pumpkin advertised-not sure about those?

Chigirl--congrats on your losses--I thing you can meet your goal--keep doing what you are doing--rooting for you girl!!

Awesome about T and the debate--I am not a speaker--wish I was-I had to give inservices to my aides and I was ok with that but I could never get up in front up a huge auditorium and speak--not a thing I would do for a living--I think it is good for children to grow up doing things like that tho--builds self esteem and confidence for later in life-schools now provide more opportunities to do those things which is good---congrats to T! Proud Auntie moment!

Monica--Bill got the new update message but I never did? strange huh? I wonder why?

time to get busy-lots on the agenda today

Jeanne---WTG on getting the weight profile down. Down is such a nice direction. I'm with you on public speaking. I could never do it and am envious of those who can. T. is so confident and brave. He takes after his Mom!

Monica---You must be so proud of T. That is great that he is so confident. Did he always have this confidence or has his weight loss had some effect on that? And yes you have to celebrate those accomplishments and then just get back on the horse until the next time.

MichelleHu---Wow I didn't know someone could still have their baby teeth. That must make for a whole bunch of trouble.

ChiGirl---You are doing great and I'm sure you will hit your goal by challenge end. Wow that is only a month away now. I don't know if that is enough time for me though. But I will certainly try. I find all the motivation in this challenge very helpful.

Anna--- Who is that cutie in your avatar? What a scoundrel I'm sure. I hope things ease up for you. Stress is an evil, evil thing and can sure take its toll on you. Take it easy and hug that adorable furball. Pets make you healthier and happier.

And speaking of furbabies. I have been accepted as a foster doggy mom. I don't know anything else at this time but I am pretty excited about this. I will keep you all informed.

Well off to work. Talk to you later all.

Yippee Michelle on the fostering-how could they not accept you as a foster mommy!!! that is awesome and you and the DH will be totally in love--how lucky some of those babies will be!! congrats!

Ladies--if you will please pray for my friend Val--she is the one that had the biopsy Friday--she does have cancer-she heard just a little bit ago-a very upsetting time this morning-she will go back down Thursday with her fiancé and see the surgeon-but I would appreciate any extra prayers-thanks so much-she is a special lady.

Awesome girl! I can't wait to hear all about it.

DS14 has always been confident, most TEENAGE boys are. He has actually started enjoying his appearance lately, so that part is good. Honestly Debate is a yawn-fest but it is right up his ally. He is SUPER Smart been in gifted program since early 2nd grade, so now he actually gets to ARGUE intelligent type stuff with others. It is truly perfect for him!

Thanks girls for the good wishes and prayers for my friend-we will know more when she talks to the surgeon Thursday--I am anxious to know but don't want to push--she was so upset yesterday..

going to pay some bills and just do some odd cleaning today--Today is Dolly's heartgard and flea protection--she always feels bad on that day--so I will just do a quiet day to let her rest and feel better-poor baby doesn't tolerate the heartgard very well for some reason-she never vomits butr just feels bad I can tell--always better the next day! Michelle I am anxious to see and enjoy your fostering when you start--I am not sure I could ever let them go after I had them--it would be so hard to say goodbye! I just know me too well! Bill is the same as me--we both love animals! I am sure your DH will be in love too once he gets them in the door!

MichelleHu---girl-you are burning up the scale!! keep it going and we will be doing that big celebration way before Halloween!! congrats and woohoo!!!

going to get moving--tomorrow I am out allday!

Jeanne - inquire with your vet if they offer the SKIN version of heartguard. For our new dog PIP we do a heartguard/flea treatment that you apply to the skin. In all honesty, we have never really give that med to our old Dog Jessie! She's 11 now, I guess no need to start.

Hello ladies. It was a beautiful but windy day here. I took the day off to get some well needed grocery and Costco shopping done. It was our monthly discount day at my grocery store so took advantage to but staples for our Thanksgiving dinner. Thanksgiving here is October 14th only 13 days to go. Coincidently will also be my 24th wedding anniversary. I have to cook the Thanksgiving meal this year so I guess our anniversary celebration will have to come some other day. I'm ok with two celebration meals. I don't know if the scale is ok with it though.

I've decided to take the pressure off this years meal and just do regular food only not too much low carb, but I will try to eat well. I think it will be turkey, stuffing, sour cream mashed potatoes, corn, meatballs and gravy, and spinach salad. Dessert is still up in air. I know one thing I will be making is something my nephew posted on his pinterest account. Bacon wrapped cinnamon buns. I made a trial batch yesterday for DH and he loves them, so they will make the menu just for my nephew and DH.

I am so looking forward to dinner. Sauted salmon with a garlic, herb cream cheese sauce and brocolli with lots of butter. I am drooling as I type. Hope everyone is having a good day.

Thanks for all the kind remarks about my furbaby. His name is Pepper (hense user name, Salt n Pepper) He is my best friend. He is a rescuse dog, his owner broke his leg and would not take him to a vet. The sister of the owner turned the owner into Animal Cruelity (sp?) office, and they took Pepper away from them. It was a law suit as owner tried to get him back, court and all. Lucky for me my friend worked at the Humane Society at the time, (HS had temp custody) and she said if the owner loses the case do you want him?? I went that day, and took him home. He has been ours for over 7 yrs. He is a Schnouzer/Poodle mix - aka - Schnoodle

I often refer to him as my 5th child......but he knows his place is higher in my heart.

Anyway....I could go on and on. LOL

Wow Michelle204 Thanksgiving is really close for you. Hope you post pictures of your food like you did last year. Was pretty enough for a cookbook.

Hi Monica, so happy your son is in Debate. I bet he will really like that.
