Now I know this is working--this morning I followed tradition and got DH these amazing donuts that I only allow him to have once a year on Father's Day. The whole family looks forward to them but I wasn't going to ruin what I've already accomplished for a donut. It took some effort but the voice didn't whisper to me that "just one won't hurt." I ate two hard-boiled eggs instead and I'm feeling pretty good about it now.

I'm still here and confident I'll make it 30 days and beyond. How's it going for you Pam--getting any easier?

Oh yeah....this week there have been brownies and custom decadent cupcakes in my office and I passed on both! My scale hasn't budged in 3 days, but I'm still down overall and feeling soooooo much better about being in control!

Well, today makes it 3 weeks with no sugar! I'm honestly surprised that it hasn't been any harder than it has been. I've passed on brownies and cupcakes....those are HUGE temptations for me. But my weight was pretty consistently going down a few ounces each day so that helped keep me motivated. And then this week hit....scale hasn't budged an ounce!! And my sweet husband told me this morning I probably needed to shock my system by adding in some carbs...not sugar, just carbs, like bread or potatoes. I dunno???

First, woohoo to both of us!!! Three weeks!!!

When we started this it seemed like we were embarking on the hardest possible challenge. Amazing what a difference a few weeks without sugar can make, especially for your mind.

I'm no expert, but you've been losing consistently all month, so I don't think you need to shock your system any more than you already have by giving up sugar.

As you know, I've been mercilessly stalled for months, but I'm starting to have a change of mindset because of this challenge and how my body feels without sugar. My body is changing--I guess it's inches instead of pounds, especially in the belly--and I'm trying to focus on what I am accomplishing rather than what I'm not. I think this is partly the result of how much calmer and happier I feel without sugar and the obsessive thoughts about it.

Closing in on our original goal of one month sugar-free! I swear I feel transformed even though I haven't lost a single pound.

I couldn't agree more! I can't believe we are on day 27. I've passed up cobbler, ice cream, cookies, brownies....and I survived! I'm learning how to make desserts without sugar. I've proven to myself that it's possible to live without that addiction, and I feel great!

Made it!

Completely sugar-free for the entire month of June and feeling so much better--not just more in control but also happier. We think sweet treats are making us happy but they're really just perpetuating a damaging cycle and now that I'm out of it I can see it so clearly.

I'm going for a sugar-free summer, which would have seemed crazy and impossible thirty days ago.

Pam: This challenge worked wonders for me so thanks for sticking with me on this.
