My dad always needs clothes. He never buys clothes.

Bill likes golf hats and shirts.

My mom is harder but she loves Chicos so I will probably get her a gift card from there for mothers days again.

Off to cash in change I have been saving and to Home Goods to see if they have some nice new sheets for my bed and check for patio related things.

Morning!

I've showered, emptied the dishwasher and voted. I need to kick it up a notch! At least I walked to the polling place, so I got in a little exercise!

Cindy - I'm sure DD was VERY shaken!! for both of you!!
Since your mom tends to return things, I like the picture idea . . . . get one or a small collage and frame it?

DH never likes to buy clothes, so maybe that would work for your dad.
Does he have hobbies?
Golf?

And feel free to whine - sometimes you just need to get it out!

Debbie - you too!!

Kaye - sending you thoughts and prayers!!

Jenn - can't wait to see Henry!!

Kelly - are you still in charge of the parent's group?

I have a 4 year plan, this year and next year I'm the pres. of the parent group, DS15's jr. year I'm ex-officio and only have to be around to answer questions/pick up slack and senior year I'm ONLY doing sports and senior activities.

Jenn, can't wait to see Henry's picture! I'll bet he looks adorable with his new glasses (and he's probably really happy to be able to see better)

Debbie, hope you are able to get everything done today.

DS21's wallet was stolen. Just gave him $80 since he isn't working. Now he needs new drivers license but can't find his certified birth certificate. They won't accept copies or ones without seals.

Stressful evening!!

Oh no Debbie. I hope u are able to find the birth certificate. When John was using a birth certificate for Canada prior to the passport days I would be at the door waiting for his birth certificate when he walked in the door at the end of his trip. I got tired of running to the county seat where he was born (90 min away from here) the day before he was to leave or the day he left cuz he waited Til the last minute to look for it. I keep them now (his and mine) in the top drawer of my dresser.

I gained 3 of the 3.4 that I lost last week. I actually weighed on a day early coz I wanted to stop the craziness. I fell walking into Jenny cuz the sidewalk of the shopping center is crumbling and jammed/skinned my knee pretty bad and twisted my next (trying to protect my new glasses) cu my head was going toward the sidewalk. Its swollen but I think I'll live but the best part is I didn't break my new glasses!!!! Lol.

Going to bed, long day tomorrow!

Morning-

I'm waiting on DS15 to come home from practice. Wednesday's are REALLY long for the poor kid.

Becky, Oh no, glad your glasses are okay, but OUCH! Take it easy on the treadmill until your knee feels better!

Debbie, poor DS! I hope you all are able to find his birth certificate. It takes time to replace all the stuff we carry around in our wallets.

Cindy, glad you are finally feeling back to yourself. Stay safe and warm.

Kaye, how ya doin? Everyone hanging in there? Thinking about you all.

to everyone else. BBL

Have some things to do before the kiddos get home (early day)

Becky-on no! I hope your knee heals quickly!

Debbie-how stressful! I hope he finds it soon! Mine was lost for years and I found it a few weeks ago when cleaning! Now if only I could remember what I did with it again!

Cindy-guess I won't talk about my weather! lol!

Getting ready to get the girls off to the "dad" and then I have a meeting at work from 6-7 and then back to get the girls from the "dad". Mowed today, just the front and side as that part is pretty big and hilly. Will do back yard either Friday or Saturday, depending how the days pan out.

Did 3/4 of today's couch to 5k run this afternoon. I messed up the timer on the last walking interval and it didn't start our run. My friend has littler kids and needed to get home before her little guy came in from school, so, we'll do it "right" Friday. We are averaging about a 10:30 mile including the walking intervals, which I don't think is too bad considering where we started.

Becky, sounds like a busy afternoon.

Jenn, I'm not mentioning my weather either.

Kaye, still thinking about you!

Hi!

Pretty good day today - dog walk, exercise, lunch with a friend, massage, dog walk, thunderstorm . . .

Cindy - glad you're better! How is DD feeling?
More snow?? We have big storms this afternoon and supposed to get more tonight, but no snow!

Debbie - Oh no!!! I hope he can get everything replaced!

Becky - so sorry about your knee!!!! Be really careful when you're exercising until you heal! But congrats on saving your glasses!
After seeing your driveway in the snow pic, I don't envy your lawn. That's quite a workout when you mow it!

Kelly - good job on the Couch to 5K!!

Jenn - now where's that Henry pic?!

Becky, are you OK after your fall??
Glad your glasses are OK but what about you.

Cindy, I shouldn't mention our weather either but I will be discussing Cherry Blossoms later.

Wishing we would hear from Kaye. I hope her husband is OK.

Kelly, 10:30 is fast!!

MK, wish my DH didn't like to buy clothes. He has more then I do!!

Jenn, I ordered a new birth certificate. Funny thing is I could find the 22 year old one but it doesn't have the seal and no longer accepted for things like a passport.

So DS21(almost 22) was able to get a new license today. The birth certificate was accepted.
His GF's father wants her to move out and is helping her get into an apartment. She can't afford the rent but he will pay part. My son will live there and pay when he has a job again. He is waiting for security clearance for a job that won't start till the semester is over.

