Have a super weekend and birthday.

I should confess that in our household it's understood that there is a full week of birthday celebration, ramping up to the day and then taking in the weekend.

Kissa & Shy

Blotto that is great with the loss too Wooohoooo.

I've stuck to it all OK again today. Just bought in some salad and tomorrow will have a pure protein day. Was really longing for a glass of wine tonight..but NO I didn't give in...stuck to mineral water with nice slice of lemon. I know that alcohol hinders the loss.

DD also back on attack phase of Dukan as put on 3/4lbs and she is coming home Wednesday for a day and then back at the weekend. YAY...I miss her so much.

Hope you all having a good weekend...true to British standard weather abysmal.

What date is your birthday Kissa? Isn't Shy's the 25th, half way to Christmas? both of you anyway!

Slow, I tend to enjoy a birthday 'week' too!

Lola, glad Dukan is still doing it for you. Same here, been good all weekend and resisted the wine too - we are such saints!

Mim, glad your plan is working for you.

Mint, ouch to the hangover. Hope it was worth it though?!

Have a fab holiday Shy!

Morning all!

First off: Happy belated birthday to Kissa and Shy!!!! Hope your weekends were great!

Hope everybody else had a good one too.

Bon Jovi concert was a lot of fun, really enjoyed going.
Had my up weekend, I don't fast on weekends, and enjoyed a few beers and had some nice food too. Came home to a 2lb loss!
I just ordered a fitbit one and a fitbit set of scales. All connects via wireless, so no more manual logging! This way I can really keep track of my weight and exercise and monitor it all a bit more accurately. I am hoping this will also motivate me to keep on the track I'm currently on. They should arrive today, so vvv excited!

For the rest, nothing much to report. I'm fasting today so my menu is boring.

B and L: nothing, just fluids.
D: a big big salad of some kind with some protein of some kind totalling up to 500 cals.

Have a good day everyone!

wooh hoo Mimosa. beer is good then ha ha. Amazing how that works. She take your eye of the ball for a little why and Wham a 2lb loss. Maybe your body needed that little extra to ramp up your metabolism again?

Another Dukan week for me. I am so proud of myself not having any alcohol either at the weekend. (pat on my back) and Blotto as well I am proud cos she didn't have any either...so we survived together as Dukan buddies. It's quite difficult when your have a DH like mine who likes a glass or wine at the weekend and apertife's etc. AND who keeps saying are you sure you don't want a drink just one glass? Arghhh...I tell him I am on a protein day and he says are you having some of that macaroni cheese tonight. Doublle Arghhhh

Anyways have a day everyone.

Hi all!

Vicky, hope you have arrived safely and that you had a good flight.

Well, the fitbit one activity meter and my fitbit aria scales are installed and connected to my home, mobile, and myself, LOL! Very high tech and I am loving it! I was in need of some new gadgetry (I loooooove gadgets) so this has filled the gap for now!
It even measures how I sleep, although I don't find that one very important...

Today's a free day, aiming for around 2000 calories.

B: 2 eggs HB, 2 TB homemade mayo
L: leftover beef pattie with salad and feta and a homemade oil and vinegar dressing
D: homemade southern fried (baked actually) LC chicken with asparagus and a sour cream, lemon, olive oil and parmesan dressing. For dessert, I may pick some ripe strawberries if the birds leave us any, LOL!

Have a good day everyone!

Mim, your plan seems to be really suiting you, keep up the good work.

Happy Birthday shy!

I have got my girl home and we are sharing an UD today starting with breakfast in the park, then knuckling down to eod fasting. I am carrying birthday pounds, weighed it at 29.8 this morning... nasty.

Lola I am very impressed with your abstinence!.

Lovely to know that you're together again.

You'll shed that birthday ballast in no time - as SoHappy always said, "Universal Laws of Dieting. All gains are water. All losses are fat".

Cindy and Vicky, hope you are having a fab time together!!!

