Wow, Mimosa, that must have been some horrendous storm. Hope you get everything fixed in good time. I guess this counts as an 'act of God' for insurance purposes? Well done on sticking with good eating. I might have caved under the pressure.

Thanks for the kind words, I was pleased how the outfit went together. All odds and ends from my wardrobe and the charity shop hat, lol.

Yes, it was horrible. I was quite worried!
Car is fixed now, and as it's a company car I don't have to worry and have the hassle with insurance! As for the roof, our landlady has to sort that out, again no worries with insurance! We are very lucky! This storm has caused millions and millions of euros of damage, and that was the second one in 6 weeks....

Sun is shining today, and no humidity, it's lovely!

Cindy, you really look fabulous! Lovely picture!

As of today, I've lost 11.8lbs!!!! I'm so motivated to keep this going! Being free on the weekends also helps me stay on track, and the LCHF WOE on my UDs is just yummy! I'm getting better and better at recognising hunger signals and when I've had enough. I think it's the high fat that is helping on that one. I enjoy every bite, they are just less bites than before, LOL!

On my DDs I don't eat anything now, and on my UDs I don't count calories, I just make sure I keep my carbs very low and my fat high. I try not to overeat on protein. This seems to be working fabulously, so I'm sticking with it!

UD today so here's the menu:

B: turkish yogurt with mascarpone and a TB of almond butter. Handful of chiccharones (pork puffs)
L: a cup of homemade chicken broth with butter and seasalt and some chicken from the broth with avocado and feta
D: leftover bitki po russki, or meatballs in a creamy sauce with cauliflower, all gratinated nicely under the grill. (original recipe calls for white sauce made with flour, and potatoes instead of cauliflower, so I LC'd it!)

Have a good day everyone!

My husband’s not eating on down days, Mimosa. He actually finds that easier than eating just a tiny amount.

I’ve lost 1.4 lbs this week, which is pretty good considering I had a friend visiting, so effectively lost two down days out of four. I suppose that made it a 5/2 kind of week.

Yes, I'm like your husband, Ailuros. I found out it's easier just not to eat than to obsess for a whole day about what I can and can't eat on DDs. That is where I failed on JUDDD the last time.

Well done on the 1.4lbs lost! Quite nice how we are still losing even when we fast only 2 or 3 days, isn't it???

It’s very nice! I think last week’s number must have been just after an up day and this week’s was after a down day, but still, there was some loss in the week, because today and Sunday were both new lows (for this time round, at least).

How long have you been doing this?

Ailuros I am so pleased that this is working for you this time around. I think it is easy to go overboard on UDs but it seems that you aren't doing that this time and neither are you obsessing about calories.

It is a good plan for sensible eating and remarkably adaptable. 5:2, 4:3 or every other day, I just use my common sense these days.

I have had 3 UDs in a row and am really enjoying knowing that today will simply involve one meal of homemade veggie soup (cleaned out the fridge yesterday, lol) and a soya cappuccino at the gym. Love it.

For six weeks now, but three weeks of LCHF on my UDs. That has really kickstarted my weight and inchloss and has made it more consistent.

Sometimes it just takes a while for everything to fall into place and really click!

Kissa, last time it wasn’t so much going overboard on up days that was the problem, it was not wanting to eat at all. I felt lightheaded from not eating enough, and hated the obsessive feeling. By not counting, I manage to avoid that feeling, and keep it more relaxed. I checked the calculator out yesterday — I felt deprived just reading the numbers! Presumably, what I’m actually doing isn’t too far from that, but it feels very different not to work to a numerical limit all the time. We’ll see how it goes.

Mimosa, I think we’re both plugging together elements from what we’ve learned along the way. It’s nice to see some progress, isn’t it?

Hi there,

Just wanted to congratulate Mimosa and Ailuros on their success. Well done:jump joy: Mint, you seem to be rocking JUDDD too. I need to get on the bandwagon.

July is almost over.....how did that happen? Thanks for the kind words about the loss of our lovely dog. Our new puppy can never replace her, but he is a lovely distraction.

Kissa, you look great in your wedding outfit.

Welcome to love2lift. My brother has just moved to Caerphilly - can't wait to visit Wales in the autumn.

Hi too to Lola, Blotto, Blondie, SlowSure et al.

Blotto, where in India are you going?

Had a nice UD yesterday and even though my scales usually jump a pound or two or three or four, I know after my DD I'll see a new low! So motivating! And eating LCHF has really helped me get a grip on recognising real hunger and eating to satisfaction.

Today's a DD, so nothing to report! Will only drink tea and water...

Roof is still not fixed, I'm getting really stressed about leaks now. We've had some torrential rain in the last three days... Hopefully it will stay dry for a bit now, so the roof can dry out...

Hi all, drizzly day today. Am hoping the weather men have it right and tomorrow is dry and bright as we're off to a family farm place about 40 miles away with our girls. Think they'll need boots on anyhow due to the amount of rain recently but should be good if it's dry

Very drizzly here! Well after my wonderful whoosh - the scale rudely bounced up 10lbs and then only bounced down around 3lbs, and up and down and up and down - gaining on occasion after a DD! Today I finally dropped down - nowhere near what I was, but better. Such are the vagaries of JUDDD - just maintaining my rotations - it will be alright in the end.

Hi lovetolift - I like weights too - just not hitting the gym at the moment!

Great avatar mum!

Blotto, enjoy India!

I'm going to Kerala, four days on my own to enjoy yoga, ayurvedic massage, cooking classes etc. It's monsoon season which really means a chance to chill - I love just watching the tropical rain.

Blotto, sounds like you will have a fab time! Enjoy!!!
When are you going?

Here nothing much to report, same old same old at work; busy yet I have to sit and watch some of my colleagues take advantage of the fact that the boss is on holiday. And the blatant lying is getting on my nerves... Enough about that, I've decided to stop getting caught up in the drama. It does nothing for my moods, LOL!

Anyway, today's another hot summery day and an UD, so here's the menu:

B: BPC and a couple of hardboiled eggs with spicy homemade turmeric mayo
L: salmon with salmon eggs, nori flakes, saurkraut and avocado with a vinaigrette dressing
D: grilled chicken. I may add some of the homemade mayo or I may make a herb and feta butter to go with it. Some green leaves will join the chicken!
