haha!...i miss them too...right now it is pretty much the abi & tony show around here...and i ain't goin' anywhere, except i may go to maine today...lol...

i need a couple of days of rest to let my body recover from what i put it through the past few days...i feel pretty good - some leg muscle soreness and cuts and scrapes everywhere...my upper body did not suffer, probably because of all the weight lifting i've done at the gym...my good hip is starting to show early signs of wear-out - not limping yet, but more stiffness and loss of range of motion...it's subtle but i know the signs...that's something to look forward to - NOT!...

hope everyone has a great saturday - i know marilee is reading, even if she's not posting, so we love you marilee!

abs, hope the hubby has a great day and no leg pain - keep us posted!

I just cooked a small chicken to have for the next few meals. So much cheaper than buying special packages and the smell of a cooked chicken is better than air freshener. lol

Abi, so happy and relieved surgery went well.

i broke a record with how much salad and veggies i consumed the last few days. today, i had some delicious chicken soup w/o noodles. there was actually chicken in it. i also had 3 cheese burgers w/o buns, with tomato and onion. that was 1:00pm. no more food today, just water. i look forward to when i am physically able to do my own cooking. the lab results are in. i will be there mon a.m. FF

Hey all! I haven't disappeared and no, I haven't been reading. Working my way through a "blue" patch so vegging in front of the TV and zoning out. I think I've pulled myself out of it so things should be back to normal. I had made the big mistake of getting on the scales, but made myself to it so I can face reality. Well, reality slapped me in the face - I weighed the most I have ever weight. Not at 350, but not in the 330's either! Of all the part of my body, my ankles and feet are NOT fat and they have been extremely swollen, so I knew I was holding fluids. So I've been drinking lots of water and liquids and it's working - I'm in the bathroom a lot! I'm back on my eating plan and need to find a way to stay on it without sabotaging myself.

Abi, I'm so glad your DH is doing well after surgery. I had to laugh, though, when you said they told him he could die and then took his blood pressure and wondered why it was high - gee, I wonder!!!! Idiots

ff, so nice to hear from you and I'm so glad that you pants are loser. Good for you! What is wrong with your leg? Did you get a diagnosis or did I miss a post? You don't have to say if you don't want to.

Anywho, not much else to report. Trying to survive the heat - 110 Thursday, 111 yesterday, 110 today and the same tomorrow. We may break a record. Hate it,
but at least it isn't black ice or snow that needs to be shoveled.

Marilee, I hate those blue patches. I have them too sometimes. Glad you are out of the blue funk now. FF, will be getting the results of his leg pain tests tomorrow I think. They did an echo doppler to make sure it is not a blood clot.

FF, your meals sound right on plan. Good going!

Tony, hope you had a nice relaxing day up in Maine. Hope the good hip is just tired from all the planter work and just needed some r&r.

DH is still doing well. I hope he will feel the urge to do some walking this week to get the muscles he has not used for a year strengthened.

Well, I am starting back on no reward - again - today. Yesterday I just had too much time on my hands. Today will be busier so I will not have as many temptations. Plan on 3 poached eggs for breakfast and chicken for lunch and dinner with a salad with no dressing.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

hey ff and marilee, good to see you both!...ff, your meals sound excellent and after tomorrow, you will be on a plan to get back to health - things are all moving in the right direction...

marilee, it's easy to get discouraged when we climb on the scale, but keep this in mind...even if we are 350 lbs., our bodies are burning a lot of calories every day and we are losing some that weight every minute of the day - even while we sleep...so it is not difficult to lose weight - we are doing it right now!

we just have to come up with a woe that doesn't overfeed our bodies...something that doesn't totally deprive us, but that uses food as fuel and medicine rather than as a crutch for boredom or sadness, which i guess we all do to some degree...we can do this!...we just have to WANT to do this...

i don't have the answers - that's for sure, but i am wondering if some of us should try to come up with a plan that we can do together...maybe we can trade ideas and formulate a plan that will work for all of us...or we could rotate plans week to week...

for instance, using the basics of abi's no-reward plan, where maybe come up with a list of foods that we can eat that week...maybe three or four choices each day and that's it - we are restricted to those foods on those days - we can tweak the elements of the plan to allow some seasoning or not...it might be enough to restrict the variety as how much will we eat if all we can have on tuesday is ground beef, broccoli and potato???

it might help if some of us are struggling to stay on the same plan...we could try it for a week or two and see how it goes?...just a suggestion - let me know if you think this might be worth a try...no worries if you don't think so - we can certainly just keep supporting each other's individual plans...but i know i'm gonna start something new in two weeks when dw and son go back to school - i gotta start assaulting my goal weight sometime and this feels like the right time!... :-)

hey abs, good luck on the plan today - hope hubby keeps improving...i have a lot of experience rehabbing atrophied muscles so feel free to shoot any questions at me as dh recovers...