I was supposed to go see a town house my oldest wanted to buy but they had three offers. Went over to their apartment and bought them dinner. Isabella had an allergic reaction today and her face got red and swollen. She kept pointing to her throat saying aqui. Benadryl helped though. They were outside a lot today and the tree pollen count is high due to the lack of rain and 90 degree heat.

I met a friend at 8am and we went in to DC to see the Cherry Blossoms. She took the morning off. We walked a ton. It was hot and sunny!! Sorry Cindy!!

Got a pedicure today too!!

When I was in DC today. People posted it was 91 on their car thermostats.

Jenn, he's adorable. His glasses remind me of DS19's new glasses. He looks so smart!

Cindy, hang in there with the Punits. Hopefully it will be a good visit & at least you can get away to the shower for a while.

Debbie, thanks, we started out averaging almost 14 mins/mile, so we're both really happy with our progress. I was having MAJOR sugar cravings but I added a half of a baked sweet potato after most runs & it seems to have taken care of it for now.
(we would be whining here with your weather that it's too hot, but then again we don't have ac)

MK, I miss thunderstorms.

Stinky weather still hanging around.
Wonder if we were premature to tell my folks not to come as it's a little better today, but the whole weekend is supposed to be crummy. I am thinking everything happens for a reason.

MK - thanks for asking about DD. She is doing well - I think I may feel worse than she does. There is a bit of hope that they won't total the car? Not sure if that's good or bad.......she needs one.

Open registration today at work - meaning all hands on deck at 8 a.m. It should be another busy day!

Glad you all are having good weather - send it our way!

Not totaling the car good. If the air bags deployed they usually total it( so I've heard).
If totaled you get what they think the car is worth. Lets say it is 8000 minus deductible and then you try to find another car. We had trouble finding a car under 12,000 dollars. Even that had 60,000 miles on it.

I am going to run up and get my blood drawn soon. I should get results tomorrow.

A little cooler here too. It will be cloudy and rain coming. Cooler but not cold.

DH and his GF staying here. Her dad wants her out of the house and is willing to help finance it. I am sure he doesn't approve of my son. He will never make a lot of money. He won't have a college degree. He is a god loving person but needs a lot of help. His jobs come through our connections. That is why we pushed him into the food business. He may get his restaurant management certificate next December if he passes Nutrition next fall.
I really don't care if they stay here but we like our empty nest. Now I need to go buy food and clean up after them. We feel like we can't sit downstairs when they are there.

I think her apartment is available in May. Her dad wants it in her name and it to be her apartment. As I said I really think he is tired of my son.

Jenn, I would say the same thing about the thunderstorms, as long as I could stay in and enjoy. People here are crazy driving in the rain.

Cindy, we bought DH's last car online and got a deal. My dad bought his car online and we have friends that are car guys that buy/sell online all the time. Of course it takes a little longer if it isn't local and you have to have the car shipped to you. (that's an added expense but you can negotiate that one) I think we were under Debbie's $12k for the jag even with the handful of repairs we knew DH's car would need once we got it. We had time to shop though and that makes a HUGE difference.

Debbie, I can understand your DS's GF's dad wanting her in her own place for a few reasons. I think its important to figure out how to manage a household without someone else first. I lived (with a room mate) for a couple of years and it was good for me to have to figure out security deposits, paying my bills, etc. Although if he's paying for it, that kinda doesn't make sense. I'm assuming this is your youngest, the one taking classes at the community college?

Kelly, she had an apartment in college. My son is at a community college but flunked so many classes we put him in the certificate program so he can get some kind of education. It is frustrating with his dyslexia and learning issues.

I got my blood drawn and went to grocery. About to order a patio set online. Hope we like it. It is on Home Depot website and got 5 star reviews.

Doctor at 2. Hoping for a course of steroids for my back but then again the last two days have been better. It comes and goes. Saturday was bad.

We bought DS28's car online. It was OK. Still around 13,000 for a 2007 Sonata with 65,000 miles. Best deal we could find.

Debbie, I know we got a deal on DH's car, but it is a 1995 so definitely not a "late model" used car. Its a great car though, people comment on how pretty it is all the time.

DS19's best friend has some major dyslexia issues, his mom really had to advocate for him to get him through HS with what he needed. He is currently in culinary school and cooking is his passion, but it wasn't easy getting him to that point. It sounds like your DS is a great kid with a big heart and really, that's the most important thing!

Debbie, your son has a lot going for him. Its good hrs in a certificate program cuz he can do something with it. I wish brad had done something like that. At least he has something to offer and help when he settles down, our ex will probably not amount to anything therefore she gets very little child support. And you and Don are behind him so the support is worth quite a bit!!!

I got mom and took her to lunch. Having a little quiet time before we have our Thursday night camper. Don't know what I'm doing for dinner tho. I'll ha e to come up with something for John and Gracie.

Its rained ALL day so I probably will ah e to remove tomorrow if its dry enough (probably not) or Saturday before I start the back and it also means the back is going to be crazy!!! Sorry Cindy! U can come mow mine!!!

Henry is adorable!!! What a cutie! We could betroth Henry and Alyssa!!!

Mk... U sent us this rain, didn't u? Maybe Debbie can enjoy it, it was very lazy feeling! I hope its nice In Plano next week, Thursday looks nice anyway!

Kelly, don't you get any thunderstorms there? We didn't get thunder, just a nice steady drizzle all day long.
