Boot Camp Charlie for Men (July-Aug-Sept)

Welcome to Boot Camp Charlie. This is the place for men to lose fat, build muscle, and improve their overall fitness. All men are welcome to join, but be prepared to exercise, eat right, and take some heat for slacking off. There is lots of experience and encouragement shared here, so if your ready to get healthy, and not afraid to work for it, this is the place for you.



There are a few rules to follow.

Weigh in every Monday (or whichever day works for you). Report your previous weeks weight and your current weeks weight.

On the 1st of each month report what you can:


Current weight
Total lost for the month
All time high
Total pounds from high
Total pounds lost in 2013

No Emoticons. Nothing will get you latrine duty faster than a smiley.

There are many eating and exercising plans being followed here, share what works, what doesn't, but check in often. Straying from the camp for a period usually means somethings gone wrong. While tempting, don't go AWOL just because you screwed up. We don't like to send out the MPs, but will when necessary.

I've been really busy but doing pretty well here overall. I ate too much yesterday, but had been staying on plan really well. Probably would have had a little better number if I didn't mess up yesterday, but I'm feeling good. I nipped a few bad habits in the bud and should be fine if I can keep that going.

Been a long time since I have posted, I have been checking in every now and then. Havent had a lot of time this past month.

Gone up a few lbs, but not as bad as earlier this year. I have however stated back at bike riding, got a new ride and its awesome. I plan to ride every second day about 30km's and then lift weights on the opposite days.

Ate bad the last week or so, trying to get things right.

Well if you didnt take the time to read my June recap blog post here are the dirty numbers. Basically June was a throw away month. Totally swamped with a couple trips, bad eating, inconsistent work outs. Nothing went well.

With just under 30 days till the wedding, I have July planned out day by day. I've added in hot yoga to the mix, so hopefully that will jump start things.

I have another 5K next weekend, not really looking forward to it. I dont feel prepared at all.

wow this place is dead lately

been struggling here, have good moments and bad, on nites this week so im on the bad slope.

good thing is the weight is steadying off - now i jinxed myself, I do however feel chubbier even with being the same weight

I have to make some better choices and get on the exercise more

Hey guys. Its been a while for me. Webelos camp w/ my older son, followed closely by a week of vacation and then trying to catch up at work has left me off plan for a while. I'm back plan on as of last week, but am about 5 pounds over my low for the year. Nothing too bad, but it will probably take another month or so to get back that lost ground.

Hopefully I can help get BCC a little more active!

the heat wave here seems to be helping me a bit curb the hunger, dropped a lb or 2 .

Wife, daughter and I have an appointment for monday to check out a crossfit gym. May give that a whirl, I need a little structure in my exercise. Plus there are always trainers there checking form , giving tips etc, etc.

my wife is already sold on it, i havent been yet

heya glen jones

finally went to that crossfit gym thiing on monday to try it out

wqas alright, i feel like they worked me out pretty hard, not sure if I have a group workout mentality, my wife really liked it, but we will see, she sours on people faster than i do,

going to check out their competitors place today and see what the feeling is there

where the heck is everyone?

not really eating well these days, not terrible, but not good, weight is hovering a little high,

planning to start he week off tomorrow with some good eating, planning is always my downfall, going to get some good lunches together,

my wife lost her job this week, so it will ensure i get better lunches than I was making, she wasnt making a whole lot so its not going to be a huge deal, she still has one part time gig going on

Doing pretty good here overall. Strung together 3 weeks of real clean eating, but slacked off a bit this last week. Still staying away from anything with sugar, so that is helping.

Was hovering around 176 all this past week, i have to get down a few lbs, my cutoff-full steam ahead weight is 180, so i am not too bad.

Hey, Guys - been away for awhile - haven't been crazy with the eats - looks like I am up about 2 pounds from last time I posted (was thinking it might be worse! Haven't been eating sugar but bread/chips had been sneaking in!)

its sucking hard for me, cant seem to get the gusto to keep on the low carb, weak minded these days

lunch tomorrow is excellent except a couple small baby potatoes with my chicken and some dried cranberries in my nut mix

not terrible stuff, but not low carb

Good morning, guys. Still bouncing around on my eats. Really good for a few days, then not so great. If I was at goal, it would be a great maintenance, but unfortunately I'm still 20+ pounds over. I've started getting up early again and jogging, so hopefully that will help keep the diet cleaner.

BigD - good to see u again

things here are slow, this group dying out

Started LC yesterday, ate mostly LC save for a few mini potatoes and carrots that were in my lunch,. didnt want to throw them out and they were slow cooked with chicken so were tasty

today im feeling dragged out so I picked up a couple of LC sugar alcohol treats and feel a bit better

by tomorrow i should be in the no return zone, I just need to drop about 10lbs and I would be very happy, may try for a little more to give myself some wiggle room

no exercise for me in a long time, im still afraid of injuring myself, havent been on my bike in a few weeks either - i bought myself a boat a couple of weeks ago and have been busy fishing etc

be nice if a few more guys checked in, maybe we can reach page 2 by september!

Hi guys,

Doing much better here, have managed to string together a week of low carb. Not really counting but eating the same foods I do on induction. Dropped some lbs too in the last week. Got where I want to be so I'm going to play the next step by ear.

May be nice to overshoot to levels I used to be at last year.

bkfst - 2 scrambled eggs in butter w/ a slice of pepperjack cheese, onion, and sour cream, a glass of V-8
lunch - a can of tuna w/ onion, dill pickle, and mayo
dinner - chicken breast baked in ranch dressing, canned green beans in oil & vinegar dressing
snacks - string cheese, sausage sticks
