Alice - Yay! I knew you could do it, keep up the good work!

Laurie - hang in, you will get there!

Lilbeetle - congratulations on the loss! Maybe I should try meat and egg for awhile, I'll check out the page you mentioned, thanks.

I'm sorry to say I'm up 1lb. from yesterday, but I kind of expected it.

Morning all! It's a hot stick day here today. Supposed to be the hottest of the season so far, Ugh. Good day to stay inside!

After my loss yesterday, the scale actually showed another little drop this morning. I'm at 169 exactly now! My blood sugar has also dropped almost 10 points since I started testing it last year.

MsWoods - Body Combat? That sounds torturous. LOL

Laurie - Hang in there! You may well be losing inches even when the scale doesn't show it!

Have a good day all!

Great job Alice! You are doing really well.

Yes Body Combat. It's the exercise I've fell in love with. Done last night as well, my back muscles are really sore this morning. I'm not going today, they only offer 1 class on Wednesdays and it's not really one I like. It's basically like all mixed martial arts mixed into a class with music.

I'm starting to go back down from the TOM bloat. Not down to 243 yet, but I'm sucking down water like it's going out of style. Hopefully I'll make my way into the 230's soon.

Great results Alice! I love your upbeat posts.

Hey Michelle now I think of you when I see that ad where the woman is kicking a body bag at the gym after having a bad day. Think it is for a credit card company. Looks like a good way to get out stress. Your class is probably nothing like that but I still think of you when I see it.

Down .5 this morning. Slowly, slowly heading back to my goal weight.

Lol Yea we don't kick body bags but it's basically similar. If you're curious you can look at videos on youtube. It really is good for stress.

Great job on the .5 down.

I was feeling sick Monday (actually took a sick day) and ate some ice cream that night to feel better. Last night, something took over me. I found myself binge eating. When I realized that I was hiding what I was eating from my husband under the sofa cover so that he would not see me cheating, I woke up from my binge fog. Today, I have been very good. I ate fat bombs, a hamburger (no bun) with lettuce leaf and tomato slice. Dinner was a boiled egg after eating a fat bomb. I have been drinking LOTS of water (5-16.9 oz) today. (lots for me anyway). The swelling is already gone from my fingers so hopefully I am in the track to recovery.

Mcchimento, good for you for recognizing the behavior and stopping it!

Oh my it was so stinking hot here today. I went by a sign that said 99!! In June?? This is August weather normally. I usually enjoy a book sitting on my front porch but I started sweating after about ten minutes. Hoping it will cool back down in a day or so. At least I drank my water and a little extra. Glad to see everybody doing so well.

Scalestepper- Are you growing cucumbers in your garden or did you pick some up fresh? I picked up a couple yesterday and sliced them up for snacks. I realized the peel adds a lot of carbs! I love the peel, but I cut it off to reduce carbs

mcchimento-great job getting back on track. I look back before I started losing weight when I was around 400lbs and I used to hide food from bf. I would buy a lot of food and hide wrappers or take pizza boxes out to the trash so he wouldn't know. I was so sick. It makes me sad to think back to those days. I was in such a bad place mentally and physically. You just gotta keep going and you are!

Tweaker-I feel ya on the slowing down. TOM really messes me up. I'm still trying to get rid of water weight and get back down to my low of 243. Just really wanting to get into the 230's again. One day at a time, we will do it.

cfine-that's hot for yall in June? We're pretty much hot all summer. It's going to "cool down" to 94 and maybe some storms the next few days and I'm happy about that.

I'm still going here. Not losing anything real, but getting water off I guess. My feet and hands have been swollen the last couple of days and Idk why. I been trying to be good with my water so idk. I'm trying to drink as much as I can right now just to be sure.

Today will be a long day for me, my car is in the shop and I won't get it til this evening. I have a body combat class I really like to go to on Thursday's at 4:30 so bf is going to be schlepping me around today Poor thing. He had to bring me to work, then he has to go to the dr at 1, then come get me from work, take me to the gym, pick me up, then take me to get my car. He's a good man sometimes

Well have a great day everyone! I'll be around all day to check in. I can't leave my office lol.

I planted 3 vines in my small garden Michelle, they are producing 2-3 big burpless cucumbers a day. The water just oozes out. I peeled them and googled after I read your post, good thing to know about the peel. I don't care for it much anyway since I think there's the same goodness in the seed. I hope your day goes good!

I have hid food too, I hope I'm past that now.

I didn't know the cucumber peel added carbs, I always eat the peel on thin skinned cukes like mini Europeans and fresh from the garden. How many carbs do you think? I don't think I want to cut the peel off, I think the contrast of the green peel and white cukes looks pretty in a salad or just sliced on plate. I usually run a fork down the the sides of the cucumber before I slice it so the slices look fancy!

Stayed about the same today. I made a big pan full of "crack" slaw, I love that stuff. Having some for dinner with oven roasted zucchini and sliced radishes.

Michelle - I have no doubt that we'll make it, just takes time! I'm so glad you started this thread, keeps me more accountable. I usually just hang out in the recipes help and suggestions thread, lots of great peeps there and good ideas. Sometimes it makes me want to bake when I really don't need to though. (I bake anyway and freeze!)

I made a cucumber salad tonight actually. Diced up several, with a tomato, dill weed, raspberries, and aged parmesan flakes. I make a dressing of canola oil and red wine vinegar. It's hard not to overeat, it's so good on a summer day. It's actually much better with feta cheese, but forgot to get it when I stopped at the store.

