Just water retention in those sore muscles! That's my best guess.

I didn't eat off plan for the entire week, happy to say. I was back to 166/167 (junky dial scale) this morning BUT, went to the Frisco BBQ challenge today, it's an annual BBQ that encompasses the entire main street of the town I work in, with infinite BBQ stands to eat from. It's really hard for me to go to events like this and not have beer. It was super hot out, and I did have a couple of Coors Lights. But all I ate there were chicken wings. Then the grocery store had free samples of fondue w/salami and mushrooms (or bread). Just ate a caprese salad I bought ingredients for, right back on plan.

Lovely weekend everybody!

Hi everyone- great weekend- sun is shining, my 4 yr old grand daughter had her first dance recital= enchanting!
Scale still stuck between 222 and 223 so I made a decision yesterday....I ate some chips and dip, home made chocolate chip cookies and some excellent pizza...and today is Day 1 of Atkins induction which I have never done. I already only do 20 carbs or less but I am going to give up paleo products, seeds, nuts, wine, and push the veggies and meat and eggs as it suggests. If anyone has any advice would be greatly appreciated but my 2 weeks started this morning...btw after yesterdays eating the scale was 223.8. I said to my scale- BRING IT ON !!!!

Scale down a bit this morning but I fear will be up several pounds tomorrow, I went out to lunch with SIL and caved with Chinese food!! I don't know why I didn't just have my usual chicken wings and steamed veggie but I didn't even hesitate and ordered one of the specials that came with pork fried rice, of all things! I ate the pork, maybe a little rice but not much. I didn't eat anything with batter or wontons though so that counts for something. Later this afternoon I was hungry (as usual after Chinese food) and ate nuts which would have been ok but I had way too many - macadamias and pecans! Anyway, back on track for dinner. I may not even step on the scale tomorrow!

There, I've confessed!

Well after 3 days of not eating we all went out to celebrate an early father's day, my grand daughter's graduation from 5th grade, and my son's improvement( he is no longer critical, graduated to stable!); so of course my appetite suddenly kicked in at the restaurant and I ate way too much. Mostly meat (a wonderful 12ounce filet mignon) and veggies (an enormous salad bar) but also grabbed some cheese from the huge cheese wheel and had coffee with lots of cream.
Tweaker I am with you - may not weigh tomorrow.

Sounds like you did better than I did though, Shunsweets!

Unfortunately, my weekly weigh-in day is Monday, it's questionable at this point how that will work out. I'll play it by ear for this week, I just know that I won't be able to stay off the scale for too long!

Very happy to hear your son is doing better! Prayers that he will continue to improve quickly! And after not eating for 3 days you were bound to have a large meal. At least you stayed on plan! Good job!

Hi everyone! I have not been keeping up very good. My summer has been crazy but fun.

I have been having a horrible time with my weight loss. I am hoping for a whoosh soon. Just trying to be patient.

My son is being released from the hospital!! Once all the surgical scars heal he will be good as new. I am so thankful. They found that it was a fruit pit he had swallowed that caught in his intestines and caused all the damage and nearly killed him. So when we hear all those stories about not swallowing seeds, pits, cores of fruit we should heed them!

Meanwhile the 3 pounds I lost while he was so critical seems to be staying off so I am happy to be back at my goal weight and now the job is maintenance. Been trying just coffee with cream for breakfast as I am not really hungry in the morning (I usually eat to keep my blood sugar from rising as it does when I skip breakfast). I feel better without breakfast. Now I need to monitor bg a few days and see just exactly what skipping the meal does. I don't eat lunch on work days as it is too hard in my job environment so I will be eating one meal and a bedtime snack. I'll try that a few days and see how it goes.

I'm so happy your son is better !! That's the kind of news a former pediatric nurse always likes to hear

I am on Day 3 of induction. Yesterday the scale did not move at all- but today it is down 2.2 pounds. Woot!! 221.6. I'll take it. On my way to the pool for some water walking. Last nite I grilled a flat iron steak- first time I ever had one and it was delicious- just some pepper and it was awesome. Grilled some asparagus and broccoli with it and I was full. Hope you all had a nice Father's Day - I miss my Dad. ttyl

So so so glad to hear about your son Shun! Fantastic news.