didn't go to maine yesterday...my second son popped in and was hanging out with us all afternoon, so we stuck around and he left after dinner...i threw some ribeyes on the grill...

hope everyone has a great sunday...

didn't make it too far away from home today either...ran a few errands with vincent and came home again...i don't think either of us are feeling too ambitious...and we will be back at work in the a.m. after the gym...

emmy and her hubby just stopped in for a few minutes on their way to his grandparents' house - it's his grandma's birthday...emmy is so cute and is starting to show...looking forward to holding my little granddaughter!...

had a few ounces of fresh fruit salad for breakfast and a 5-guys burger for lunch...not sure about din-din yet...

keep on keepin' on, kids!

Nice sign, Tony! Good job!

I'm still on NS, when I'm behaving myself, so I have food on the shelves so I'm not flexible for another plan right now.

Tony, the sign and the rock planter look terrific! You all did a great job. like the name of the shops too. It is eye catching. Hope you get the rest of the spaces rented soon!

Ok, so yesterday went well until around 5. So I start again today up 2 pounds.

Right after we put our order in yesterday at the backside, (I was good and ordered my 3 poached eggs) my sister in law said she had a present for me and gave me a bag from stonewall kitchens. It had two green poaching pods in it. They are made of silicone and just float on the boiling water as you poach your eggs. She is so sweet and thoughtful. Will give them a try for breakfast in a little bit. I love neat little gadgets!

FF, hoping you get a good report today from your Dr.

Marilee, what is on the ns menu for today?

I am looking forward to getting back to work today believe it or not. 4 days in a row off are not good for me especially since two of them were ultra stressful.

Have a great Monday all!

3:54???...really??? :-)

abs, you sound motivated to get back on plan...so what is your net loss since you started the no rewards plan?...how is hubby feeling on day 4 after surgery?...he should be starting to turn the corner on the surgical pain soon...

ff, good luck today - keep us posted!

marilee, today is gonna be an awesome day and you are gonna start the march toward twoterville....i predict that you, ff and i are gonna hit new centuries in the next 6 months...i'd include abs, but none of us want to see her hit 90 lbs!...haha!...but abs will hit her goal too...

where's artemis and lori?...and of course, vicki?

let's do this kids!

Thanks for the encouragement! I knew I was holding water, but holy cow! I dropped 8 pounds this weekend. I sure hope some of that was weight. I was very good with my eating and drank a lot more fluids than usual, which helped so I'm going to try my hardest to keep on drinking - water that is

Abi, on NS today:

B - NS bran flakes cereal with skim 1% milk
S - hb egg
L - NS split pea soup and some left over rib-eye
S - NS snack...no sure which one
D - NS mac and cheese w/beef, broccolli, strawberries

I need to go to the grocery store and pick up veggies and fruit and some more eggs. And of course, I always need cat food - hungry critters!

well, tomorrow is THE DAY.

the lab results are in. i have been perfect regarding abstaining from starches and sweets, and cutting down on sodium. i hope something can be given me for the leg pain. it is gonna get warm and humid again for a few days. however, more than 1/2 ofAug is gone. Nov is inching closer and closer, so i have a more stoic attitude than when it was June & July. Wish me luck, legwise. FF

FF, good luck today at the Dr.s. Hope this leg pain can be easily remedied!! Good going on the no sugar, low salt plan for the week. I bet your weight is down from even last week!

Marilee, wonderful being down 8 pounds this weekend. Your menu sounds delicious!

Tony, I was down 13 but now down 10. Need to get a grip on things. Today I am packing tuna and salad, no dressing. Tonight the family is all meeting at the Marina so I will have a regular meal. Probably a ceasar salad with grilled chicken with salad dressing and a glass of wine. Plan to have the dressing on the side and just dip fork in it so as to use the minimum. I am sure I will be up even more the next couple of days due to this meal. Planning on clamping down tomorrow.

Have a great day Blitzers!

abs, enjoy the dinner...any weight you gain will be water from the salt and you will shed that easily...no rewards doesn't mean "all punishment"...you can stop rewarding yourself tomorrow :-) how is hubby feeling?...is he able to get around okay by himself?...

ff, good luck today, my friend...i'll be thinking of you...

marilee, what's on the mf menu today?...

i think we may head up to maine for the night...have to be back tomorrow so ds can get his parking pass at school...we really haven't spent any time there this summer and it would be nice...may hit the union fair today for a bit...

have very spotty cellular service in maine so i may be out of touch til late tomorrow or thurs morning...tomorrow is dw birthday so we will go out to dinner with the kids...

have a great day or two if i don't see y'all...

Good morning!

