Still here and still just about the same. Its a very warm day today and will be again tomorrow so something should happen on way or the other. Weird day at work with no patients but getting lots done. Liz we pretty much just have to wait it out, we live on a small island but I do have an upstairs if needed. If it starts getting worse they will start taking the elders out little ones. They do know what they are doing so its mostly a waiting game. Hi Pat stop running so fast, glad you still at your yoga. Deb I drink tons of water that was never a problem for me. I am starting to hate winter too!!! But almost 20 out there today just lots of ice. Cheryl it was noisy when it broke that was the video I was trying to share but couldnt. It quiet now but when it all starts moving again it will be loud I am sure. Not sure how long it will take since we would all have to leave by helicopter. It hasnt flooded much since before I moved here around 22 years ago, this is the scariest I have seen it. Hopefull the heat will melt it and get the jams moving. The water level is not going up write now and the boys are home with DH cleaning my big lawn Laura thanks and I hope it goes away as well. Hard to believe but other then my cheat on Saturday night I have been sticking right to plan. Pasta.Brocolli and garlic bread for the boys tonight. BBQ Pork chop and broccoli for mom. Really want to get some more weigh off by summer. Hope your all having a great day.

Sounds like some nice weather in Canada. We are in the 50's F. They predicted 70's. oh well. Maybe tomorrow.

I had bacon for breakfast.

Wieners for lunch.

Not sure about Dinner yet. Then off to SAMS.

Just made an appt to take all the pets to the Vet on Thursday for routine shots. That should be fun I've never tried taking them all at once. The LD is going to get groomed and prettied up next week. Deb did you see Buddy?

Jo. I'm glad this isn't "normal" and you don't go thru this every year. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Pay nice to see you

Had a great relaxing weekend. It was so warm and sunny, I actually got a nice tan. Finally Summer weather

Deb sounds like you had a great weekend too. Glad you got to see Buddy.

Cheryl glad your snow did stay long. Thanks for asking, my jaw is alot better with the new meds. Have to stay away from anything citrus, but back to eating on plan again. Got to go to a specialist on the 20th, just hoping they don't operate to take them out.

Jo wtg on the weight loss, your doing great. Wow those are some pictures, hope it goes away soon and no flooding for you. How long does it usually take to melt, it's so thick.

Liz I'm just restarting induction too.

Hey everyone ~

Good day here. Warm and nice outside ! But, saw a few mosquitos ;/ Ugh... they love me !!!!

Back to work tomorrow for just 3 days this time..... then off . Don't know if any of you read my journal - it's pretty boring - but we'll be going to DH's sister's wedding (outside) in Okla and then rented a pet friendly Cabin for a few days with hot tub and walking trails Can't wait.

It's Mother's Day and my BD next week, so we decided to just spend a few days away since we'll already be in Okla.

Made The Chicken Lady's Carrot Cake today......OMGosh ! It is absolutely fabulous Best LC dessert I've ever had !
Made tons of meatballs today and a huge skillet of the cabbage/bacon too ......
Also have lots of leftovers - steak, grilled pork chops, salad, tilapia , etc....... so I'm set for work.

Froze a few slices of carrot cake to take on trip Can you say breakfast ?? <3

Deb - WTG on the exercise
Misty - glad you can eat now, and I hope they can fix the problem easily !
Jo - any luck getting rid of the ice yet ?
Liz - how are you doing ?
Cheryl - Sams ? What did you get ?
Pat - glad you are back !

Dishes done, hot shower done, remote at side ~ DONE Gonna watch a Iron Chef that I haven't seen yet
Have a good evening everyone !

I can post my menus but its pretty boring stuff I'm not an adventurous dieter. That cabbage sounded pretty good.

Jack I've never tried a fat bomb. What is the other diet you were talking about ? There are quite a few of us in the 50 ish age bracket here.

Where are Pat and Misty?

I'm heading to Texas the end of this month.

I'm a SW Missouri hillbilly. but we have a place- mobile home on lakefront property in Ok so I'm an Okie too I think that makes me a double hillbilly.
Cheryl, where r u heading 2 in Tx? Sounds like u get around a lot.

The "fat bomb" is a concentrated dose of fat. Not sure if it's an official term.

Nutritional Ketosis is the diet approach that focuses on higher fat, low carbs, and more moderate protein. Very similar to Atkins. The idea is that excessive protein gets converted to glucose, which defeats ketosis. N K'ers are more precise about ketosis, going so far as to test blood like diabetics. Not sure im ready to go that far.