Still chugging along here. Going to try to get a body combat class in at 4:30. I need to run to Old Navy and see if they have any capri leggings for class. I have some 2X from there from last year when I started working out and they fall off me in that class now. I have some 1X from Walmart that fit ok but they are made different and I don't like them.

Thanks Laurie14559. My son is an adult now but still my baby!

What a great NSV to need smaller capris MsWoods!

Just had a big bowl of salad with a scoop of chicken salad on top for dinner. Very good on this hot, muggy night.

Good morning!

So thankful your son is better Shun! Glad the scale is going down.
Woohoo on the small capris Michelle!
Wtg Laurie on the weight loss!

I didn't have a weight loss this week but I do have a mental positive to share with you guys.

Something new for me... when I'm watching tv, I'm not noticing the food commercials. That is awesome, are they selective only for those who want to see them? IDK but I am thankful I noticed that I'm not obsessing about food right now.

I had my first grape tomatoes yesterday. My squash are till only blooming, no squash. I need some good bees and some female blooms, lol.

I hope everyone has a good one!

Morning all. After a weekend of feeling achy, sore throat and yuk, I'm finally feeling better! And my bloat weight is gone and I'm back to 169. yay!

Shun, so glad your son is back home and all is well!

Have a good day everyone.

Glad you are feeling better Alice. Bloat weight is the pits. Looks like you are at your goal weight so that's fantastic!

Scalestepper- I still notice those darn food ads. Subway and Dunkin donuts seem to be continually on my TV. But I tell myself it is poison not food and so far have been able to resist. Doesn't help that there is a subway and a DD right by my house so I pass them several times a day. I haven't been in either ever and I want it to stay that way!

Caine - glad you checked in. Summer is a busy, happy time - enjoy.

I'm stuck here at work wishing I was out in this beautiful day but still glad I have a job and all is well. Plan to make something with chicken lol as it is sitting out thawing at home. Maybe chicken parm would be good.

Glad your son is doing well, Shunsweets!

Nice to see everyone doing well, I'm about the same - pretty much maintaining my one day up, one day down, two days up, one day down etc., etc., etc. I think it's just going to be this way so I'll go with it. I've lost 7.6 lbs. since 6/3.

A mini vacation to a family reunion in Kentucky this weekend went well, I stayed on track. Many high carb foods and lots of desserts, it was hard but I did it!! I feel bloated today, probably from lack of water this weekend and possibly too much Jack and Diet Coke Saturday night!

Good job Gibbs. I always make myself a nice LC dessert to take with me to events like that. I don't feel like I'm missing out. Last weekend I made a lemon icebox pie. I adapted a regular recipe to be LC and GF. It didnt turn out exactly right but it was good enough for me.

WTG on the weight losses.

I was cleaning in the bedroom yesterday and found my 2005 food journal. Made me sick sick I weighed 150, went to the gym, did the weight machines, walked everyday. I wonder why I let that go, dunno. Life just got so hard but eating didn't change a thing. I'm trying to get back to that sweet place.

My DH is out of surgery and doing good. He will be gere for another week. I am spending the night at a hostel for $15 a night, the rooms are better than any hotel, and they have a frig, stove and microwave. I planned my meals and brought them with me because I thought I was going to be at the motel. It has worked out because this way I don't have to ask the age old question "What do I feel like eating?" If I had to answer, it would probably be 'everything!' So by doing it ahead of time before all the emotions kicked in, I just have to eat what I brought. So far, so good.

Morning all! I haven't checked in in a few days, but not much really going on. It's been hot and sticky here so I'm staying inside a lot. Weight is holding steady and I'm basically just maintaining at this point. I might try to lose 5 more pounds just to give myself some wiggle room.

Mary, good to hear that your husband is doing well!

Hope everyone has a good Sunday!