Lola and Blotto, you're doing really well, keep it up, am cheering you both on!

Slowsure, hi!!!!! Hope all is well. Not sure if you told us, but did you lose all your weight doing JUDDD?

Juno, Shy, Maryam, Jan, and everyone else I'm not mentioning but who are in my thoughts, hope you are all well!

Today is a fasting day. Am really hungry! Very annoying. Must drink more water, I think.

My menu looks something like this:

B, L: nothing but water and a ginger infusion
D: 3 egg omelette with baby spinach, tuna, soured cream and parmesan cheese.
Works out to be 505 calories for the day total. Carbs: 4; fat:33; protein:48

Have a good day everyone!

Hello everyone.

Happy birthday, Shy!

Kissa, sorry I missed yours. I hope you enjoyed it & that you & Vicky are having a wonderful time.

I’m still having great difficulty getting back onto any plan, but my husband has decided to do alternate day fasting, so at least on those days we’re not leading each other astray! We’re going to stay with my parents for this weekend. I wonder how they’ll react to the news that on alternate days he’s not eating!

JUDDD and the potato hack. A DD Hack

I ate potatoes (and rice) for 28days in March to break a 6week stall (it broke the stall and got me south of my previous bogeyman weight).

Genuinely not eating anything or only eating (say) 500kcals or so?

DH and I follow a JUDDD (Johnson Up Day, Down Day) schedule except that we have Monday, Wednesday, Friday as DD (fast days with 300-500kcals for me, 600kcals for him); Tuesday and Thursday are UD (I couldn't do gym work or weight training on anything other than an UD); and Saturday/Sunday are UD/MD, depending on social and sports commitments (we kayak on Saturdays if we're not attending a wedding or similar, or we might MD on Saturday if we've an event to attend on the Sunday). MD is approximately a 'maintenance' day when you eat approx. 60% of your UD calories.

Wow SlowSure, sounds like you did fab with that!

I currently do Monday, Wednesday, Friday as a fasting day, where I fast for 24 hours and then break my fast with a 500 calorie meal, and then fast another 12 hours. I have also decided that should one of the three days of fasting not happen for some reason it is no big deal. I have figured out that this does not lead me to binge, because the every other day pressure is off and the single 500 calorie meals are quite big. After the meal, I sleep (I eat at around 7 or 8 PM) and then I have breakfast once I get to work, around 8 or 9 AM the following day.

With JUDDD I felt too out of control, thinking only of food and my up days.
Doing three or two fasting days takes the pressure off and I like knowing that weekends are free, so I can relax and I don't have to plan anything. (within limits, of course)

I stick with a low carb, natural foods only type WOE, which I like best.

I'm so frustrated with falling off the wagon each time, and I know it's because I self sabotage when I start expecting too much at once from myself and have unreasonable goals for my weightloss and fitness. I've not really set a goal for a finish date this time, just a goal weight, and hopefully this will help me reach it eventually.

I set unrealistic or too fast goals every time, and every time the only one who ends up miserable is me. Focusing on my nutrition is more important than losing my weight fast, so I'm taking every ounce off as a bonus to eating well and taking care of my mind and my body.

When I tried JUDDD (a few years ago — there wasn’t a section for it here at that time) I found I was completely obsessed with food, and with not eating. I kept wanting to eat less and less, even on the up days. And felt light headed most of the time. But it was the obsession with not eating that convinced me it wasn’t a good idea for me. I generally do well with regular small meals. My husband has always been quite happy to eat a large meal every so often and skip meals. It’s when we get together and eat regular large meals that the problems start!

Sounds like everyone is doing great. Sorry I haven't had time for personals. Work has been crazy busy. We are trying to get AS9110B certification. Plus we have picked up several new contracts. And tomorrow we have so bigwigs from Kawasaki coming thru the hangar so thats gonna be a big "dog and pony show". Gonna try to to relax and take the kids to Monsters University (movie) this weekend.

Hard to believe Ramadan is in 2 weeks!!!
