I just been so busy with work, even working weekends at this point. Today is the first day I have been able to be in the office and have a little time to myself.

So I'm going to meet my bff at the beginning of November. (We met on Xbox about 6 years ago and she's like the yin to my yang, but we've never got to meet up IRL. She's in Maryland and I'm inTX). I decided I would like to be under 200lbs by then. So my new goal is to be under 200lbs by Nov. 3, 2013. That gives me 83 days from today to lose 34.5lbs.

Hi Everyone. It's been a little quiet around here lately. I'm just still doing the same old thing. Been pretty busy in our garden, doing lots of canning and freezing!

But I did want to pop in today to say I hit my lower goal that I've been shooting for!! I originally set it at 169, and when I hit that I thought 165 would be good to give me some breathing room. And I hit 165.5 today!! And that also finally puts me in the "desirable" range of the BMI scale! Woot Woot!

Congrats Alice!

I been around but no one has been posting and I'm not doing much around here. My body does not want to get away from 232-233 right now. I fit back into my 18's though so I'm pretty happy and content at the moment. Just trying to keep it pushing.

Hey All!

I haven't checked in here in a while. All is well, this week! Last week I wasn't so good, misbehaved quite a bit. But I'm back on track even got my Netrition order today!!

I did manage to squeeze my @$$ in a pair of 24's! I haven't done that in quite some years! I couldn't move, but they zipped

I've been back on night shift for about a month, the old man isn't happy about it. He'll get over it.

I haven't stepped on the scales in a few weeks, especially since last week was so bad. Maybe next week I will.

Other than that and school starting back for the kids, it's been pretty normal.

I'm still around! Just not much to report. I'm working on maintenance and trying to figure out the best level for that. I'm kind of thinking that maintenance is harder than losing. I know how to lose, it's the maintaining that's hard! LOL

Hello !

I have been lurking this thread, but didnt see any active posts... maybe some will come back and begin chatting??

My name is Brande aka Spunki, 38yrs old, following Atkins '72, doing very well..scale moving at a snails pace but its moving..so I am not complaining..

I posted my intro on the newbie introduction thread.. I am one of those, Been there, done that, succeeded to Goal, gained back 40ish lbs..

Here I am again, in a state that I swore I would never reach again, A Place I swore I left for good... but alas I have to get this weight off, and get back to goal..so that is my story in a nutshell.

What I may consider an NSV is I see co-workers eating HC foods, and I am so uninterested and literally think "WHY ARE YOU EATING THAT!!" , which is good the cravings for HC junk isn't there...which is Great!!! Definitely a mentality I lost along the way.

On the downslide, the co-workers do not understand low carb eating, and fuss at me for snacking on cheese cubes or a few pepperoni slices. I have zero energy to educate them, they can see the good in LC eating, when they notice my shrinkage

I love this website, & I think I've become slightly addicted to it! Which, hey..there are worse things to be addicted too

Hope to see some more people posting, and we can liven up this thread again

This year has been a year of maintenance with the food and I started walking more. Last June I started writing in my food log, the number of steps I walked each day. I would get to about 8,000 steps a day on average each month. I wanted to get to 10,000 steps a day. This is a woman who could not get off the couch without help in 2001 when I weighed 376 lbs. So today, the sirens were blowing and the bombs were bursting in my head as I came home from work and walk down to the end of my street and back so that I could go over the 1,000,000 th step since June 1st. That is over 400 miles. Quite an accomplishment for a 65 year old! I had my bp checked a week ago when I went to give blood and it was 104/70. The walking and the good gs proteins, fruit and vegetables with the love and support of a loving God, wonderful husband and great friends both here and in my general life contributed to making this a possibility. One day at a time. NMW. A&G&C. Odd thing is my maiden name is Walker yet I have never been one until this year.

Welcome Spunki!
Sounds like you are doing great! It's awesome when you can see someone eat things that you never could pass up in the past, and now the cravings are gone!

Hopefully more people will start coming back and checking in. I think everyone just got busy!

