Well, let me not make you guys jelly, but it's been in the 70s here the last couple days! I'm so happy, I was getting pretty depressed from the weather.

Yes, I'm just being mean to you guys

Thanks Tweaker, I'm feeling better finally today. Was sick Sun, Mon, Tues, and yesterday. I got progressively better, but could hardly eat. Back down to 228 so yaaaay. Lol.

Nice day today, but looking for freezing rain changing to heavy rain tomorrow. Good day for me to stay in and make a few low carb things to have on hand so that I don't cheat. Probably will make devilled eggs, tuna or ham salad. I need to cook a pound of bacon that I have thawing. Also have a pound of hamburger thawing, not sure yet what I'm going to do with that. I need to cook some more chicken, I'm having my last piece for dinner.

I'm maintaining my loss.

The weather here is so up and down. Should be close to 50 today, and at least the sun is out, but then more snow tomorrow. But the good news is we leave for vacation in 2 weeks!! I can't wait. I'm trying to get down to the lower end of my maintenance weight, so I have a few pounds to play with, just in case! And I'm already planning what kind of legal snacks I can pack to make sure I always have something to fall back on. My last few vacations have been pretty smooth sailing food-wise, so I'm not expecting any problems. It feels great to be comfortable in this WOE!! Have a great weekend everyone.

Just bringing us back to the top of page so we don't get lost or end up on page 2! Nothing new to report weight-wise. Back in the deep freeze around here weather-wise!

It's still cold here. Expecting more snow for the weekend. I have had a couple of days that were warm enough to go take a walk. At this point I'm just hanging in and counting down to vacation!!!!!

I have a birthday coming up and all I can think about is birthday cake!! I really don't want to cheat so I'll need to make my own cake, I think my family would try to make one for me but they wouldn't have the right products to make it taste good, meaning they'd just use splenda for sweetener (which I don't use at all!). I've been looking at recipes and think I've found it at alldayidreamaboutfood. Carolyn has a delicious looking chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and chocolate ganache -- it is truly a work of art! I want it, I want it -- should I or shouldn't I?

Happy Birthday Tweaker!! Now that I'm in maintenance I do allow myself a splurge like that, especially on my birthday! So I say enjoy a small piece, as long as it doesn't throw you into a spiral!

I'm gearing up for vacation mode!! We leave Sunday and I can't wait! My weight is down to my lower end of maintenance just so I have some breathing room. I don't plan to eat much off plan, but I am going to allow myself alcohol and a few splurges. I'm just so ready for vacation!! Hopefully these next couple of days go by fast!!

Wow, where has everyone been? I'm back from vacation, and had a great time! The best part, I stepped on the scale this morning and weigh exactly the same as when I left!! I stayed mostly on plan, but did allow a few higher carb splurges, and did drink plenty of alcohol. I am thrilled, and I really feel like this plan has finally stuck and it's something I can do for the rest of my life!!

Wow, Congratulations, Alice, no gain, that's great! I checked this thread last night thinking it was about time for you to be back, Welcome back!

I haven't posted because I had nothing good to report, I went off the rails and gained but have since lost 5 lbs., not quite back to where I was but I am eating really clean, induction, no cheats. I hope to have a lowest ever to report soon!

I have a question for you guys. I have a Magic Bullet and I like it, but lately it doesn't seem to be working as well as it should be. Today I was making a small amount of guacamole and it couldn't even blend the ingredients. I don't mind small pieces of avocado, but it was in large chunks and wouldn't chop up the garlic even. My Bullet isn't even 5 years old! Do any of you have one? How old? What's your experience been with making anything other than protein shakes?

I have a magic bullet that's about a year old. It works well, but I've always found that it works much better with more liquid items. Sometimes things like guacamole just kind of clump and don't mix as well as I'd like. It's a bit dissappointing. When I make things like guac, I usually use the mini food processor that I have.

I think mine sounds off, it doesn't have the same smooth sound that it had when new and makes a lot of noise as the motor stops. I'll just keep using it till it dies completely.

Michelle - I agree! But, hey, it's the first day of spring - Yay! However, it snowed overnight and all morning it's been pouring rain, it's just a mess out there!

Happy Spring everyone!

Great job Tweaker!

I have pink eye -_-. Went to the Dr. this morning and got some meds. I really want to be bad and go to the gym but I'm sooooo contagious. I could just stand in the back of the class and stay away from everyone but that would still be wrong lol.

It finally feels a bit like spring today. So I better take advantage of it with a walk. They are calling for snow showers again for next week. I am so ready for some warmer weather. I just hope we don't jump right into hot summer and skip spring.

Feel better Michelle!

Since I've been in maintenance for a while now, I've been trying to add in some healthy higher carb items once in a while. Tonight I had some baked sweet potato with my chicken and vegetables. I had forgotten how delicious they are!! I only ate a half, and checked my blood sugar an hour and 2 hours after they meal. So far so good! My Blood sugar only had a minimal raise and was right back to normal at the 2 hour mark. I'll see how my weight does, but I'm excited to try this and see how it goes.

Is anyone still here?? Guess I will just talk to myself

So I ate the sweet potatoes for a few days. Had no problem with weight gain or cravings BUT they did a number on my stomach. The next couple of days were "bathroom" days! UGH So I did some research and apparently sweet potatoes contain a natural form of malitol So no wonder my stomach complaigned! I may try them again at some point and see if it really was the sweet potato, or just a coincidence with a stomach bug or something.

Hope someone is still around listening!

Hey, Alice, I'm still here! I eat an occasional sweet potato, usually only half of one at any one time. I hope it was something else going on with you because sweet potatoes are so good.

I did some shopping yesterday and was pleased with clothes fitting. I was buying large because I don't like things tight and liked that they covered up more of what I don't like, but now it seems that mediums fit better and large are really too big! Yay for me!
