Isn't it due around the 9th?

Having a great time in the UK, missing my DH - but having a great time with Mum!

Trying for 2 DD in a row, as have a few days of eating & drinking coming up!

Hope your DH does well with his fasting Ailuros.

As you know I have been JUDDDing for over 18 months now along with 5:2. I couldn't suit me better. With Vicky here I hope to drop the holiday/birthday pounds and get back to below goal weight which is how I am happiest.

Glad everyone is getting on with whichever suits best.

Joy of joys I have my mammogram this afternoon.

Hi all!

Kissa: good luck this afternoon. Never are fun, these mammograms. Will be thinking of you!

No other personals, sorry!

BF just called as he is working from home to report no electricity in our neighbourhood. There goes the working from home. He's now pottering about in the garden, LOL! Hopefully we'll have everything up and running soon, I hate to think of everything in our fridge and freezer spoiling! Thankfully it's not hot outside! (not even warm, LOL)

Today I'm not fasting so here's my menu:

B: 2 eggs, HB, 2 TB mayo
L: takeaway soup and salad from Dean & David; a new salad bar in town. So excited! They also have all the nutritional info online, so I spent some time today 'researching' what I'm having for lunch, LOL! That will be a cauliflower soup and a small Tandoori Indian salad, hold the dressing. I'm pimping my salad a bit by adding half an avocado, some feta and saurkraut, and an olive oil, flax oil and ACV dressing. For drinks it will be some kombucha.
D: homemade meatball patties and steamed broccoli with butter roasted almond slivers on top.

This works out to be a little higher carb, but nothing too bad, still under 50 for the day. My calories are coming in just under 2000.

Did I already mention that I love my overhauled WOE???? Feeling pretty good!

Today is his fourth day. He seems to be doing OK with it so far, and it does mean that I eat much less too, because I just eat what I need, and don’t have more just because he is, or because he thinks my portion doesn’t look big enough, or just because when there are two or more, you stay at the table. When I’m on my own, I stop and wander off as soon as I’ve had enough. I’ve actually been suggesting it to him for quite a while (not necessarily the whole day fasting, but some kind of intermittent fasting) because it seemed that it would suit him.

Sounds brilliant. You will both be benefitting.

Mammo was no problem, in and out in 4 mins.

Having a second DD in a row, not ideal but Vicky has a weekend coming up with friends, so we wanted a good start. Doesn't stop us popping off to the St Pancras champagne bar though. See you later...

Hi all,

I have enjoyed catching up with everyone's news - birthdays, travels, reunions, dukan, fitbit (my DH had one for his last birthday and loves it too, mim!).

So, it's summer and all is well in my world - except my eating. I finally bit the bullet today and began a 3 day juice cleanse. It's the Blueprint cleanse, if anyone is familiar with it....My daughter's BF and the whole of his office have done it successfully so I am giving it a try. I bought today's 6 juices from Wholefoods this morning. You eat a set amount in a set order, and so far so good! A bit pricy, so I have googled how to make my own versions of the juices on days 2 and 3.....but at least I'll know what I am aiming for! I NEED the kickstart and a detox before a week in California starting next Wednesday. I will report back how the cleanse goes. I have had 3 drinks so far today and feel good and surprisingly full.

Hope everyone's summer is off to a good start!

Jan xx

Hi everyone!

Shy! Good to see you! Glad you had a nice time!

Jan, nice to see you here too! Wishing you lots of success on your cleanse. Summer has officially started, but the temperatures are autumnal, as is the rain.... Not giving up hope though, LOL!

Well, the weekend is coming up and am looking forward to a weekend of pottering about at home and in the garden. We haven't had much time lately, so it will be nice to be able to relax and enjoy the fruits of our labour!

I'm fasting today, so nothing much to report menu wise:

B and L: nothing
D: salad with smoked salmon, a hardboiled egg and a low fat homemade quark dressing of some sort. Lots of fresh herbs as well as I need to use what's growing so abundantly in the garden...

