Sounds like we're all in the same boat! I don't think I'll gain weight on this trip to Scotland - doesn't sound like my kind of food and I guarantee there will be tons of walking. But when I get back, got to get my uh-huh in gear...for the umpteenth time!

I didn't sleep great last night. I'm sure I wasn't awake as much as I felt but ugh, no fun! got up early with dh to get him off. did my bible reading and am ready for work. I can leave a little later than normal today because we have a late start. meet at 8:00 for breakfast and a staff meeting and then will bring the students in at 10:30.

good morning. getting ready to get out of here for church. I want to go to my church this morning since I didn't last week, but dd22 asked if I'd come visit hers with her. I told her when she joined I would some time. I won't go often, but I need to do this since she asked me to.

I don't really have any other plans today. I'll just see what I feel like doing this afternoon. I got all my produce washed up and put away yesterday so at least I don't have to worry about that. I ended up blanching a freezing a few ears of the corn since dd22 doesn't like corn on the cob and its only dh and I here. I kept 2 out that dh is going to try and cook on the grill tomorrow for us.

I didn't shell the fava beans yet, because I'm not positive when I'm cooking them and everything I read shows they last longer in the shell so I'll do that when I know I'm going to be cooking them in the next day or so.

hoe you all have a wonderful Sunday.

Stews - I need to investigate if there is a similar produce program in my neck of the woods -- I love trying new things!

I'm at work this morning but with a pounding headache and NO Tylenol or Aleve in my purse. I'm going to hit the on-campus convenience store when they open at 8am. I may need to go home early today.

Today's meals:
B: sausage
L: tuna salad: tuna, hard-boiled egg, mayo, little shredded cheese
D: sauteed chicken tenders w/Franks, cucumber spears

so far I've been really happy with it, Kim. I think this was the 6th time I've gotten a basket I plan to continue.

sure hope you feel better.

I'm all ready, got my bible reading and a little prayer time in and will leave for work shortly. dh is bbqing for dinner tonight. yeah!

BEAUTIFUL day here today. yeah! would have been nice to have this on the weekend but I'll take it when I can get it. at least I get off early enough to enjoy it. I came home after work and sat on the porch for awhile. then I decided to surprise my dh by making potato salad to go with dinner. he LOVES it and I don't think to make it at home often unless its for a bigger family dinner or something. I had quite a few potatoes that needed to be used up so made a big bowl of it .

I have corn on the cob soaking in water so it'll be ready for dh to put on the grill. we've never cooked it that way but I can't wait! he's also grilling burgers. dinner is going to be SO good!

his schedule is weird this week. today is his first day off (usually he gets 4 off in a row). BUT he's covering for someone who is off tomorrow so has to go in and work 1 night of graveyard, then he'll have wed off and thur. he has to cover for someone else who has training that day but its day shift not night shift.

today went pretty well at work. one kid had a attitude that got him in trouble a little, but he made it through. everyone got a lot of work done, that was nice. It may have helped that 2 of them couldn't come to class because of something that happened over the weekend. ended up on locked down status from the guards. and those 2 are ones that have been pretty big issues in class lately. anyway, at least my first day this week was a LOT LOT LOT better than last week.

I left work only about 90 minutes early -- only to have to run back to the office a couple hours later to join a late webex. For some reason I couldn't get logged in to my system from home. Annoying! My head is still not 100% -- I think I need to make an appointment to get my eyes checked. I haven't gotten new glasses for a few years so I'm sure it's time.

Now I'm home -- I grilled up some chicken tenders with Kickin' Chicken seasoning and nibbled on a couple. I don't have much of an appetite because of my headache. I just did a load of laundry and now have my feet up and am watching last night's Celebrity Apprentice finale.

work was not too bad today. had better had worse. most of the boys were pretty good and worked hard. had a few...not so much. a lot better than most days last week. one of them is ramping up with attitude knowing he's getting out on Thurs. he's in for a surprise when I kick him out without giving him 3 "checks" for behavior if he shows no effort to do what he is supposed to .

weather isn't great today. not terrible, but on the chillier and grey side. dh has to work 1 night of graveyard tonight so I'm on my own this evening but he'll be around tomorrow. no plans. leftovers for dinner.

I did finely use my coupon code from keurig to get 2 free boxes of k cups. I so far have just bought in town or from costco but decided to go ahead and get some that I can't typically find in the stores here.

19 more school day wake ups

so, dh is at work now (actually left about an hour ago). I'm sitting here in my jammies with the pups watching netlix and dvr (not at the same time ).

I also went and brushed my teeth as soon as dh left so MAYBE I wouldn't be tempted to eat more this evening. sipping on lemon water, though.

Another rainy day -- I can't remember when we last saw the sun. Everything is so damp in my house -- ick -- I hate it. I've been trying for a week now to go look at and purchase shrubs and the weather has not cooperated. I found a private nursey (someone's home property) just a few miles from my house where they are selling established shrubs for a very low cost. I have an appt to go there today at 4pm, but it's supposed to be another all-day rain and I'm not going to go if it's raining. I might melt!

Today's menu:
B: sausage patties
L: romaine salad w/grilled chicken, red peppers, baby cucs, parm cheese & Olive Garden dressing
D: chicken breast -- sliced into tenders and sauteed with Franks Hot sauce, baby cucs w/Costco Jalapeno Yogurt dip

you aren't sugar, you won't melt (my mom used to tell us that, lol). living in WA we had to learn to not be babies about the rain....BUT there are times where you just don't want to so I don't blame you one bit.

Its rainy here today too, but we did see the sun on Sunday, at least.

ahhhh, 2 more wake ups then a 3 day weekend. yeah! and 19 more school day wake ups then summer break. I can NOT wait!

home from work. had some potato salad and tortilla chips for lunch (yeah, silly lunch, but it sounded good and it was quick to grab).

work started out rough today but it ended much better after I ended up kicking out 3 boys and 2 more got released today. 18 more school day wake ups!

dh and I just finished dinner and am sitting here watching some tv. I cooked up my fava beans that I got in my bountiful basket. ended up making a succotash with them. EASY and they turned out pretty good. dh said they would be worth making again, even. yeah! Nice to try something new and have it turn out edible
