All ok here...

Still here. Still fine. No cravings.
I'm also retired and I'm amazed I'm not sport eating right now
Have a great day everyone!

Up a tad. .2, from yesterday. Didn't stay on plan and had too few calories and proteins. Bummer.

Oh, I fell bad guys.
I told you about the cake making night I had to get through... Well I didn't make it and haven't jumped back on the wagon yet!

I have a party to go to tonight and tomorrow... Then I should be in the clear.

Good luck getting back on the wagon, Low Carb Librarian! My eating has been off the past few days because of the stomach flu going around our house. Blech! So, I'm hoping tomorrow my residual illness/cramping is gone and I can have some normal meals!

Still sugar free. Couldn't sleep till 2.a.m. Ugh. The days that follow those sleepless nights usually are harder. Breakfast, 4 pieces of bacon, one egg. Yesterday that breakfast made me skip lunch. We'll see. I feel some shrinkage but I don't step on the scale every day. End of next week I might weigh in.
I find the heavy cream I have been using in my coffee last 2 days makes me hungrier. I just checked label, second ingredient dextrose. That needs to go. The fat in the cream is not helping and I am going to kick it to the curb. I am having cream cheese/99% chocolate after dinner as a pseudo dessert without issues.

Had two bites of cake at a restaurant last night and then wished I didn't. On the plus side, I was able to stop at two bites and don't have any cravings so far today.

On plan. 33 lbs to go.
-1 this morning from last weigh in. Was going to weigh in next week but I could feel that I had lost. Losing better than with low fat/low calorie. Losing anything in menopause is monumental. I have a mini goal of 5 lbs per month. Anything over that is a bonus!
Planning meat/egg today for the most part. Black coffee this morning...cream is gone. I don't really need cream in my coffee so I don't feel deprived. I usually drink coffee black. Also want to limit it to one cup right now as I am having insomnia issues which are being caused by 5htp. It makes me so agitated. Wow. I was taking it so I wouldn't wake up at 3 a.m. Now I can't get to sleep at all. Just going to do magnesium.

Hey guys,
What happened here? Everyone at goal?
I'm down 1.6 lbs. Had my calories and protein too low for a few days and gained. Back to normal. Staying on plan. Report in folks.

Sorry Emgee, didn't see your post.

All good!

I'm still doing well. Rolls are shrinking.I was grocery shopping yesterday and noticed just how much space there is for boxes of sugar essentially. Aisles and aisles of sugar in bright boxes. Advertising has really done some harm.
I can't believe how much less anxiety/depression I'm feeling. It wasn't from menopause after all. It was from way way too much sugar. I don't feel desire for ice cream now, just annoyed and regret that I didn't do this sooner.

It's been a rough 10 days at my house, with all 5 of us taking turns passing around the stomach flu. (kids' vomit laundry---the WORST!) Once it went around the circle, one kid got it again! Knock on wood, we are in the clear, but I will freely admit eating sugar during some of that stressful time. I'm not happy with it, but I find I'm a stress eater. I lost 4 lbs during all that, but I'll weigh myself for my "real" weight later this week.

Today I will not eat sugar!

Passing around a cold here too... I thought it was just allergies until my little one started to sound just like me.

Starting once again on the no sugar path.

Thanks Lindy

Well, had a small amount of roast for breakfast, 2 eggs for lunch & tablespoon peanut butter. I thought I needed some uncured bacon...ugh...no...gag.. We're trying to put up fences here as this is a new subdivision. I'm looking for the smiley for bangs head against wall.....
Anywho...point is I'm frustrated but not eating sugar as was my usual M.O.

Keep on going well ladies and gents and lurkers all.

Hey all!

Doing fine on day 2 back. Still sick and more family members are catching it now.

Feeling kinda gross and down, but not giving in to sugar.

Hey, if you can not give in to sugar feeling like you do, nothing can stop you. Hang in there, this is only temporary. Proud of you.

Thanks!
But wait, there's more!
My son broke his leg today... I found out on my way home that he was on the way to the ER.

We treated him to a milkshake on the way home... No shake for me! I really wanted one...

Awww hope he gets well soon! Good job on skipping the milkshake!

I'm still doing fine. Yesterday for some unknown reason, I did slightly less fat and more protein. Not as good in terms of mood or appetite suppression. Going back to high fat, less protein.
Down another 1/2 lb. My husband hugged me on his way out this morning and said "Hey, you're losing weight."...

Oh man, what a bummer.

Sorry Jeaniem, just saw this. No I'm not tracking calories. That makes me a bit nutty. I used to do that a lot and ended up in binge city. Just estimating macros by eyeballing. I can see too much protein because I googled the protein content of a pork chop at first and went
I'm not bingeing Jeanie!! Believe me today is a high stress day but not planning on sugar. Daughter lost her wallet & passport in the States.

The meals just got smaller on their own really but if I'm hungry I'll go have something. Last night I couldn't sleep (again!) and got a piece of Parmesan. Even though it usually sets of more cravings than other cheeses I figured I was going to sleep so it wouldn't matter. All was good.

A good day today. Switched from NK to Perfect health diet on other plans. Basically a Paleo with a little extra. Really healthy. Thats what I'm going after. Dropped .2 after day 1. We'll see.

I'm going to preface this with I didn't start out with this "menu". I was eating way more food and fat..it just dwindled on its own. It varies by day. Yesterday I had no appetite till 1:30.
Sometimes, I'll have an egg in the a.m cooked in butter (at least 1 tbsp)
For a snack I might have a heaping tbsp of natural peanut butter
Lunch...some home made hamburger or chicken or salmon & some fat which for me is probably butter :
Sometimes later if I am wanting something for no good reason, I'll have a teaspoon of coconut oil..I find with more I get bathroom issues..and it's enough oil that it shuts off hunger again
Dinner...some kind of meat & fat (not large servings)
Dessert sometimes, a slice of cream cheese and about 3 pieces of 99% dark chocolate.
I'm not doing veggies. I'm not worried about it. If I wanted a salad I would have a small one. Not craving any sweets and that is including fruit.
Not using any sugar substitutes not even gum. I am taking a vitamin and potassium (600mg) & magnesium and sometimes 5htp for sleep.
The 5htp is a really interesting story. I was on another board and reading a lot of posts by someone who stopped binge eating with 400 mg of 5htp (2x200). She mentioned a particular brand that was very effective..Natrol 5htp with B6. I bought it but this brand is really too much for me. It makes me agitated and my sleep is made worse not better. I can PM you the website and person if you want to read her posts. Not sure what is allowed here and what is not. She went 18 months without a struggle. Nary even a thought of binging. But you cannot mix this with anti depressants.
I did ballpark calories calculation yesterday and roughly I think I am coming in at about 1000. The only struggle I am having right now is having to wait to do this slow crawl to goal. I won't go back to sweets because not only is the weight coming off but several health problems are improving and they were driving me nuts. It was partially my motivation for getting the weight off.
If I am feeling leg fatigue I make myself my own version of an electrolyte drink which tastes like salt and vinegar chips lol. At least to me.

You know it's funny but I was reading that NK produces some chemical that is similar to the one that produces longevity from caloric restriction. I find that really interesting. You can find numerous articles on how sugar ages you.

Thanks for all the info emgee. I tried 5htp w/ the b6 ( time released and regular) and it did help a little with the binging but it made me really tired.
