Fell Off Plan- Anyone want to get back on track together?

I think having a "Let's Get Back On Track" buddy will help.

I've been lax on my diet the past week or so. Enough that I gained back 4lbs! I'm in the process of moving so I've just been stressed and making excuses. I just don't feel like making anything and have just been eating soup and bread. I haven't been gorging by ANY means at all but even this small period of indiscretion is making the weight come back on!

Anyone else been bad the past week or so? Want to get back on track with a buddy?

Let's do it!

HI,
I will join you. I restarted, again on monday. I am going to try hard this time NOT to fall off. My downfall is the weekends. My DH loves Pizza, beer, wings. You get the idea and it is much easier for me to just give in to these foods than not. I used to do well on this WOE. I have lost 65 pounds before and it was NOT that hard.I have to get back in the mindset of this WOE and stick with it. I think someone to be accountable to will help me out.So, I looking forward to doing this. Good Luck !!!

Yes you are now an honorary member of the Let's Get Our Big Butts Back On Track gang!

I think it will really help to have some people in the same boat as me to answer to.

I started at 325 in september and got down to 288 last week before I started tucking in to my husbands bread stash.

Restarting at 293.

Awesome! Welcome to our little gang :>

It is so very hard to live with someone and have that food in the house. Honestly I have found that I just can't control the temptation sometimes.

I've talked to my hubby and he is on the same page as me as far as eating junk food at work instead of at home. Junk food includes bread! at least in my opinion.

No more tempting foods in the house, at least while I get back on track.

Good for you! I wish I could say the same

Today I indulged in brown rice pasta and pasta sauce. Not exactly terrible but definitely too high carb.

Tomorrow I am back on track 100%.

I am probably going to do South Beach Phase 1 (very low carb) for a few weeks then get back to Phase 2.

Awesome, good job jaded

So far today so good! Had a cup and a half of broccoli with a few pieces of turkey. For dinner will be more turkey and salad! snacks are a handful of walnuts and maybe some celery.

I'm aiming to get under 25g of carbs.

I found the thread. I see they moved it overnight. You are doing great. I want to ask you a question. How hard is South Beach versus Atkins?? I may switch. I am doing well on atkins this week,so far. The weekend is coming up and this IS my hard time. I am going to try hard NOT to fall off the wagon, this time. I will post more later.

Awesome! But don't beat yourself up if you fail, in fact a lot of people have one cheat meal a week and have great success. My sister has been low carbing and she does that and has lost quite a bit of weight.

I am only two days in of eating clean and I am having some cravings for carbs. But I know this always happens and they will go away. So irritating though, all I want is some toast or something fast.

What are you snacking on? I used to snack on cheese a lot but I cut cheese out of my diet. Nuts are great but I can't eat too many since they are so full of calories.

Getting tired of celery and salt. hehe

I am moving houses so this weekend and next weekend I will not be around much, just a heads up in case you're looking for your Back On Track buddy and wondering where she is on the weekends

I'm planning ahead and bringing walnuts, celery sticks and eating a good sized meal before I head out for the weekend. I'll be busy but that's no excuse to not eat on plan (hopefully!)

That's wonderful Jaded

I am down a pound from yesterday. Did not write everything down yesterday - but I know my carbs were higher than 20. But I am eating foods that are from the perimeter of the store instead of the packaged foods in the middle - so I think it is paying off.

Well - I need to charge my kindle to see what book it was that I was following.

My issue is that if I deny my body ANY food group that contains the foods I LOVE - I am setting myself up for failure.

While I LOVE the LC WOE, atkins is too restrictive for me.

I followed phase 1 for 2 weeks. It is sort of a "must" to cleanse the body IMO. Then, after those 2 weeks I reintroduced foods that I love one at a time for a day or two to see how my body reacted to each food. I followed serving sizes and such to make sure I wasn't bingeing. Certain foods will lead to a "desire" to continual eating. Some I can just take or leave. It is a very personal journey for each person to learn what works vs what doesn't work.

While some are all for rapid weight loss, I prefer slow and steady and then after reaching a percentage goal back off and let my body catch up. maintain for a week, then restart. Your body, mind, muscles & metabolism do not know what to expect next....

I am currently just doing what previously has worked for me - but I have set a start date of Sunday April 21st for my 2 week Induction Phase.

Again - this is just me. Some people will lash out at me. But again, it is a very personal journey and for me - it does not work to cut out certain foods or continuously tell myself NO... I am a true believer in eating from the outer perimeter of the store. Such as dairy, meat, produce and vegetables - keeping the processed foods down to an extreme minimum and watching the sodium content and NC of what processed foods I will allow. After 1 month, I will allow certain LC snacks.

I went from 280 to 260ish (can't remember) then lost a family member and all H broke loose.

So it's LC, but the main difference is not being as strict on the foods I allow. THE MAIN THING IS WRITING EVERYTHING DOWN AND HOW YOUR BODY RESPONDS TO EACH FOOD... It is the only way to know what will and will not work for you. I typically left bread, pasta, & rice out of the equation due to how it makes me feel.

I will let you know what the name of the book is.

I read: How i gave up my Low fat diet & lost 40 pounds by Dana Carpender

Thank You, CINM.I am thinking of doing this.Atkins is just not working as well for me as it has in the past. I find myself giving up easy and then get mad at myself for doing so. I have been doing atkins off and on for years, maybe I am just tiredof it, I don`t know. I was thinking of South Beach or just a mainly LC veggie, egg, cheese and chicken type thing.I will look at the Dana Carpender book. Thank You !!!

You're welcome...

I only FEEL good eating Low Carb. When I eat too many carbs I am lethargic and feel like I am HUGE.... That's my opinion....

Regardless of your WOE - you need support. Just sayin

I am aiming to re-start tomorrow (it is already 815 at night here). If you will have me, can I join your group? I did well on Atkins in the past and I lost over 40 lbs. Unfortunately, during the holidays I splurged, and it has been down hill since! I pretty much gained all my weight back and I am having a tough time of it staying away from the carbs. I need to just stop! Having upport and people to answer to will help keep me on track. Please let me join your group.

Count me in too

Just got back on board. Went through all the cancer crap 5 years ago and rewarded myself for getting through it by having having a few too many private pity parties complete with cake and ice cream. Then I got to enjoy my evening martini and to top it off hubs got in to baking artisan breads. Spent the winter down south enjoying everything fried and washed down with some great IPA beers and now I am ready to pay the piper. I started the day after Easter and have lost 10 lbs so far. 30 to go before my pre-cancer weight and another 15-20 after that. Deep breaths and one foot in front of the other....Join me?
