I don't know how to insert photos, so I'll be changing my avitar 3 times so you can see some pictures of the flooding we had yesterday.

Here's number 1

Marilee, were any of the people you work with affected by the flooding? How are you feeling now? Much better we hope.

Tony, your get togethers in Boston sound like they will be alot of fun! Sorry about the convertible having to be towed for repairs. Hope it will be something simple and not too expensive.

Not much going on here. Need to go to the store after work and pick up some almond flour. Want to make the other variation for a wrap I found over the weekend.
Have a kind of hamburg salad for lunch. Cooked ground beef, some of the rotel tomatoes, mayo and lettuce all in one bowl.

Have a great Wednesday all! FF probably won't be heading to the library the next two days. It is supposed to be real hot again. ugh

Tony, I didn't take the picture. I was safe at home not feeling well - thank goodness! TV viewers submitted photos to the stations and I just copied them.

Attached is photo number 2 - that is a car that you see and that is the road that goes under the freeway that I take to and from work every day.

Ouch!

wow again, marilee!...happy you weren't in that spot when the waters peaked!

hey abs, you and your rotel tomatoes!...haha!...actually, that bowl sounded yummy...hope you stayed cool today...

well, i picked up the truck this morning and as soon as i got on the highway, the "check engine" light came on and the truck was hesitating - my son plugged it into his diagnostic tool, and it has "multiple random misfires" and probably needs at least a complete tune up, which on that vehicle costs between $700-1599 depending on whether it needs coils...kind of disappointing, but i'm not gonna let it bother me too much - the dealership is a little shady, but they are responsible for the work...i'm just not sure i trust them to do it right even if they agree to do it...the salesman did not return my call this afternoon...

the truck will be used only occasionally as it guzzles gas - it says it got 12 mpg today...maybe it will be better after a tune-up...

i weighed in at 229.6 today so no restrictions this week...the bad news is that i am on a pace to lose about a pound a month!...i know it's gonna get better and i feel better and motivated, so there's no stopping me - plus my plan will force me to lose whether i like it or not :-)

Tony, so sorry about your truck! I hate vehicle problems.

Hey, a pound a month is a pound a month....better than a gain!

Abi, I love Rotel! One of my favorite things.

I miss ff. I will probably call him on Saturday. It's kind of hard during the week with the time difference.

Howdy!

Hello Y'all
I've been looking for a place to hang my hat on the forums. I've always liked the BLITZ threads. I have been on LC friends forums since 2010, but I've been off the wagon a lot during that time. So I avoided joining any challenge threads.

Well I climbed back on the wagon 09/05/13. I'm seriously commited this time because of the following: 1)my hip joints and my feet hurt a lot 2) I'll be 33 years old in the near future and I've been morbidly obese for 13 years of that time, 3)my Mom's health is failing she depends on me and I can't help her if I'm crippled by my fat. There are a myriad of other reasons for recomitting but those are what are motivating me at the moment.

My plan right now is stay between 15 and 30 carbs, at least 80grams protein and 90 grams of fat a day. I'm very open minded when it comes to other people's weightloss: different things for different people. As someone who has tried and failed over and over again, I can't began to judge others for their food choices. So when someone nosedives off their plan I have super deep sympathy for them. Been there done that.

I've been doing really good this first week. I'm in a lot less pain. I weighed myself last Fri and I was 286, today I was 279.4. Some of it was water, today will be a week on plan so here on out it'll probably gonna be fat loss. I had gotten down to 277.4 at the beginning of the summer. I'm gonna leave that number in my stats because I feel I'll make that in the next few days.

My goal is to simply stick to my plan as long as possible. Day 7 starts when I wake up this afternoon. (I work rotating 12hr shifts as Lab Analyst for a Plastics Plant)

Welcome BecBelle! We are happy to have you join us. Wishing you much success in getting your hip joints and feet feeling better as you lose your weight.

I am running late today so this will be short. I tried the other wrap recipe this morning but it did not work any better than the one I tried over the weekend. Oh, well, back to the drawing board.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, all!

Hi, BecBelle. I can relate to the morbidly obese for years issue and the joint pain. I have bad knees, as you probably have read.

So far so good being on plan this week. Over the years of dieting, I've lost my "hope" but it seems to be coming back slowly but surely.

Have a great day everyone! TTYL

becbelle...now that will be the last time i call you becbelle - it'll either be bec or belle :-) do you have a preference?...and congrats on the weight loss and finding your mojo!

if you've followed these blitz threads at all, you know we are a rather laid-back group of friendly, supportive people who have been hanging out together for a few years...the blitzes were started by our leader flatferenghi, who will only be an occasional poster now due to irreconcilable computer problems...he is an awesome, funny guy...

we have had folks join us over the years and we love that - as soon as you post once, you are one of us, so i hope you will feel welcome and continue to post here...we are totally non-judgmental and you won't get chastised here for slip-ups...we've all had enough of them!...

some of us post daily and some less frequently, but once a blitzer, always a blitzer!...so WELCOME!...by the way, i love texas and have many friends from all over the state...i'm a nashville songwriter who splits time between new england and tennessee, and many of my buddies are from texas...

hey absy, don't they sell low-carb wraps at the store?...how is hubby's back?...i've been wondering about that...

marilee, have the flood waters subsided out there?...

vicki, how's the job going?

i'm gonna have to take the truck back today and start the pain-in-the-neck process of getting it fixed...

hope everyone has a great day!

