Hi, Deb . I think i remember you from the couch to 5k board. R U running a 1/2 marathon? WOW!

I'm getting back to the only woe that works for me long-term--low carb and community support. I did so well and only got off track in the last year. The fat crept back on while i deluded myself about my ability to handle carbs.

I'm a 50 something Texas mom of 3. I do volunteer work and work part time from home in between cooking, cleaning and being the mom taxi.

Cheryl I just shred the cabbage and put it in a pan that I have cooked some BACON in - just dump it in on top of the bacon and bacon grease. Cook medium until wilted and slightly browning. Salt and pepper. super yummy ! Sometimes I cook onions with bacon too.

Oh my gosh, I made a compound butter with all my little herbs from the porch and put it on top of my new york strip last night.........it was fabulous !!! DH said it was OK ... really ??
More for me !

Have a great day guys !

Why Texas? Canada is so beautiful.

So glad you're still running. I had to give it up. My podiatrist said i was risking arch collapse.

I've got 3 boys. Started late. One still in elementary school.

I have many interests. Call me Jack.:-) Mostly do writing and finance work freelance.

Did i forget something? It's hard to see on my tablet--but so convenient. I can truly multitask.

I do love the hot weather--but it can get scary hot and dry. If i had to choose, i'd stick w Texas. Snow and cold every now and then is fine. I hate being a slave to a snow shovel and gloves.

I'm thinking of tweaking my Atkins 72 approach. I've heard of a similar protein limited low carb plan that focuses on higher fat. Anyone tried it? Thoughts?

I tried one of the "fat bomb" coffee concoctions with butter and coconut oil,and it rally curbed the hunger.

I'm up for posting food to b accountable and share ideas.

Jo that looks like it would be noisy. And so dangerous. How much time do they give you to get out? Or does it happen quick when it happens? I just can't imagine!

I can post my menus but its pretty boring stuff I'm not an adventurous dieter. That cabbage sounded pretty good.

Jack I've never tried a fat bomb. What is the other diet you were talking about ? There are quite a few of us in the 50 ish age bracket here.

Where are Pat and Misty?

I'm heading to Texas the end of this month.

I'm a SW Missouri hillbilly. but we have a place- mobile home on lakefront property in Ok so I'm an Okie too I think that makes me a double hillbilly.

I used to love weight training. I have all kinds of free weights, barbells, etc a weight bench, a weight machine. But it's been years since my body will put up with even light weights.
