Bucky I have Dana's cook book and love it, I think it's the first one she published. I going to have to look up the Atkin journal, but I do keep a written one, I tend to pick and don't keep track of it.

She has several so I wondered which one I should start with! Our local library doesn't have any of her books listed so I may have to buy one.

I subscribed to her blog but so far have not ventured into many recipes yet and keeping it simple. There is a thread on here of recipes that a member posted (Kevin I believe) that look really good, especially his chicken wings!

Anyone read Dana Carpender's blog or have any of her books?

You guys are brave with the tats. I am afraid of needles and act like a 5 year old when I have to get shot.

I log my food on the Atkins website and also on another tracker. It really makes me see and look what I am eating and helps me not go over my daily totals. Plus you can log your exercise too. Very handy. But I do have a paper journal that I bought but have not used yet.

Hello Saturday!
I'm into bikes, but not tats. That isn't in my wheelhouse....

Going to take my 1/2 hr exercise as 3 hrs mowing hay. I got rained out. Look like a drowned rat!

But a hot shower and I feel warm and refreshed.......but I am not going out to mow again today. Showers keep rolling thru, and DH can do it himself........or wait for me to finish tomorrow.

Laid out 2 T Bone steaks for supper. Actually sauerkraut sounds good........
DH wont eat that, so can of corn will do him

No softball or kids tonight, so not sure what we might do. Sit in front of TV again

Later.....but I got MY exercise in. Did anyone else???????

Hey all !

Wow Deb - didn't know you were serious about the tats. That's a really pretty one on the shoulder I don't have any ( DH hates them ) and in our line of work we see plenty that have "gone south" of where they started ! lol !!

Misty - glad you were off. Did DH find that person they were looking for ? Wasn't it you that went paddle boarding on the lake ? Looks like so much fun

Karen - mowing is HARD work. Of course that counts !

Bucky - not sure we've met...Ive been MIA pretty much lately - working lots of extra shifts and busy - I have Dana's book and it has lots of good recipes, but I'll be honest. I haven't made even one of them !

Have Shelby and we've been having fun. Playing inside mostly today and will let her swim in her little pool again later when it cools off some. We went out and watered plants and put water in the bird bath......sat on the porch swing for a bit. WAY too hot out there. ;/

planning to hit Kohl's and maybe Hobby Lobby tomorrow morning when I take Shelby home.

Hope everyone is doing great and Yes, I've been a good girl. NO ice cream. Determined to do this and quit being a weenie .......

WOE: My way mixing it low carb

Taking a rest. I got my exercise in walking LD. Still doing carb cycling. Down a pound. But not back down to my usual stopping point.

We are going to cool down to the 80's next week.

We rented a slip for the boat and ran across a good deal on a boat lift so we should be set to get out on the lake any time we want

BBL after I read and catch up.

Karen~Can just see you looking like a drowned Rat after all that! Yum...steak night. Hear ya on prolly another TV night?!

Deb~Yay...on LBz' DD finally coming around! How's the journaling going?

Laura~Have fun w/Shelby & the NO ice cream!

CJ~Yay...on the boat slip/lift! Boating sounds so nice. My boat consists of my paddle board!

Misty~Wow...that's a large Tat on your DS! Keeping your old bike after all?

Bucky~Good Luck this July! Haven't heard of Dana Carpender...will have to Google her. Now, Linda Sue...I love her recipes!

Scale -1 from my +2. Hoping tomorrow will be back to where it was! Went paddle boarding again this morning (2hrs). Was a nice day! Did some yard work & that was it. Had L/O BBQ chix cubed up in a Huge salad for late lunch/dinner. Prolly a DVD & then bed...if, I can fall asleep in a timely manner.

Well got busy. We went out for a boat ride, took LD for another walk , then a neighbor came over with his tractor and offered to clean all the logs and debris off our shoreline. he said he works for chocolate so I will be baking this week. Any good recipes out there?

Deb you're about to get your tat? Are you doing both? I'm so happy you are getting along with LB's family

Misty I had forgotten you had a bike. So you tried paddle boarding. It looks like quite the workout. Been out on the lake? Tonight was our first time out this year

Avy how's it going?

Bucky I'm not familiar with Dana either. We are always looking for new recipes

Karen. Drowned rat?I am a steak person. Nice tender juicy. Yumm relaxing now?

Laura that Shelby is such a cutie. We have been in the 90's. this cool off will be nice.

Pat I guess you arent FOS anymore. still trouble sleeping?
Is your lake pretty calm or are you just really good on your board? We tend to get wind. It was pretty rough this evening.

I haven't bee n posting, but I've been checking in. Been crazy busy at work with deadlines, and doctor's appointments... dropped all the supplements for 5 days and today's fasting glucose was 5.8... normal range goes up to 5.5... which I am thinking means I wasn't off the supplements long enough that could affect my BS, so I think the diabetes scare was definitely a false alarm. Yay!

My weight is still fluctuating from 178-183... but I haven't been trying to lose, eating as much and whenever I want, low carb of course, so I'm ok with that.

Call me crazy, but I put a turkey in the oven at 8pm lol... was supposed to be in the crock pot, but it was too big! Making soup/stock with the innards and some veggies in the crock pot instead. I'll be up late, but it's Saturday, so I'll live.

Might have to work tomorrow, at least from home, due to the deadlines. If the client gets me all the info I need to finish his year end... the tax return has to be filed by Tuesday...UGH!

That's my update. Drinking tea and studying vitamins... 80 pages just on vitamins... next chapter is just minerals... fun times!

Hope everyone else is doing great. The weather here finally turned around and it was sunny and hot today, so we got to drive down to Duncan and take in the fabulous farmer's market and buy fresh veggies for the soup stock and awesome organic home made soaps, and the BF got his usual fudge and bread lol. Oh, and free range eggs!

It's in the oven now, and turkey soup with the carcass and left over veggies.

I only buy almond meal, and when it's on sale for $0.99 for 100g at the grocery stores here. Still not cheap, but the best price I can find in BC.