Hi All!
Kind of a sucky day here today. My laptop crashed and I have been working on rebuilding it most of the day. One of those days that really makes it easy to binge on junk, but I did NOT! Could use a drink though. LOL

I also did not know about the peel. I usually peel mine for salads, but I will definitely remember that from now on. Unfortunately, our garden is nowhere near ready to pick cucumbers. Another month maybe. We got a late start this year because of all the rain.

Have a good night all!

When it comes to veggies, I don't count the carbs. I don't eat potatoes, corn or peas and some only eat 1/2 cp like pumpkin, winter squash, beets or onion, but the rest I weigh an 8 oz salad at lunch and 16 oz at supper. I mix romaine kettuce, the small persian (with peel), cukes, grape tomatoes, carrots, broccoli crowns, summer squash, zucchini, purple onion, homemade salsa, red pepper, all the colors of the rainbow to come up with 16 oz. it is a feast. When all is said and done, at the end of the day, I eat about 95-100 carbs of which 25-30 are fiber. It includes the fruit I have with my breakfast protein.

Today we flew to DC to see son graduate from college with Master's Degree and 4 little grand sons 6 and under. I am pooped. I fell just as we started walking, tripped over one of the boys and fell on both knees, left hand and right elbow. Black and blue but no scrapes or broken bones, thanks be to God. Bought some icy rub and ibuprofen for the pain and inflamation. I smell like wintergreen. Tomorrow we are going to the Lincoln Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery and more. They have it planned.

I ate breakfast at 5 am before leaving on the plane. The 1-1/2 hr flight took 4 hrs because of bad weather as we were initially diverted when they couldn't land. At lunch after we landed. Cold lunch that would have tasted better heated and my salad w/ dressing and tahini paste. But for supoer hubby went to Boston Market and got me roast chicken and beautiful steamed green beans. I made my salad from some tomatoes, carrots and cukes I briugt. My DIL bought me some lettuce and s/f dressing so it made up a nice salad. Tomorrow I am packing lunch to take it with me. I am binge free and following my plan, very grateful and committed that I have a plan I love and that works for me. Abstaining from my binge food and binge behaviors through the grace of God is the most important action I take each day. By doing this, I am making myself available to my grand babies and son because they have a 65 yr old who walked over 6 miles around DC today. I am pooped out and sleeping with the angels tonight. Over and out.

I will double check tomorrow at work I'm on my phone right now, but I may have remembered wrong on the peel, but I think it's like 2 carbs for a large, difference. To me that's a lot lol.

MaryMary, sorry about your fall. It sounds like you are having a grand time with your grands :-)

I'm back to eating more of a high fat/moderate protein WOE as of yesterday. I forgot how much more energy I have when I up my fat. We will see how it goes with the scales. Counting my calories too.

MsWoods, usually June is a little more mild in temps but it seems like it gets hotter every year. Maybe it's just me though.

My son had emergency surgery yesterday and I spent the whole day at the hospital. He is going to be alright. Didn't eat anything. Down two pounds this morning so back at my goal weight. I don't reccomend this diet - stress and fasting can not be too healthy lol.

Good going staying on plan Marymary. I know how exhausting (but fun!) the little grandchildren can be!

So sorry about your son, but glad he will be ok! I know that darn stress diet sure works, but it's definitely not good for your health!

My weight is holding steady, which thrills me because usually when I have a loss couple days in a row, I bounce back up for a few days. But not so far! Yay!

My sleep has not been great this week. I think a combination of the weather, and that darn menopause. I've been having more night hot flashes again - very annoying, and I'm drinking a lot more water so waking up at night to pee

Any of you ladies of "this" age have anything that works well for night sweats? I don't get any hot flashes during the day, it's just at night.

Beautiful day here so I'm going to try to enjoy it!

I'm back to .2 above my ticker weight. 243.3. That's good I guess all things considered yesterday. I did go to body combat, though.

Marymary - good for you staying on track. Enjoy those grandchildren! Congratulations to your son on his Master's.

Shunsweets - glad you son is ok! Yeah, that stress diet works but it's not one any of us want.

Alice - Sorry, I can't help with the night sweats, I used to get them but don't anymore, thank goodness, I hated that!. About all I could do was turn on an overhead fan.

I'm still doing ok, up one day, down the next. Sooner or later I'll go down and stay there awhile!

When I went rough menopause and got the night sweats, I turned on the fan and slept in my birthday suit, pulling on a sheet when they passed and kicking it iff when they returned.

That's pretty much what I've been doing. We turn up the AC and have a fan going. So I'm undercover until one hits and then throw the covers off and cool off. It just gets old waking up every hour! guess I will just have to endure until I'm past that point!

I guess I been in menopause my whole adult life lol. I've always slept just like that. It's too hot lol. I can't sleep when it's hot.

I've had a really long day. Really long. So I came home and took a 2.5 hour nap lol. I'll be up forever now. May go to the grocery store tonight.

Down another pound this morning. I'm sure it will spring right back once I am not spending every free moment at the hospital. It is the least of my worries right now.

I'm another turn up the air, and have a fan right on me every night. Poor DH sleeps with a blanket on his side of the bed - he's freezing.

Woke up this morning sore and stiff from all the gardening yesterday, plus a sore throat! ugh. Probably allergies. On top of all that the scale showed 2 pound gain from my all time low...sigh... I just have to tell myself that this is my usual pattern - lose, lose, then gain and then stabilize back down. Or maybe it's from the sore muscles!

Have a great Saturday!