It's me again!

Tony, one thing nice about living in the desert is the flood waters clear up quickly. The next day, you wouldn't have know it rained except for a few puddles in low lying areas and lots of dirt in the streets.

Colorado is really getting nailed today with flooding.

Everybody thanks for the welcome!!!
I'm down another lb and a lb away from my stats being honest. I feel incredible.

Abi,
I'm already feeling a lot of relief, and have freedom of movement.

Marilee,
It's so hard to keep hope alive. For me knowing that trying to keep a healthy woe will improve my health (not just weightloss benifits) is one of the big reasons I'm trying again.

Tony,
I love FF, if I could buy a computer and fedex it to him, I would. Unless things get crazy I'll post everyday. I work both days and nights so I may be posting at odd times. I've never been to New England but I've been to Tennessee. It was beautiful and I loved the people. I have lived in Texas since birth, things just worked out that way. I saw Itchy and Scratchy on the Simpson's, my brothers loved it.

Tony, DH is coming along pretty slow. His legs don't hurt so surgery was successful there but his back hurts and he is still not getting around much. He won't see surgeon until the end of the month. Thanks for asking.

Bec, so glad you are feeling much better already!

Marilee, we had a monsoon going on yesterday. They say there was some flooding again in Brattleboro but I have not heard how much damage yet. That is the town just over the connecticut river from us.

My next baking experiment is making low carb crackers.Almond Thins Hope it comes out better than the wraps. Tony, I am pretty sure the low carb wraps are made with wheat which is poison. Not sure about that. I have been trying to make some with eggs and almond, coconut and flax meal.
It would be nice to have something to put tuna salad on. Love crunchy.

Tony, the truck looks nice. Hope getting the plugs changed will do the trick!

Bec, Tony has offered to buy FF a laptop before but he didn't take him up on the deal. Hope he gets to the library soon.

Have a great Friday Blitzers!

abs, is hubby's back pain surgical pain from the incision, or some kind of skeletal pain?...is he taking anything for it?...i'm sure the doc will be able to help...btw, i haven't heard anything about pork rinds in a long time - what's the deal?

busy day at work today - meeting with a couple that wants to open a hair salon and another woman who wants to move her yoga studio here...we'll see...

Tony, I haven't missed a Simpson episode because I have my DVR set to automatically record the program, ergo, no missed shows. NICE TRUCK, my man!

Good luck with the potential renters. No medicinal marijuana with those two - well, maybe the yoga instructor

Abi, the weather has changed so dramatically over the years in our country. I feel for the people in who get real floods - unlike us Phoenicians who just have to endure a bad day or two. Right now, I'm feeling for the people in Colorado. What a tragedy.

Hi Bec!

Hey, as I mentioned, I'm going to call ff tomorrow. I let you all know how he's doing, if he lets me share. I'm sure he will.

Hey Y'all,
Doing good. I dropped a tiny bit in the scale. I was 277.6 so I'm 0.2 from my stats. This afternoon I bought both oil and watercolor paint supplies. I have no talent for painting, I do it for relaxation purposes only. If I stagnate mentally I have a hard time sticking to my woe. If I'm creative, my mind cleans out.

hi bec, art is one of those things that can help the individual in so many ways..happy you have that as an outlet...congrats on continuing your losing ways! :-)

marilee, tell ff i said hello - he's a hoot - you're gonna enjoy your chat...are there any other shows you haven't missed?...the hair salon folks were a young couple - he's 24 and she's 28 and they are go-getters and really nice kids...they have a 6-month-old baby and have some money saved to start their own business, and they love the space, so we'll see...

i told them to think about it and come up with a plan and we will talk some more...tomorrow morning, it's back to the yoga studio...

hope everyone has a great night!

I apparently missed the flooding photos.

Welcome Bec. Glad you joined us. I don't post too often since I am trying not to diet. Just trying to eat when hungry. I am not always successful at that.

I am having a garage sale tomorrow and am tired from getting stuff set up. DH made the signs and blew up the balloons to attach.

Way to go, Bec! I don't do art, but I read and after a lapse, I started up again and am reading a real good mystery. It takes my mind off of everything - which I love!

Vicki, I'll email you the pictures.

Have a great evening! TTFN

Marilee, please tell FF hi from me. Now that the weather is a little cooler we hope he makes the trek to the library. Does he have to take the car service there or is it in walking distance. Is he getting his pension yet?

Bec, painting is a great way to get your mind off eating. What sort of subjects are you drawn to? Good going on dropping some weight already! I think it is wonderful you are looking after your Mom.

Tony, hope you get your whole building rented out soon. It is that new sign that is the magnet!

Vicki, good luck on the yard sale! Hope you sell it all and make a bundle!

Will check in later with you all. I am off to try to make those almond thins I wrote about yesterday. Am going to leave out the pack of splenda and try just a little salt on top to start.
