I spoke with ff this morning....we had a great conversation. Seems he was outside the bakery enjoying himself and was thinking of me when I called.

What a sweet man (sorry ff). He is going to start going to the library next week and using their internet service so he can stay in touch. On Tuesday, he is going to the doctor for a different pain medication, as the one they put him on isn't working. He is also going to have some blood work done to see how he's doing on the inside. His pension check was mailed on Wednesday, so he was hoping it would arrive today. He is getting funds retro to March plus interest - yea!!!!! He's been faithful to his WOE and was in very high spirits.

That's all I know. I'm sure he will get us all up to speed next week.

It was fun to talk with him. If anyone would like my contact information, just PM me. It was great to actually talk to a person I've been "speaking" with electronically for 3 years.

hey marilee,
since we are having a bit of trouble setting up a conf-call, i just pm'd you my numbers although i think i sent them to you before...let's chat when you have some time! :-)

hey abs, how did those almond thins turn out?...

well, i'm home alone...emmy and her hubby wanted us to go to ri with them today, but my 17 year old had plans with his friends today/tonight, so i stayed home just to be in the general area...so dw and my second oldest son went with em and sal to ri for dinner...

had a good meeting with the yoga folks this morning...and my truck is running awesome right now - keep your fingers crossed!

Great the truck is running smoothly Tony. Was it just the spark plugs?

The almond thins were iffy to start. Some were crisp and some were not. I had salted the whole rolled out dough and after scoring it into cracker size pieces I added some garlic salt to a few at one end and some sazon seasoning to some at the other end. After I cooked them and broke them apart I put them back into the oven which was off but still very warm. After an hour they were perfect! Crispy and delicious - all 3 versions.

hmmmm, crispy and delicious???...abs, i've driven less than 50 miles, but i'm hoping it was the plugs as that is what they replaced...it sure is running smoother and the "check engine" light has stayed off so far, but you know how those can be...

went for a swim, took a soak in the hot tub and just woke up from a nap on the couch...ahhhh...lol...maybe i'll watch a movie or read a book - i have a bunch of stuff to read for my class next friday (nah!) or take my truck for a spin...

wish you all lived closer, we could take a blitz-ride to the beach... :-)

Hi Tony, no, I didn't have your numbers. Thanks for trusting me. I PM'd you my info.

Abi, crispy and delicious sounds like one of my favorite fruits - apples! And, it's Fall - can't wait for the crops to start coming in.

Haven't heard about your job lately - do you still like it?

Bec, how are you doing?

Gibby, glad you kept in touch with ff, thanks for the update.

Garage sale was a bust. We didn't even clear $100 after taking out cost of ad and what son made we made somewhere $85. We benefit better when we write it off with donation to Good Will. We went to supper and walked around a in town lake in the town over. I am going to be sore tomorrow.

I have a new low and I 've changed my stats to 276.2. I'm enjoying the downward ride on the scale. I bought a palette board and stuff for jewelry making.

Vicki- Thanks for the welcome(I think it was a page back). I have helped at garage sales. The money was either great or terrible, no in between.

Marilee-I like to read but I read at super slow pace. I read Patrick O'Brian's Master and Commander series of books.

Abi- I do mostly florals or abstracts. I will be trying watercolor for the first time.
I like taking care of my Mom. She is my low carb partner in crime. We are also like Oscar and Felix: she's a neat freak, and I'm filthy.

Bec, it's great that your Mom will eat low carb with you. That sure makes things easier. I don't do much book reading but have read most of the Vince Flynne books. I like to find someone that has a series based on one character. I also have read several of Archer Mayer books. He lives in my home town of Brattleboro so when he writes about streets I know where he is talking about.

Marilee, I am still liking my job alot. We have alot of laughs and the day goes pretty fast. They told us Friday they just hired someone for upper management from hallmark. That was exciting news! We made some little tea lights a couple of weeks ago where 6 of them go in a tube. 2 are in white cups, 2 in orange and 2 in yellow so they look like candy corn. Our store will sell alot of those before halloween.

Tony, I guess I got away from the pork skins when I was doing no reward and not having any salt. But they will be back in the future!

Have a great day all! I will be having my old usual for breakfast.

I was lurking when you guys were talking about the book club. I have tried reading Agatha in the past, but couldn't get into her books. I could try again though. Currently I am reading a cooking murder mystery.

Lori was heading up our Agatha Christie book reading. I have to admit, I have read all of Agatha's books and would really rather spend my time reading one of the 300 books I have here at home that need to be read.

Just hung up the phone talking with Tony...what a blast! Tony, you are a great guy - I felt like we had known each other for years. We talked about everything....it was fun!

Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

BTW, Tony and Abi, your little dot is green, which means you are on line now. If you hold your mouse over those icons, it tells you what they mean.

Tony, loving the fall weather back again! Hope Nashville is not too humid for you. Have a great trip!

Making a one minute muffin for breakfast and bringing a salad for lunch today. Looking forward to meeting the new VP that has come to us from hallmark.

DH is going to try to get in to see his local DR. to make sure nothing is going on other than post surgery discomfort.

Will check back in after work. Have a good one Blitzers!

Good morning. It was weigh-in day and I'm up 1.6 pounds. I don't know why, since I've been on plan. Just the usual ebb and flow, water retention stuff.

I'm very proud of myself. I've gone two weekends now without pizza and ice cream. That's HUGE!

It was a big help this weekend speaking with ff and Tony. Not only were they encouraging, it helped with the loneliness/boredom issue. Thanks guys!

Anytime, Marilee!...don't hesitate to holler at me...1.6 lbs. is nothing - that can mean you actually lost weight...you can pee that away in an hour...ha!

Abs, it's sunny and 75 in Nash...a bit more humid than at home...the non-stop flight was fine...lots of traffic heading into Boston - I left home at 6:39 and didn't get to the airport until 8:30...I could never do that every morning...the TSA guy said I missed the early morning rush...i was the only person going through security...I don't tell them and they don't ask about my metal hip anymore...maybe they can see it so clearly there is no need?...

Had a couple of cubes of cantaloupe for breakfast and a pickle so far for lunch...

Hope y'all have a great day!

Hey Abi, he can be friends with your bear hugging furry friend

The caption says "Eat healthy", but it didn't show up.

Good news....for the heck of it I got on the scale after work and I was down 2 pounds from my low last week so I'm 3 plus down from this morning. The scale my jump up and down, but I should have a great loss by next Monday.

Have a great evening all!

Good going Marilee! I also thought our little critters could be friends. lol

Did not get to meet the new VP of sales yesterday. I heard she had to get her child situated in his new school. Maybe today. They are doing reviews this week so we are all hoping to get a raise.

Hard to believe it was 90 on wed. It is 38 here this morning at our house. Brrr - loving it! Know FF is too. This would be a good day for him to make the trek to the library and check in with us.

Vicki, a cooking murder mystery sounds good! Hope you are enjoying it.

Tony, hope you and Sarah are able to get together some while you are in Nashville. Are you doing some writing with your buddy or just having business meetings?

Bec, how are things going with you? Will you post some of your paintings now and then?

Dr. put DH on antibiotics yesterday for 2 weeks. He has an infection probably caused from the catheter during surgery. No wonder he has not felt well since then. Hope this will get him feeling more energetic and start moving around more and building up his strength!

Have a great day all!

Vicki, oddly enough, a lot of my mysteries are cooking murder mysteries. Right now I'm reading "The Whole Enchilada" by Diane Mott Davidson. They are easy and light mysteries, with fun characters.

Isn't it funny? I have a lot of weight to lose, but watch a lot of cooking shows on the Food Network and read a lot of food-related mysteries. "Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm".......

Abi, I hope the meds help your DH. He's suffered long enough!

Hey kids!

I had breakfast with Sarah this morning, so I'm very happy!...got a steak scramble which was yummy

Abs, your hubby is gonna feel 100% better once the infection is knocked down...good thing he got it checked...wasn't he running a fever?...hope you get a nice, big raise. :-)

Marilee, you're doing great!...it can take forever to lose ten lbs or six months to lose 100 so don't worry about the number of lbs to goal, just try to make some progress every month...you can't make progress every day or even every week, but you can do it every month...try that mindset!

The book that I am reading is "Cooking Up Murder" by Miranda Bliss. I only have 2 chapters left and that will be tonight if I can keep my eyes open.

Before this book, I read Losing Graceland. Anyone on Pinterest?? I post my reads on my Boards.

I've been reading for this mediation course that starts friday...had to read a negotiation strategy book called "getting to yes" as well as nh statutes on family law...it is actually more interesting than it sounds, which isn't saying much, I guess. :-)

Picked up some hot chicken and brought it to Sarah's place and we had dinner together...very nice...I got her some gourmet cupcakes too but didn't even taste one...

Writing appt in the morning, so may be out of touch...I get back to Boston on thurs afternoon but have to drive directly to the building to meet the yoga prospect and her contractors...she's trying to figure out what it will cost to make the changes she wants to make...still just in the discussion phase...

Hope everyone is doing great!!!