I did try what they call "bullet proof coffee." It's coffee with @ T of coconut oil and @T of butter. I added davinci sugar free vanilla and coco powder. Pretty good and totally kept me hunger free for HOURS. Seems 2 work.

this is from a F/B friend

.This is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!
Loaded Cauliflower Casserole

Great for Low Carbers

Just like mac and cheese without the pasta

2 lbs cauliflower florets
8 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
8 oz shredded Monterrey Jack cheese, divided
8 oz block cream cheese, softened
4 tablespoons heavy cream
2 bunches green onions, sliced (1 1/2 cups)
6 sliced bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 clove garlic, grated
Salt & pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Steam cauliflower florets until tender.
While cauliflower steams, cream together 6 oz of the shredded cheddar, 6 oz of the Monterrey Jack, cream cheese, and heavy cream.
Stir in sliced green onions, chopped bacon, and garlic.
Set aside.
Drain any liquid from steamed cauliflower and add to cheese mixture.
Stir cauliflower and cheese mixture together.
Taste for seasoning, and add as necessary.
If you want a finer texture, give a few mashes with the potato masher.
Pour into a 2-3 quart casserole and sprinkle on remaining cheddar and Monterrey Jack cheese.
Cover dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and continue to bake until cheese is brown and bubbly.
Enjoy!

nice day today, in the 80's. Got up early and went to the gym and going for a nice walk in a bit. Made sure I drank plenty of water and stayed right on plan. Day 3 of induction and sure feeling it. Really tired but it should be gone in a few days.

Jo wtg go your ice is finally leaving, must be such a relief.

Laura sounds like your going to have a great time with a mini vaca and the wedding. I do read your journal. Sounds like you were lucky and found a nice outfit to wear to the wedding. Where can I find the recipe for the carrot cake. Sounds so good and I love it but not all the carbs.

Cheryl how did you make out taking all the pets to the vet.

Liz how many days have you been on induction so far. 3 days for me. Slipped off when I got sick. Glad your on the mend from your surgery. Got to make me some lc rootbeer floats, haven't had that in awhile. Acutally I forgot about it. Like to use diet orange too, tastes like a creamcycle.

Deb where you going at the end of the month, must of missed it. Just copied your recipe, going to make it tomorrow. Maybe with a nice steak. How did you like going to your new exercise group?

Pat how you doing, are you still in Maui?

Mary hope your doing good and still on plan.

So happy the ice is moving, Jo!

WTG on the exercise, Deb. Love the cauliflower recipe.

Great idea for orange soda w cream. Il have 2 try that, Misty.

I think this is day 3 of induction for me, too. I'm so happy 2 be back to what works. I've already lost some weight.

Stayed on plan today. Had bacon and eggs 4 breakfast with bullet proof coffee. Yogurt and flax for lunch. Some diet rootbeer. Turkey sausages w kraut and a few brocolli florets 4 dinner. Cherry jello for desert. Lots of water.

Well off to the gym early, it's Wednesday so going to work for awhile then off to girls day shopping and lunch.

Jo do you have clear waters yet. I'm sure your so releaved that it's going fast with no flooding in your area.

Liz wtg on starting to lose already, LC always works for me too. My 1st time doing Atkins back in 04 I got to goal in know time and maintained for years but you know the rest, I messed up and gained alot back. This time I'm going to give myself a 5 lb window when I get to goal and keep it that way.

good on plan day yesterday, B-scrambled eggs with onion, broccoli and cheese. L- vegi soup, D-sliced turkey, roasted broccoli, sm. salad. Snack SF jello whipped with whipped cream/ forgot to add lots of water.

Its all clear in front of us and I pole walked 5 km last night. Doing 5 tonight then were going to an hour of boot camp. The girl that runs bootcamp is a personal trainer and I have asked her to work with me twice a week besides bootcamp . So with my pole walking I should see improvements. I did make popcorn last night for all of us to celebrate the ice moving and everyone was excited! I know I need all the added exercise to move towards my goal and was so pumped about it until winter so now i am going to push myself with the help of other people. Weight loss might slow down as mucles build for awhile so there will be alot of measuring. We can do this girls, we are not the fat girls we are going to be the sexyfiftythe new thirtygals. My husband was asking me the other day about a women at the hospital. He is NOT good at decribling someone. He said that old women with so and so. My mind was spinning trying to figure out who he was talking about ( for the record this women is not fat) so he is like, you know her, I see you talking to her. I was still confused. So he told me where she worked and what her hair was like and I was shocked. I said you mean_______. He said yes, I stared at him like he was crazy or about to get killed by me. Then I said she is not old, she is younger then me. He then looked at me like I was nuts and said no way. Then said she looks way older then you. She must not look after herself like you do, Now you have to remember my DH is 10 years younger then me but I really though this women was cute. Still made me feel good about me. Every so often the little darling (on a good day) will bring out of picture of me at 258 and I cant even believe I looked that big and it reminds me I never will again. So after the popcorn backk to induction levels for me but I dont thinkit kicked me out of Ketosis since other then broccoli its the only carbs I had yesterday. I forgot to eat my lemon fatbomb yesterday and I think that why the popcorn happened. I hope you all have a wonderful day its sunny here.

Had a great day shopping, got alot of nice summer clothes. Can't believe how all the sizes vary.

Jo you got a nice water view finally. I know when our ice melts which is nothing like yours it just looks so nice. You all were so lucky, now sounds like your right on plan and getting in your exercise. We have a neighborhood walk when the weather gets nice. So good to walk and talk and the next thing you know, you've walked a long way.
