Haha, I wasn't sure whether to start a new one or not - but thanks Kissa!

Well, I am determined to make June a good month, and finally knuckle down to some weight loss. I'm doing well so far, I started on the 1st, with good old fashioned Atkins induction style low carb (less than 20g). I survived days 1 and 2, and I'm still feeling super positive on day 3, so here's hoping it'll stick. I've got around 10kg to lose, gulp! My stats are not correct but I'm too ashamed to update them, haha.

Hope everyone else is doing well too!

You can do it Blotto. It is all in the mind isn't it? I am not feeling that motivated at the moment myself. But half a stone must go.

Day 5 and still going strong. Not sure how well I'll fare in Cairo though, I suspect the food is very bread, rice and bean heavy - but hopefully plenty of grilled meat too!

Have a great weekend all.

Overate yesterday but it was our wedding anniversary.

This weather is very wine inducing though. I had a sugar and dairy free chocolate ice cream in the Regent's Parkark, after seeing To Kill A Mocking Bird, an amazing production.

Where is everyone?

Enjoy Cairo Blotto.

Hi ya, had a break from low carbing and yes put on a few pounds but I am back on it as I felt really sluggish and tired but since back on low carbs feel a lot more alert and the tiredness has gone.

I heard that tortilla wraps are low in carbs does anybody know if that is true.

Hi Rene, great to see you back.

I haven't seen LC wraps here, they have them in the States of course. They all seem pretty high to me, at least they would have when I was doing LC.

Hi ladies,

Hard to believe it's June already - the year is flying by.

Hope Mimosa is able to relax and enjoy her break, and Lola too! I can picture Blotto riding her camel next to the pyramids Looking forward to hearing about the adventures....

All is well here. Just had DD1 to stay for the weekend as she was at a friend's wedding. Taking DD2 for a 'Makeover' at my salon this morning - a free cut and color that I won on her behalf by submitting an essay about a special person.....She works with kids who are deaf and blind, earns peanuts and has cut and colored her own hair for years. She was thrilled!

DS has got into a Boston College in September. All my kids are happy - so I am too!

Not doing wonderfully on my eating plan, but somehow not gaining either. No idea how that is working, but hey, I'll take it!

Hope everyone has a fab weekend.

Wow, what a wonderful job your DD2 is doing Jan, I hope she enjoyed her makeover day.

Glad DS has got things sorted out, I bet you are happier with this choice.

I am being a little slack with my eating too. I am calling it 5:2 but my DDs haven't been stellar. Like you, the weight isn't bad so I am just going with the flow. 127/8 most days.

Had a wonderful week off with my kids. DD1 here from US, little ones out of school, presumably to study, for exams which started today. We had a great time just being together. And our chicks hatched over the weekend! As of this morning we have 6 new chicks but 2 of the hens are still sitting on eggs so maybe a few more will hatch. The chicks are so fluffy and cute!

DD1 leaves on friday.

Happy belated anniversary Kissa!

Rene, welcome back.

Jan, sounds like all your kids are happy, yay! Hope DD enjoyed her pampering day, sounds like she deserved it.

Blondie, woo hoo to the chicks. Enjoy your last few days with DD1.

Well, Cairo was an experience! Kissa hit the nail on the head with the 'love hate' phrase. Loved the pyramids, the Nile, the mummies in the museum - but hated the money grabbing aggressive tourist touts! Also experienced a full blown riot right outside my hotel on Friday night - funnily enough I didn't feel like going out!

Thank you all, looks like I have to make low carb wraps myself which is of course time consuming typical anyway wen,t to a 40th birthday did have some chilli con carne and things I shouldn't have had but was sick the same night I think it was too late to be eating and my stomach was not used to eating the carbs but I'm ok now.
Hope you are all enjoying the weather it's so beautiful at the moment.
Hope you all have a nice Sunday.
Love rene xx

Hope lots of you chicks are hens Maryam, it is the layers you need. Love the FB photos. How did the Drs visit about your knees go? Enjoy DD1 while you can,

Wow Blotto, a riot is not a good experience. Hope room service was good! I like Luxor, but the pyramids do have to be seen.

Sorry you were sick Rene, but at least the carbs didn't hang around to do any damage.

I am very happy today, Vicky is coming ove for a 3 week visit. The reason is to attend a memorial service for for dear friend who died a few weeks ago. But I reap the benefit too. So thrilled, it has been far too long since I saw her.

Yes, I am just so thrilled. I just love having her with me and if she is joining me on JUDDD she will get me back down to 124. 126/7/8 is fine, but I do love the lower number.

Hope everyone else is okay, we usually see shy, Lola, Ailuros, Juno, Mimosa by now. I do remember that Lola and Mimosa are holidaying though.

I couldn't post a link to this as the thread had been closed.

Well goodbye sunshine hello rain, and yes, I know the garden needs it, but I don't.

Speaking of gardens we attacked ours yesterday and got quite a bit done. So although I can't get to the gym at the moment, (car having some scratches dealt with so no transport) I did get some exercise.

Eating is back on track after a little wine incident on Sunday afternoon.

I've been looking for the thread to pop up in my User Control thingy - but it hadn't and I thought - oh 'very quiet on the western front' type thing. Then thought - I'll go and post - and realised that the last thread was May - and not June - so went hunting and found this thread!!

I'm very excited to be heading back to the UK - can't wait to seem Mum - it will be a sad time in many ways too - but it will be lovely to reminisce (sp?) about my girlfriend with other friends.

I have jumped back on the JUDDD bandwagon - know I'll have to do it in the UK - so why not make it easier on myself and get 2 weeks under my belt!!

The riot does not sound like fun Blotto - glad you're okay!

Hello and yay to all others!

Kissa, what a nice mum you are.

Mint, good luck getting back into juddd. Your mum will keep you on the straight and narrow.

Shy, bet you can't wait for your hols. I love Majorca, not been for years and years though.

Majorca is gorgeous. Vicky and I went there a few years ago with our DHs, after a weeks cruise. We loved it.

I am already looking forward to my next break. Berlin in August with some wonderful, wild friends. I may require a liver transplant on my return. He is German but they live in Oz.

It's not the same as the conventional wrap (that probably goes without saying ) but these are very straightforward: http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/lo...easy-easy.html

About once a month I dehydrate some coconut wraps for DH but this is horrendously expensive as it must be the flesh and water of young coconuts, not the older, brown hairy ones. Not only are young coconuts difficult to find but expensive - although probably on a par with the average lunch from Pret or similar.
