Hope you are feeling better, DP.

dd22 got her friend off to the bus for his long ride home. her roommate is out of town looking for a job. she will now have to get used to having her place to herself.

I came home from work to find her here. I think she just came over after taking her friend to the bus station.

Peskie! First kiss? Oh my! --- I love that she shared that with you.
Lenise -- hope you're feeling better. I bet you're happy your DS is home.
Jackie -- I hope you're able to rest and can shake the flu bug!
Stews -- Enjoy your time with dd22 -- I came home and found DS23 here -- he knew I was bringing home his Christmas present -- a Mophie iPhone 5 battery case. They didn't come out until late March and I insisted he wait until they were available at Verizon -- I get 25% off.

Busy day again -- but after a gorgeous weather weekend, I had a better attitude at work. My boss took my PM and I out to lunch. We went to Houlihans -- I had my favorite there -- and 100% on plan. Chicken Heartland Salad -- mixed greens, grilled chicken, cheddar, bacon, spicy pecans && garlic ranch. YUM!!

I came home and raked all of the old mulch out of my hosta bed. It's south-facing and the spot for hundreds of box elder bugs hang out. I read that cocoa bean mulch is a good thing to use --box elder bugs don't like the cocoa smell. I didn't spread it yet -- just raked it out, put down some Preen and am going to wait for the rest of my hostas to shoot -- only 2 of the 7 are poking through the dirt right now.

Today's food:
B: sausage patties
L: chicken salad
D: roast beef, 2 slices sharp cheddar, horseradish

thanks Kim. dd22 left a little while ago to go home but we have spent time with her a few times in the past week and since she lives in town we do see her often.

Thanks everyone. I was out for the count most of yesterday but by evening was better. My allergies are a mess from the rain but at least I don't feel like death

Taking Kyle to school and then hitting the weights.

glad you are feeling better, DP. being sick sucks, but being sick with kids makes it so much worse.

I'm up and partly ready. came down to have a cup of coffee before dh leaves for work this morning.

Jackie -- glad you're feeling better this morning. My allergies are rampant this morning, especially after raking out mulch yesterday.

Stews -- Have a great day at work! I love having Andy, Melissa & Hailey so close -- about 5-8 minutes away.

Just have a few minutes before a meeting, but thought I'd get in an post my menu:

B: sausage patty, small piece zucchini italian sausage quiche (crustless)
L: salad w/chicken, cheese, cucs, peppers, jalapeno ranch dressing
D: spinach artichoke parm cheese stuffed chicken breast, steamed broccoli

dd22 lives about 10 min give or take depending on how you hit the lights.

dd24 lives about 6 to 7 hours away and ds29 lives about 24 hours away.

yesterday was good, small class. hopefully today will be the same but we need our numbers to go up tomorrow. the first day of the month is count day which affects how much money we receive for funding. our numbers are the lowest they've been all year so we REALLY need some students tomorrow. (how sad is that hoping to get students in juvi, lol). just for 1 day then they can go again .

Hey ladies... On my cell, so didn't get to read the past couple pages. Had a good - but busy - weekend. Yesterday was a normal Monday. Was tired. Watched a movie with Sara when we got home and I was passed out by 9:30. LOL

Today is crazy at work. Month end so we are pushing orders out. But it sure is making the day fly by - which is great because I'm off tomorrow! I have my concert. Same band I saw in February, alone. Shinedown! Seeing them alone again. And got a meet and greet so I get to meet them and get a pic!!

Scale stunk this morning. Showed a .6lb gain - however, I got TOM later on in the morning. So hopefully thats why. Cuz there is no reason for a gain.

Well, gonna finish lunch. TYYL

Amy -- have a great time tonight! Andy loves when he has a meet & greet. He and Jessie (sister) are going to see Hollywood Undead together and he tried to convince her to get the meet & greet -- it was an extra $55 for just that part of the package. She said no way!