The numbers work out to be: Cals: 502; Carbs: 19; fat: 30; protein: 37

The Gilbert Scott and the St Pancras Champagne Bar are fabulous, aren't they?

Off to the National Theatre tonight with a (for me, very modest because it's a DD) trip round the surrounding food market first (DH and chums can partake of more than a miso soup).

I'm looking forward to seeing the new St Pancras station. Especially now that I know it has a champagne bar......That might be a good meet-up place one day

1.5 days into this juice cleanse. Chugging the stuff back with ever-decreasing enthusiasm. Still, I was down 1.6lbs this morning, so will keep it up until Saturday night....

Happy weekend to you all.

Lol Jan, I love that "ever decreasing enthusiasm". I know what you mean.

What did you see at the National Slow? Some great stuff on there this season.

Vicky and I were at our friend's memorial service yesterday. It was brilliant and although tears were shed it was a great day. So many dear friends and so much laughter interspersed with the sadness.

She has gone off with a couple of great mates to enjoy a weekend of emotional and probably physical indulgence, and why not? I am in recovery.

Welcome back Shy, glad you had a great time.

Kissa, Mint, sounds like you two are having a great time together. Good luck with the double DD.

Jan, rather you than me with the juice cleanse. I need real food or I feel very deprived.

Mim, your new salad bar sounds good.

Ailuros, how effective has DHs fasting been, has he weighed yet?

Blondie, have you got your ramadan menus planned yet?

Lola, hope you're having a lovely time with DD home. How's Dukan going?

All good here although I had a little blip on Friday in the form of champagne - hic! I kept to Dukan food choices though, so hopefully I can undo the damage quickly.

Happy Sunday all!

We saw Amen Corner - superb performances, music etc. tho' I would happily have seen most of the characters smited so it's fair to say that it wasn't wholly the right play for me.

We had a Campfire Pizza from a streetfood place which has a woodfired stove in a van - best pizza that I've had in years. It was a DD so I had approx. a third of an 8 inch pizza but shall definitely try and hunt them down on an UD.

Hello Blotto. He weighed himself sometime during the week, but has only done it once, so doesn’t know how much has changed. It pretty much fell apart this weekend at my parents’, but that effectively just means he missed one day. I think he’s had five fasting days so far.

Blotto - Yes, menus all set. Don't worry, invitations will forthcoming soon!

Kissa - So glad you are Mint are having a nice time. I do miss my girl!

Jan - Don't know how long I could muster enthusiasm for a juice cleanse! Your doing a fab job!

Shy - Welcome back.

Slow - the pizza sounds amazing!

I traded my german neighbor some of my free range eggs for her lovely ripe cherry tomatos. I love fresh tiny tomatos on my salad.

Skyped with DS and DIL for 2 1/2 hour this evening. Was really wonderful to have a nice long chat! She is feeling well. Baby is due in Feb.

Hi All!

Hope you have enjoyed your weekends!

Mine was good, did lots of gardening and little relaxing, LOL!

Fasting today, and I got the fright of my life when I stood on the scales and they showed a 6lb gain!!! Of course water weight, got muscle aches from all the gardening work and TOM made an appearance this morning... Still not nice to see such a huge gain!

Hoping my day of fasting will sort some of it out. My eye is also causing my problems again. I am flying to the UK for a week on business in two weeks' time, but I probably will have to cancel now, unfortunately. Was actually really looking forward to my trip! Flying makes it worse, and I don't want to end up in hospital again, so I guess I'm going to have to be careful. I have a Dr's appointment tomorrow, so I'll see what he says.

My menu today:

B and L: nothing but water and ginger infusion
D: salad with tuna, egg and my homemade dressing. Works out to be 502 calories.

Have a good day everyone!

Thank you, Kissa and Shykins. With a year long detour, I started in Jan. 2011 and I'm at the original destination that I'd planned with substantially less baggage than starting out.

Now to garner my courage for a body fat assessment and to work on my body recomposition. But, I definitely want to settle into maintenance for a while.
