Love me some food porn! LOL

Those peppers look great. We have been eating those mini peppers a lot but have not tried grilling them. What did you stuff them with??

Oh my that looks so good MsWoods. Yummy! We are going to make steaks today too and I think I am going to do some stuffed mushrooms. Those stuffed peppers look like a good idea too. Hopefully the water will go away for you soon. Sounds like you had a big weekend and after you settle down a bit your body might too.

Rubidoux, that is awesome, cant wait to get back in a size 12! Bathing suit wearing is always good motivation.

Halos, those steamed asparagus rolls sound good. I have always made that with a green onion rolled up in the middle and I love those, will have to try the asparagus, I could use more veggies.

Hope everyone has a terrific Memorial Day!

The yellow peppers I stuffed with Laughing Cow Garlic & Herb Cheese Wedges. The red ones I stuffed with a new Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt Dip, roasted red pepper flavor, and the orange ones I stuffed with another flavor of the greek yogurt dip, dill and cucumber flavor. The ones with the laughing cow were the best.

Oh, also I wanted to mention to everyone, I had to take my link to Pinterest out of my siggy because it's apparently not allowed due to some people selling things through Pinterest. I didn't know, but the admin let me know. Just so yall know.

I saw something similar to what you made Michelle, but then the whole thing was wrapped in bacon before being grilled. It soundednso good. Bacon makes anything taste good.

Good morning everyone!

Your food looks so good mswoods, glad you returned to us

I am planning a slow day today, Dh wants pizza, I have him one from Schwans and I'm going to try out that recipe in the recipe forum using eggs and cheese for the crust.

I hope everyone has a good, safe holiday!

I need someone to help talk me down. This is my 5th day I believe on track, and I'm CRAVING...like horribly strong cravings for things like french toast, bread..just eating bread no anything else.

I know mentally it's just my body switching itself to burning fat (hopefully) and making a mad grab for the easy energy..but dang it's hard.

Melissa, the craving does pass, if you can make it thru about the next 20 min. It isn't a permanent condition. I used to keep bottles or jugs of water all around my house so that every time I felt like eating I took ten sips of water in a row. It helped. I tried to keep busy too. I remember Dr Phil saying, you can't replace one behavior unless you have another behavior ready to take its place. So what are your backups? Do you have any hobbies? Do you like to garden, crochet, knit, walk, read, meditate, do yoga, write, talk to friends on the phone,do community service, etc? There is a whole world of things we can do when the cravings hit. Because they will from time to time. But the longer you can go without giving in, the easier it is the next time. We are exercising our resistance muscle by not picking up the first bite. Because it is only the first bite that we are actually craving. Once you give in, most times, we can't stop. So if you don't take the first bite, the craving will pass.

Melissa, you can do this! Just think of your hard work over the last five days. One bite of bread will undo it all. That's what gets me through when the cravings hit. That and some good fat. Butter and cream cheese are my friend. I also find that not eating many veggies helps me to get rid of the cravings faster. I will eat only protein and fat for two meals and then have one serving of veggies for my dinner.

Melissa, just stuff your face full of whatever low carb foods you want. At this point (or really at any point!) it is better to overeat LC than to go back to carbs. Eating carbs will just fuel the addiction. Just do your best to make it though. It's worth it.

The rain finally stopped here this afternoon so DH was able to grill our NY Strip steaks tonight. They were good, now we have a ton of leftovers. Might make steak fajitas with them tomorrow. I was going to have him grill asparagus too, but decided to make coleslaw instead. It was really good and I ate way too much of it. At least it's LC! Also went to the movies today and just had a caffeine free diet pepsi. The popcorn smelled really good, though! But DH had some a few weeks ago and it too him 2 weeks to recover. So not worth it.

That food looks so good. The weather was gloomy and cool here. Husband is out of town and kids were doing their own thing. Sometimes when you are by yourself it gets hard to put too much effort into meals. My neighbor brought over some pork shoulder she made today though. It was yummy. I think part of my problem is that I don't plan ahead. I need to work on that.

Hi everyone, hope you all had a good Memorial weekend. I've pretty much stayed on track, had chicken salad sandwich last night, lc blueberry muffin today and have some ribs in the oven for dinner. Having some cauli-"tater" salad and cole slaw with them.

MsWoods - feel free to post pics anytime -- I love food porn!!

It's been a quiet but good Memorial Day. Not the best weather - we ended up grilling our steaks in the rain! But they still tasted delicious. From the sounds of all of you, looks like a lot of wet weather around today.

My supper was steak, lots of grilled veggies, a spinach salad, and a small glass of red wine. Yummy. DH also added a baked potato and corn to his plate, but I passed! I did do a lot of munching today, so I know I went over my usual calorie allotment, but at least it all low carb healthy stuff.

Have a wonderful evening everyone!

Hey everyone. Hope you all had a good Memorial Day.

Pretty good day today. I am sure I went over my calories for the day with my dinner, but I am not going to sweat it too much as I have been low on calories the last few days.

For breakfast I had about an 1 oz of cheddar cheese and some turkey breast with my coffee and SF creamer and then intentionally stayed busy and didn't eat anything else all day.

For dinner I grilled filet mignon and corn on the cob (for husband and son) and then made stuffed portabella mushrooms and baked potatoes (again husband and son). So it was a good dinner. I had my steak and two stuffed mushrooms. Yummy!

Tomorrow I am going to try and start working out in the morning before I leave for work, as I am just not consistent doing it after my shift when I get home. We will see how that goes

Oh man, those mushrooms look good! I had grilled chicken and grilled asparagus dipped I'm butter. I was too lazy to make hollandaise sauce, which is what I really wanted. Sounds like everybody had a good day. I stayed out on my front porch reading a book most of the day. It was so lovely here in Tennessee.