Hey Y'all,
This looks like a good thread for me cuz I'm a mostly a "lobby person". I have been on plan for 3 weeks and am down 12 lbs from my 286 restart on 09/06/13. I'm a repeat offender who has been low carbing off and on for years. I am trying to make this stick this time. I'm 33 and hypertensive with PCOS. If I want any kind of quality of life I have to stick with this forever.

Hi All!

I've been MIA for a while. Long story short I told work where to stick it about a month ago. And in that month, I've gained so much back, I'm ashamed, When I stepped on the scale this morning, I was expecting 10 more, maybe even 15 more. But 30?! Can a person really gain that much in 1 month? I about flipped out!

And with Dad having a heart attack yesterday (he's gonna be fine!), it's now or never.

And it really is hard not to grab a pack of cheese and crackers when you're hungry! But I did go to the store today, I love Aldi's! Lots of meat! And celery for when I need something crunchy. Eggs, some cheese, I'm prepared!

Well, I made it past day #1 of my re-start, with flying colors I might add. Today's plan is to fry the sausage and bacon and have it ready. Cut up all the vegy's, I know, but I have to have some. A few strips of green or red peppers a day won't hurt. I don't follow this precisely, just my own way. Less than 20 a day.

Now on to day #2, little steps, I can do it again!

Hi All! I'm here too. Haven't posted much cause I haven't seen much activity. I'm just trying to get maintenance figured out. Have not dropped below my low of 165, but that's ok. I think I'm at a good weight for me and just working on maintenance. I'm excited because I go to the doc this week. My weight is much improved from last year and so is my blood work! I'm hoping that she sees how hard I have worked for that.

Have a great day all!

I'm glad to see you guys. I'm really really going to try to start posting more. I'm still chugging along myself, kind of maintaining, been so busy I don't have time to plan my meals and get to the gym, but I think I'm going to try to start making myself a priority. I can see the difference in my body since I haven't been working out, even though my weight on the scale is slowly creeping down, I feel bigger.

My sister in law wants to try a Body Combat class with me and see if she wants to get a gym membership with me. I'm not optimistic but I sure would like someone to work out with.

Great job Mary! Seeing a new low is fantastic news!

Gibbs-I used to be a spaz about counting every little carb like in peppers, but man I wasn't happy and I was so stressed. I haven't been doing that and I'm losing but super slow. I mean oz at a time lol. We gotta do what we can to stay on plan for life.

Alice-Maint huh. I'm jealous. I'm 4.5 years in and I'm still not close lol. Although I have it down pretty good. That's what I'm basically doing I feel like. I'm so happy to hear about your good blood work!

Woo Hoo, just ordered chili, shirataki and crackers from Netrition! Mama Lupe was MIA, no ETA on her, so I can wait.

Am very excited about this re-do, I just could kick myself for going off plan!!

Day #2 was a bad case of the munchies. I passed but went over my 20 carbs by a few, I needed something sweet and pb and Cool Whip was the winner.

Todays plan is dust the treadmill off and give it a whirl...

Hey Y'all I'm on plan and in the "shrinking stage". I'm not seeing any movement on the scale but my clothes are looser and I am smaller to the visable eye.

I love the first week of a re-start, 2 days down and 10 pounds gone. Yea, I know it's water, am just LOVING to see it go this fast the first week. Now to hide the scale and not step back on for a while! I'll probably go back to the once a month weigh-in, that seemed to keep me on track better than once a week. I have less of an urge to have something I shouldn't.

Later All!!

Hi everyone,
We are getting some work done on our house. They are replacing windows this week. Then will put the siding on. Roof went on last week. The ouse is a mess. It is a great time to declutter. Throw stuff in the trash or give to good will.

But my meals are all made for tomorrow and lunch on Friday. It makes it so much easier to get ready in the morning. The most important thing I do each day is pray, plan and prepare my meals. I abstain from sugars, alcohol and grains. I don't eat unfermented dairy products. Proteins, veggies, a fruit and dressings. I can make some pretty good colorful meals out of them.

I'm thinking about posting every day here, it seems to keep me in line more. But you'll get tired of seeing me

Today is down 2 more pounds, no more on the scales until the first of the month.

Am off to Meijer to check out the Atkins meals!!!
