Went for a drive, took a walk, had some organic chocolate covered cocao beans... very yummy.

On a related topic, I think I am going to enroll in some nutrition courses online, and work towards a diploma/certificate in Natural Nutrition/Nutrition Consulting. I'm an accountant, but I really enjoy reading about nutrition, and healthy living, and find the lack of low carb information/nutrition experts, what have you locally a bit depressing. Who knows, maybe I can offer some of that to my community?

Anyway, it won't hurt to take a few courses, it's not expensive, and get a diploma and certification out of it. The official diploma is Nutritional Consulting Diploma Program, and the accredited certification is Certified Nutritional Consultant.

"Angela Morton, CNC". :P has a nice ring to it, and it's something I'm passionate about, so I think a few courses would at least teach me something, and maybe once I'm done I'll be able to find some other courses in the field to specialize in low carb living. Who knows!

Oh and on the yoga thing, the proper mat is key. My knees kill me if I use the regular mat I bought at London Drugs, but since I bought the really thick yoga mat at Walmart (1 inch thick) my knees never hurt (no more than usual anyway) after a yoga class or the next day. Also you can consider knee pads too and wrist wraps for more support.

Thanks for the info on yoga. I think I am more worried of positions that put a lot of weight on my knee. But you are right - I can modify.

I may see if there is a local yoga studio that has a beginner class.

Congrats Jo! That is quite an accomplishment!

That is great Avy -- I bet you can help others learn a better way of living and eating.

definitely try it! Most gyms offer yoga classes, and have drop in fees, and I'm sure some cities have yoga studios too, for all ages and experience levels. It's fun!

Thanks! I'm kinda excited to start a course, I really want to just have a certification lol so that I can specialize in low carb, start by helping friends and related people, and see where it goes, you know? It's a passion, moreso than accounting, and a hobby, would be awesome to have some other letters after my name and feel more like a professional when people as me questions instead of being that :"low carb person who thinks she knows everything about nutrition" LOL!

Avy I took 2 years of Chef school and a two year course in Food Service and Nutrition Management Program many years ago, things have changed and no matter what your taught you have to make your own choices in what you will take out of a course for yourself. I didn't know that they made 1 inch mats I have one thicker one and I often use twol.Cheryl thanks so much it was such a proud moment and my body is still letting me know it was pushed but pushed can be a good thing right? WTG on your walk everyone has to do what's right for them. Deb good to be back it is hard to get on the computer when the weekends are sunny and busy but you guys are, always on my mind..Your not a geek my poles and most of my walking clothes are pink or bright green. You can see me coming for sure. I think its fun to pick fun colors for workout stuff. All us girls that walk often see who wears the brightest colors. Bucky thanks and so glad you joined us its always good to have more positive people around. I know at times we can get a bit silly but we are all in it for the long term and laughter is indeed the best medicine they say so we laugh a lot but support each other big time. We are all at different levels but that doesn't matter at the end we all win the prize, our health! Stick with us and you will get there along with us.

Morning! Another beautiful day here! But, there is a chance of thunder showers later this afternoon.

Sounds like everyone is on a Roll here w/schedules/goals all in place!
My summer schedule plan is; 5 days of morning yoga classes & prolly something else later in the day. I usually take Tues/Thurs off from yoga. Those off days may include SUP'n (stand up paddling) on the lake or hiking/biking/walking/gardening etc..

Yeah...modifying your positions in Yoga does help w/body parts that bother you. Don't get talked into something your not comfortable doing. You can injure yourself or re-injure something.

Will be back later. Time to hit Yoga class!

Rainy day today, so got a big pot of vegi soup in the crock. After all the gradutation parties this weekend, the scale is only up 1.8 lb. I tried so hard not to eat anything carby, so guess I did pretty good.

Laura wow that's alot of fish, do they clean and fillet it all you?

Deb never made chard, going to have to buy some and give it a try.

I don't think I've had Chard either.

Misty you did good. It's hot here.

Summer came with a bang. 92. Clear and sunny.

Took LD for a walk. He was panting by the time we got back.

Laura Wow that's a lot of fish. Where were the fishing? What kind? Beach.. ah yes!! I miss the ocean.

Pat now I remember what SUPN is. That's good exercise and fun.

Avy on your weight. What's PD ?

Jo I didn't know you had 2 years of chef school. Come cook for me??? Hope your poor old body is feeling better. laughter is sooo good for us

Bucky I love studying nutrition too. I got the usual info in Nursing school. But there is so much misinformation out there. And it doesn't seem they teach different styles of eating for different bodies, metabolism , lifestyles. At least not around here. It's all about the food pyramid. That doesn't work for me or most people on this forum. It sounds like a great idea for you.

So everybody has to make something using strawberries or strawberry flavor?

Deb looked up some chard recipes and found so many, going to buy some this week for sure. Don't know why I never tried it.

Cheryl getting rain today but it's not cold. Been getting hot here too. Sure took long enough. Wtg on the new TV.

Avy wtg on the loss.

Pat when you do the paddle board, do you use a surf boatd? I'd like to try something like that.

Deb~I saute my chard...like spinach. Heat up olive oil, add garlic, some chili flakes/seeds, add de-ribbed/sliced up chard to the oil and fold chard over until sauteed, add salt, pepper & drizzle w/balsamic vinegar. I also like to add crumbled bacon & feta cheese.