Well, down 8.8 pounds since Friday and am at 334, which is lower than I was a month ago. Whew!!!! It's amazing how much less pain I have on my knees with just an 8.8 pound loss. Of course that equates to 35.2 pounds of less pressure so it should be noticeable.

On the NS menu today:

B - NS bran flakes with 1% milk
S - a few deli slices of turkey
L - NS black beans and rice, cucumber
S - fresh strawberries
D - NS spaghetti and meatballs and broccolli
S - NS snack - not sure which one

Can't wait to hear from you, ff, and see what the doctor says.

Abi, hows you DH?

FF, how did your dr. appointment go? Hoping it was good news and nothing serious.

Tony, hope you are having fun in Maine and also that you get to the fair. Those are always alot of fun.

Marilee, so happy that the weight loss is making your knees feel better. Love seeing your daily menus too.

We had a great time last night at the marina. There were 11 of us. I had the ceasar salad with dressing on the side and 2 glasses of wine. Buckling down today! Have chicken and salad packed for lunch.

Have a great day all!

hi everyone!...back from maine and 4 of our kids are home with 3 of their bf/gf's and we are all going to an italian restaurant in town for dinner for dw's birthday...should be very nice...we do miss sarah though...

ff called me and said the diagnosis was rheumatoid arthritis and they gave him some meds and he hopes to feel some relief by tomorrow...i think he said his computer may be broken for a few more days, so don't worry about him...there was a vacuum cleaner going at his apt. while i was talking to him, so it was hard to hear some of what he was saying :-)

leaving for nashville on saturday - taking vincent with me as he has no school til wednesday...he may fly back alone on tuesday as i may not be done with work...so i may be a bit scarce as my internet access is spotty down there...

happy to see everyone is motivated and on plan...ff reported he lost another 4.4 lbs this week!...we are gonna rock the rest of this year kids!

Tony, so glad you and FF got in touch with each other. So sorry he has rheumatoid arthritis. Did he say what they can do for that? I can't believe his computer is acting up again!!

Today has been a good day. I have stuck with no reward food all day. Let's hope I am back on the wagon again! Have a good night all. Talk to you in the morning!

abs, good to see you, but what the heck are you doing up at 7 o'clock at night?...

i think they can treat r.a. with medication, so hopefully ff will be in much better repair soon...congrats on sticking to the program today...

just got back from the restaurant and had veal and eggplant parm...it was really good...gonna try to eat light the next two days before heading to nashvegas...while vincent is there, we will be hitting some fried catfish and bbq places - we will limit that to one meal a day and will eat light the other two meals...we will be doing a lot of swimming in the pool at my apt. complex - it's right below my apt which is on the 2nd floor...sarah is working 3rd shift these days, and we will meet her for breakfast on sunday when she gets off work at 7:30 a.m....

okay, time to sing happy b-day to dw...see y'all tomorrow...

Tony, I am asking myself that too. lol Regretting it this morning.

Hoping for another good no reward day today and that the scale will start doing its downward trend again.

Glad they have some medications that will help with FF's leg pain. Hope he has given Pavarotti/Luciano a call to fix that computer of his.

Have chicken and salad packed for lunch and will most likely have that again for dinner.

Marilee, what's on the menu for today?

Hope your DW had a nice birthday Tony.

Have a great day everyone.

Hey all....

Tony....fried catfish - yum! Actually anything fried

Abi, I'm so proud of you.....you are doing so well on your plan so don't beat yourself up.

ff...I'm sorry about the diagnosis of RA. I hope that they can help you with medication or some other procedure. I have OA so I understand pain and RA is much worse, I've read.

Scale isn't moving...up or down....and I'm ok with that. Office weigh in day is Monday so by then something should have happened.

hi girls!...safe to say that with ff's computer on the fritz...lol...

busy at work today - met with a paving company as the parking lot needs some attention...wow!...it's a lot of money..almost as much as the sign was...i will have to do at least some of the work, but i think i will wait til i get back from nashville to make a decision...

i've been eating okay, but i feel kinda bloated...maybe too much salt?...need to flush with water i think...been getting a lot of exercise swimming, but i wonder if it is possible that the chlorine contributes to retaining water?...hmmmm...have to look into that...

happy to see you guys are motivated...i will have a new plan by mid-week, next week, after ds starts school and we get into a better routine...eating out too much and restaurants add so much salt to everything...

my dw had a great birthday surrounded by her kids...emmy is really starting to show...my three boys were here and playing video games when i fell asleep at 2 a.m...

have a great thursday night, kids!

I'm back.

weight is down, significantly. blood glucose and blood pressure restored to normal. she will do another finger stick on Mon., just to make sure. The pain in leg is due to rheumatoid arthritis. the pain pill (tramadol)so far is not working. If nothing happens by Mon, I will ask for something else. I hope all is well with my Blitzers. I have not had a chance to catch up on the posts for the last two days. I will do that. More later. FF
