I am not taking on any challenges right now :(
Taking school FT in the evenings, working FT and doing tons of public transit commuting. Any other time is spent w/the kids. But I did a brisk walk for 40 mins at lunch break and squats at the bus stop (just missed my bus tonight!) I would like to hear about your challenges tho :) |

Avy - if you are around, I looked up the rain stats for Halifax. AFTER I looked up my city bc I was wondering how much rain we got today (100mms). In Nov we average 300mm of rain! That is 3x the amount of Halifax!!!
My point? It is apparently NOT my imagine. It really, really does rain an abnormal amount here. I am serious that we need to MOVE. I'm sick of this. Grrrr...and I've lived here my whole life. |

Kamloops lake is 15 minutes away so we plan on going at least twice a month this year because we are working we will motel it in Washington when we go.... 1 long weekend a month. when we lived in the Okanagan and were not working we camped in Washington lots 3 more years of work:)..........to the day*March 1st* |

Right now I am working full time, going to school full time and have 2 children under 5. And I'm OLD. If I were younger, this would be probably be a lot easier, LOL. My parents used to have a place at Black Mtn Ranch. I learned to ski at Baker. Love the powder there. We have relatives just south of Everett so whenever we get to Wash, we just end up visiting. No more "trips"... |
Hello .... snowing yesterday and woke up to more fresh snow on the mountains around Vernon. Had to switch back to winter coat I was so cold yesterday.
Deanne ~ Lived in Vancouver once and I loved being in the city but couldn't cope with the rain. Deb ~ Sorry I haven't joined your challenge yet. As for exercise, I'm still tracking my steps and doing the 1 mile walking tape almost every day. |

Hi all, I'm not Canadian, but thought I'd tell you a funny story (well we thought it was funny). I'm from MN, and so is my mom. Well anyways, she took a trip to New Zealand a few years ago and all the people there kept asking her if she was from Canada. We thought that was very funny. Who knew that Minnesotans sound like Canadians :shake:

Haha that's funny, usually people tell me I sound American... until I say "eh" or "about". And I don't say a-boot, it's more like Ah-bowt LOL

When I was in Europe, people kept asking me if I was American. My bf was from Quebec and they would point to him and say he was Canadian. He and I heard no difference in our speech!?? So I asked a taxi driver why he thought I was American...and he said, "you sound JUST like everybody on American TV!"
Later, we went to California and I understood what they mean. We share a lot of slang and intonation. But I had a linguistic expert tell me we have no accent and ppl on TV practice that :) Gorgeous sunny day here and I am off to see DS1 (who just turned 5) play in his very first soccer game!! Hopefully we can find parking tho...there are 220 teams playing! It is about a 20 min walk from the university and since I am a student, I have that as a fall back, hahaha. |

boring weekend here..cleaning and homework. Hubby has been working all w/end and our family are in Mexico for spring break so no Easter dinner. I've taken the kids outside a lot to enjoy this fabulous weather! but really, I need to finish lots of homework and do some baking/cooking for the upcoming week. The next two weeks are going to be insanely busy here.

not doing much of anything, where did the long w/end go? funny thing, I kind of slipped off LCing and this week, I went back. Gained 3 lbs! now I'm not sure if I should continue or back to moderate carbing...or maybe I need to do more induction like foods...really missing vegetables, that might be the problem. Happy EASTER everyone! |