No holiday for us Canadians! Was a very busy stressful day at work, followed by a dentist appointment, then an hour working out at the gym. I pushed myself a little harder tonight, and really enjoyed it.... I also can't believe I am saying that lol. Stayed perfectly low carb, but ate a bit more than I planned. not thinking about it I had an extra fat bomb, but not stressing it, 1,777 calories for the day isn't horrible.

I'll be happy if I stop at 1777 myself

We're having country sausages with cauli mash and butter cabbage. 'Comfort food' but not too damaging.

Well, I did get in it, which is impressive. But it's gonna be a few more pounds before I'm rockin' that suit. lol

And I don't even like mushrooms, but those looked great!

I am a huge believer in the resistance muscle! I think there really is a neural pathway that we reinforce every time we make good decisions, and if we over eat or eat the wrong foods, we're reinforcing neural pathways for behaviors we don't want. It really helps me to think about that when I'm having cravings or wanting to munch. I want to build up that resistance muscle, not undermine it.

Oh gosh, that sounds so nice! I went to that pool party w my kids and it was just STRESSFUL. My 4 yr old is fearless, so I spent a lot of time in the water w him. But it was such a strange party, too. It was like a party for *the pretty people*. I feel like there were more people there who'd had plastic surgery than not and there were probably 40 adults there, but I was the only one who was remotely overweight. And the house it was at was like seriously something from lifestyles of the rich and famous. Like everyone and everything there was just perfect. The woman who threw the party is really sweet and several of the people I knew who were there are great, but the whole package just felt bizarre. Gah!

But I didn't eat any crap!

So the long weekend is over! Too much food was consumed and the scale is showing it ! I need to find and enforce "my resistance muscle". I will be a good girl today, tomorrow and hence forth !!!
Planning to keep the carbs and calories in control. Haven't logged my food for 4 days and it really helps me when I do so I'll get back to that also.

Good Work for All of You that made it through Memorial Day without caving in !

I'm down 3lbs since starting! I know it's not much but I'd rather have a slow loss then no loss!

Also, I weighed after we ate and worked out so that may have something to do with it. We actually went out to eat for the first time in a few weeks and it was awful! Not the choosing of the food, but the service was crappy. The food was mediocre, but okay. We never complain about service/food etc but last night my husband (who is himself a manager at a restaurant, called for the manager to complain. it takes a LOT for him to do that since he understand the job sucks!) well let's just say that's the last time we'll eat there.

Anyway, we decided to walk around the mall for a bit before the gym. I don't like to work out on a full stomach and neither does he. So the whole time I'm walking I'm feeling very strange. I started to panic thinking maybe the food had hidden carbs or they had the wrong information on the website. I wasn't feeling that "carb crash" but still feeling wonky.

Turns out it was a salt overload. I grabbed a water from a vending machine and just could not stop guzzling the h20! Teaches me to what how I eat when we go out! *Sigh*

That turned out longer than I had intended! Sorry guys!

Good morning everyone!

I loved that pizza yesterday, I 3rd the recipe and cooked it in a pie pan. So good. This will definitely be my to to for pizza.

New week for me, I still haven't dropped back down to my low weight but I do have a week being back on the wagon.

You guys are all doing so well!

Put me in the crowd with been eating too much. Eeeek. I haven't even stepped on the scale. And on top of that had some cashews, big no no, I can only imagine. Things are settling back out, though, and today I will be right back on it hardcore.

I didn't make it to the gym (may try later but I doubt it) because my body still hurts so badly from this weekend.

I stopped by my friends this morning and she said I look like I've lost some weight, which reinforced what I've been doing.

Well guys very busy here at work today, trying to get some big bids in for people that waited til the last minute. I'll check back in hopefully this afternoon. Have a great day everyone!

Yay! I love a good milestone!

For all my clean eating this weekend, I managed to gain a pound. I think I did have more cals than usual, but I doubt I hit 1500. Sigh...

I am struggling w what feels like a silly decision. I did a Zumba class last week and it completely exhausted me for days afterward. I loved it and I really want to keep going but I'm taking the bar exam at the end of July and I need to be in good study-shape. I think I should probably wait until after the exam, but I really want to do it. Plus, my neighbor teaches the class and I'll feel bad if I don't go. I don't want her to think I didn't like it. This is so frustrating. I hate putting stuff on hold for the bar. I failed it last summer and I feel like I've been on hold for like a year and a half.

Hello all, I'd like to hop in and join. I am an old LCF re-tread coming back again and again since 2003 when I lost about 120lbs and kept it off for a few years. I have always come back after gaining and then losing and going off LC only to regain again. I have been back since last July and been working hard on my binge issues and my emotional and stress response to eat when I feel overwhelmed. It is hard work but so worth it as I feel able to cope with the urges to eat and not fall into a full out binge that could potentially last for months. I am 80% of the way to my goal and would like to be there by Labor Day. Although this might be a bit aggressive of a goal for that date, I am going to push to make it.

Jayne- I started taking Zumba and it does get a lot easier after several classes. I always felt better going especially on the days I did't really want to go. I hope to be able to resume going to my classes in another few weeks. (I had to stop due to some balance issues.)

Mitizoom- Congrats on meeting your halfway goal!

I've missed a few days on here, massive jaw ache and don't really wanna eat. The ear doesn't hurt, neither do the teeth, just the jaw. If it isn't better by Friday, I'll see the doc.

Other than that, still behaving beautifully, just lazy and no exercise