I'm addicted to my new salad I'm making -- most ingredients from Costco:
miniature baby romaine hearts
baby colored peppers
petite baby cucs
shredded sharp cheddar
rotissiere chicken breast
jalapeno ranch dressing

Yum! I'm already planning on making another one for tomorrow's lunch!

Definitely glad my son is home. Don't know what I'm going to do when he moves away from home for good. I know it won't be too much longer. He'll be 20 in August. That's when I moved away from home.

Made cheeseburger soup and salad for dinner. tasted really good. Think I'm going to take a salad for lunch tonight at work.

One more night at work and then I don't have to be back until Monday night!! Woohoo!! I'm going to enjoy the time off and get a lot of work done around the house.

Nighty night!

enjoy your time with him. I do miss my kids that have moved away (dd22 doesn't live with us but lives close by). BUT, we are also enjoying having it be us and our space too. this is a very good time in our lives, actually. I loved having the kids and enjoyed each age (and hated each age, LOL) but this is what we raised them to do and we are going to enjoy the new phase in our lives.

soooo, got a text from my 22 year old daughter this morning while I was at work saying falling off her bed hurts. she has a loft bed that dh built for her a couple years ago because of a small apartment bedroom. so when I asked her how she did it I got this answer "I don't know...I was going down a waterslide, then I was awake and falling. My best guess is I was sleepwalknig and slipped going down the ladder...curse those fuzzy socks..."

yikes! I'm so glad she didn't get hurt bad. said she thinks she pulled a muscle in her arm but it was already better then it was last night after she did it. I'm so glad she didn't hit her head or anything. same time I can't help but giggle at her thinking she was going down a water slide, oh my! poor kid

I feel a little guilty laughing about this but I can't help it *blush*.

all ready for work. its going to be NICE the next few days and into the 80's by the weekend! I think we are going to take the motorcycle ride Sunday afternoon.

tonight we are going out to eat after dh gets home. he has gotten in the habit of wanting to go get pancakes after his last day shift (before starting graveyard the following night). I'll come home and have lunch when I get home from work, then wait to eat dinner till then, I guess tonight.

We are predicted to get 3-6" of snow starting this afternoon into tomorrow. This has been the craziest "Spring" that I can remember.

The chicken dish from Costco was yummy last night, but realized after I cooked it that it had "stuffing mix" added to the spinach and artichokes. I pulled out as much of the bready-parts as I could. It was delicious!

I'm down 9.4 lbs since my 'epiphany' and jump back on plan last Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. Still have a looooong ways to go. My first goal is 20# down. Haven't decided on a mini-goal reward yet -- probably a new book for my nook.

Today's meals:
B: tiny piece zucchini italian sausage quiche, 3 sausage patties
L: leftover roast beef with horseradish
D: romaine salad w/chicken, cheese, cucs, peppers, jalapeno ranch

Have a great day!

I know . what's funny is she doesn't want anything to do with sun or anywhere you would wear a swim suit. she is laughing about it too, although she was pretty sore last night.

by the way...did you know you can freeze lemons whole? just throw them in the freezer? I always have a pitcher of water in the fridge with sliced lemons. I can now buy a big bag and just put them in the freezer. PLUS, they are less messy when I slice them while frozen because the juice doesn't go everywhere.

gotta be a little careful slicing though. most have been pretty easy but once in a while i get one that is extra hard. if I get one too hard I'd just let it sit and thaw a little before slicing. haven't had to yet, but I came close a couple of times.

yup! I love that I can just pull one out of the freezer and slice it up and throw it in water. also if you need the zest for anything you can take it right out of the freezer, use a zester to take off how much you need and put the lemon back in the freezer if you want. I wouldn't use them for anything that needs lemon to look pretty once thawed. the first time I did it I thawed it before slicing and it 'seemed' like more juice so was messier. for what I use it for that's not a problem but I REALLY like being able to just throw the frozen slices in the pitcher. no mess to slice it even unless I slip and cut my finger, LOL! (hasn't happened yet )

heading to bed. one more day then WEEKEND! yeah!
